2022-04-14revisions API: have release_revisions() release "cmdline"Ævar Arnfjörð Bjarmason
Extend the the release_revisions() function so that it frees the "cmdline" in the "struct rev_info". This in combination with a preceding change to free "commits" and "mailmap" means that we can whitelist another test under "TEST_PASSES_SANITIZE_LEAK=true". There was a proposal in [1] to do away with xstrdup()-ing this add_rev_cmdline(), perhaps that would be worthwhile, but for now let's just free() it. We could also make that a "char *" in "struct rev_cmdline_entry" itself, but since we own it let's expose it as a constant to outside callers. I proposed that in [2] but have since changed my mind. See 14d30cdfc04 (ref-filter: fix memory leak in `free_array_item()`, 2019-07-10), c514c62a4fd (checkout: fix leak of non-existent branch names, 2020-08-14) and other log history hits for "free((char *)" for prior art. This includes the tests we had false-positive passes on before my 6798b08e848 (perl Git.pm: don't ignore signalled failure in _cmd_close(), 2022-02-01), now they pass for real. Since there are 66 tests matching t/t[0-9]*git-svn*.sh it's easier to list those that don't pass than to touch most of those 66. So let's introduce a "TEST_FAILS_SANITIZE_LEAK=true", which if set in the tests won't cause lib-git-svn.sh to set "TEST_PASSES_SANITIZE_LEAK=true. This change also marks all the tests that we removed "TEST_FAILS_SANITIZE_LEAK=true" from in an earlier commit due to removing the UNLEAK() from cmd_format_patch(), we can now assert that its API use doesn't leak any "struct rev_info" memory. This change also made commit "t5503-tagfollow.sh" pass on current master, but that would regress when combined with ps/fetch-atomic-fixup's de004e848a9 (t5503: simplify setup of test which exercises failure of backfill, 2022-03-03) (through no fault of that topic, that change started using "git clone" in the test, which has an outstanding leak). Let's leave that test out for now to avoid in-flight semantic conflicts. 1. https://lore.kernel.org/git/YUj%2FgFRh6pwrZalY@carlos-mbp.lan/ 2. https://lore.kernel.org/git/87o88obkb1.fsf@evledraar.gmail.com/ Signed-off-by: Ævar Arnfjörð Bjarmason <avarab@gmail.com> Signed-off-by: Junio C Hamano <gitster@pobox.com>
2021-06-08t: use user-specified utf-8 locale for testing svnĐoàn Trần Công Danh
In some test-cases, UTF-8 locale is required. To find such locale, we're using the first available UTF-8 locale that returned by "locale -a". However, the locale(1) utility is unavailable on some systems, e.g. Linux with musl libc. However, without "locale -a", we can't guess provided UTF-8 locale. Add a Makefile knob GIT_TEST_UTF8_LOCALE and activate it for linux-musl in our CI system. Rename t/lib-git-svn.sh:prepare_a_utf8_locale to prepare_utf8_locale, since we no longer prepare the variable named "a_utf8_locale", but set up a fallback value for GIT_TEST_UTF8_LOCALE instead. The fallback will be LC_ALL, LANG environment variable, or the first UTF-8 locale from output of "locale -a", in that order. 2019-03-14tests: use 'test_atexit' to stop httpdSZEDER Gábor
Use 'test_atexit' to run cleanup commands to stop httpd at the end of the test script or upon interrupt or failure, as it is shorter, simpler, and more robust than registering such cleanup commands in the trap on EXIT in the test scripts. 2016-07-25git svn: migrate tests to use lib-httpdEric Wong
This allows us to use common test infrastructure and parallelize the tests. For now, GIT_SVN_TEST_HTTPD=true needs to be set to enable the SVN HTTP tests because we reuse the same test cases for both file:// and http:// SVN repositories. SVN_HTTPD_PORT is no longer honored. Tested under Apache 2.2 and 2.4 on Debian 7.x (wheezy) and 8.x (jessie), respectively. 2016-03-23mingw: skip some tests in t9115 due to file name issuesJohannes Schindelin
These two tests wanted to write file names which are incompatible with Windows' file naming rules (even if they pass using Cygwin due to Cygwin's magic path mangling). While at it, skip the same tests also on MacOSX/HFS, as pointed out by Torsten Bögershausen. 2016-02-22git-svn: apply "svn.pathnameencoding" before URL encodingKazutoshi Satoda
The conversion from "svn.pathnameencoding" to UTF-8 should be applied first, and then URL encoding should be applied on the resulting UTF-8 path. The reversed order of these transforms (used before this fix) makes non-UTF-8 URL which causes error from Subversion such as "Filesystem has no item: '...' path not found" when sending a rename (or a copy) from non-ASCII path. [ew: t9115 test case added (requires SVN_HTTPD_PORT set to test), squash LC_ALL=$a_utf8_locale export from Kazutoshi for Cygwin] Signed-off-by: Kazutoshi SATODA <k_satoda@f2.dion.ne.jp> Signed-off-by: Eric Wong <normalperson@yhbt.net>
2016-02-22git-svn: enable "svn.pathnameencoding" on dcommitKazutoshi Satoda
Without the initialization of $self->{pathnameencoding}, conversion in repo_path() is always skipped as $self->{pathnameencoding} is undefined even if "svn.pathnameencoding" is configured. The lack of conversion results in mysterious failure of dcommit (e.g. "Malformed XML") which happen only when a commit involves a change on non-ASCII path. 2010-09-10tests: subshell indentation stylefixJonathan Nieder
Format the subshells introduced by the previous patch (Several tests: cd inside subshell instead of around, 2010-09-06) like so: ( cd subdir && ... ) && This is generally easier to read and has the nice side-effect that this patch will show what commands are used in the subshell, making it easier to check for lost environment variables and similar behavior changes. 2010-09-07Several tests: cd inside subshell instead of aroundJens Lehmann

2009-11-16git svn: attempt to create empty dirs on clone+rebaseEric Wong
We parse unhandled.log files for empty_dir statements and make a best effort attempt to recreate empty directories on fresh clones and rebase. This should cover the majority of cases where users work off a single branch or for projects where branches do not differ in empty directories. Since this cannot affect "normal" git commands like "checkout" or "reset", so users switching between branches in a single working directory should use the new "git svn mkdirs" command after switching branches. 2008-08-17tests: use $TEST_DIRECTORY to refer to the t/ directoryJunio C Hamano
Many test scripts assumed that they will start in a 'trash' subdirectory that is a single level down from the t/ directory, and referred to their test vector files by asking for files like "../t9999/expect". This will break if we move the 'trash' subdirectory elsewhere. To solve this, we earlier introduced "$TEST_DIRECTORY" so that they can refer to t/ directory reliably. This finally makes all the tests use it to refer to the outside environment. With this patch, and a one-liner not included here (because it would contradict with what Dscho really wants to do): | diff --git a/t/test-lib.sh b/t/test-lib.sh | index 70ea7e0..60e69e4 100644 | --- a/t/test-lib.sh | +++ b/t/test-lib.sh | @@ -485,7 +485,7 @@ fi | . ../GIT-BUILD-OPTIONS | | # Test repository | -test="trash directory" | +test="trash directory/another level/yet another" | rm -fr "$test" || { | trap - exit | echo >&5 "FATAL: Cannot prepare test area" all the tests still pass, but we would want extra sets of eyeballs on this type of change to really make sure. 2008-05-11git-svn: fix cloning of HTTP URLs with '+' in their pathEric Wong
With this, git svn clone -s http://svn.gnome.org/svn/gtk+ is successful. Also modified the funky rename test for this, which _does_ include escaped '+' signs for HTTP URLs. SVN seems to accept either "+" or "%2B" in filenames and directories (just not the main URL), so I'll leave it alone for now. 2008-05-06Fix tests breaking when checkout path contains shell metacharactersBryan Donlan
This fixes the remainder of the issues where the test script itself is at fault for failing when the git checkout path contains whitespace or other shell metacharacters. The majority of git svn tests used the idiom test_expect_success "title" "test script using $svnrepo" These were changed to have the test script in single-quotes: test_expect_success "title" 'test script using "$svnrepo"' which unfortunately makes the patch appear larger than it really is. One consequence of this change is that in the verbose test output the value of $svnrepo (and in some cases other variables, too) is no longer expanded, i.e. previously we saw * expecting success: test script using /path/to/git/t/trash/svnrepo but now it is: * expecting success: test script using "$svnrepo" Signed-off-by: Bryan Donlan <bdonlan@fushizen.net> Signed-off-by: Junio C Hamano <gitster@pobox.com>
2007-07-16git-svn: fix commiting renames over DAV with funky file namesEric Wong
Renaming files with non-URI friendly characters caused breakage when committing to DAV repositories (over http(s)). Even if I try leaving out the $self->{url} from the return value of url_path(), a partial (without host), unescaped path name does not work. Filenames for DAV repos need to be URI-encoded before being passed to the library. Since this bug did not affect file:// and svn:// repos, the git-svn test library needed to be expanded to include support for starting Apache with mod_dav_svn enabled. This new test is not enabled by default, but can be enabled by setting SVN_HTTPD_PORT to any available TCP/IP port on 127.0.0.1. Additionally, for running this test, the following variables (with defaults shown) can be changed for the suitable system. The default values are set for Debian systems: SVN_HTTPD_MODULE_PATH=/usr/lib/apache2/modules SVN_HTTPD_PATH=/usr/sbin/apache2 Signed-off-by: Eric Wong <normalperson@yhbt.net> Signed-off-by: Junio C Hamano <gitster@pobox.com>
