Inspiring keynotes

Hackweek

During the hackweek we collaborate on Nextcloud improvements in design, functionality, stability, performance and features. We share code, thoughts, inspiration, beer and knowledge, working in areas like:

  • Coding (PHP, JS, C++, Objective-C, Java)
  • Design & Front-end
  • Testing
  • Translation & Documentation

Read our blog on the Nextcloud Conference 2017 to get a feeling of the event.

Talks & Workshops

In the weekend of August 25 and 26 we have a program with talks and workshops to provide a chance to learn and improve coding skills on and around Nextcloud. For example:

  • Write your first nextcloud app
  • Intro to the Android app dev process, why you should join the design team and how we do performance testing
  • Status updates on the Calendar, Theming and iOS apps

On Monday the 27th we have a special Enterprise day with a focus on enterprise and large scale Nextcloud usage.

Check out the full program!

The talks will be live-streamed, stay tuned for more information!

This is a hands-on event. Bring your laptop!

Diversity tickets logo Diversity Tickets

Nextcloud is committed to support diversity and will provide support to people of underrepresented groups in tech. This includes people who belong to one or more of the following groups: women, people of color, nonbinary & gender non-conforming people, people with disabilities, and LGBTQIA+ people.

The event is free and provides catered lunch. We will provide up to 80% support of travel & accomodation costs during the event to people who have contributed to Nextcloud in one way or another. For instance, you can solve a good first issue, work on the design, organize a local Nextcloud meetup, or contribute in other ways.

Code of conduct

We want everybody to feel welcome at the event. Please be mindful of our code of conduct

The conference is an open space which means potential issues. Please be sure that you are comfortable with that. Of course, you can always ask people not to take pictures or video of you but note that there will be video recordings of the talks.

Berlin and accommodation

We gathered some hotel options for you! Be quick, last year many hotels already had no space left in May...

  • Ibis Budget Berlin Kurfürstendamm This affordable hotel (starting below Eur 50/night) is two U-bahn stops or a 25 minute walk away from the University. Most of the core developers will be staying here.
  • Youth hotel Aletto Kudamm (starting at Eur 50) is in walking distance.
  • Hotel Amelie is just a quick U-bahn trip away and is affordable.
  • Novotel Berlin Am Tiergarten This hotel costs about Eur 75/night but is very conveniently located at the closest S-bahn station. You may hear the train early in the morning or late at night though.

If these hotels are full or not to your liking, you can use for example this site to find something close by the University.

Last year

The Nextcloud Conference 2017 brought 150 Nextclouders to Berlin. Read our blog to learn more and watch the talks on our youtube channel.
