2021-02-24UI: Remove colons from some labelsYevgeny Makarov
The colons are not necessary in these situations because it's clear that the label applies to the next group of buttons anyway, and they add unecessary visual complexity. Committing as part of D9924.
2021-02-04Fix T85357: Setting collection color restricted to View Layer modeNathan Craddock
Allow setting collection color in Scenes and Blender File outliner display modes in addition to View Layer mode.
2021-01-13Cleanup: use single quotes for enum literalsCampbell Barton
2020-12-28UI: List library overrides in the OutlinerJulian Eisel
Having a centeral place to find a list of all library overrides should be useful for managing production scenes where library overrides are used a lot. This change adds the individually overridden properties of a data-block under the data-block itself. Just how we show modifiers, constraints or pose channels there. This way we can also expose library override operations/options better in future. There's also a filter option for the library overrides now, so they can be hidden. It is only available in the View Layer display mode though, like the other filter options. One internal change this has to do is adding more informative return values to undo pushes and the library override functions called by it. That way we can send a notifier when library overrides change for the Outliner to know when to rebuild the tree. 2020-11-20UI: Remove excess row spacing in outliner popoverNathan Craddock
Some checkboxes had nonessential spacing between rows which made the popover taller than needed.
2020-11-20Outliner: Object state filter invert toggleNathan Craddock
This adds an invert toggle for the outliner object state filters. There are some cases where we want a filter for invertable states (Selected, Unselected) and having a single toggle to invert the filter reduces the number of separate filter types needed. This removes the "Hidden" filter which can now be replicated with an inverted "Visible" filter. Differential Revision: https://developer.blender.org/D9598
2020-11-17Fix wrong collection icon in outliner popoverNathan Craddock
This icon was missed in rB0633a89e1827
2020-09-15Outliner: Set collection color tag operatorNathan Craddock
This adds a new operator to the outliner context menu. The collections context menu now shows inline icons to set the color tag for all selected collections. Manifest Task: https://developer.blender.org/T77777 Differential Revision: https://developer.blender.org/D8622
2020-09-10Cleanup: Remove outliner edit mode context menu entriesNathan Craddock
The outliner context menu has options to enter and exit edit mode, but they only show in edit mode, and they don't work. This removes the broken entries and related code. Part of T77408 Differential Revision: https://developer.blender.org/D8641
2020-09-10Outliner: Move mode toggling to left columnNathan Craddock
Add a column of icons in the left gutter of the outliner for controlling the interaction modes of objects. When an object is in a mode other than object mode, the mode icon will draw to the left of that object. Any other objects that are valid to be added or swapped into the mode are drawn with a dot to the left of the object. Clicking the dot to the left of an object will swap that object with the current active object in the interaction mode. For edit and pose modes, ctrl clicking the dot will add that object to the current mode. Clicking the mode icon next to the active object removes it and all other objects from the current mode. The behavior is nearly identical to the previous edit/pose mode toggling by selecting the mesh and armature datablocks, with additional support for all interaction modes. Currently two undo steps are pushed to prevent an assert. Part of T77408 Manifest Task: https://developer.blender.org/T68498 Differential Revision: https://developer.blender.org/D8641
2020-07-28Fix T77951: Remove duplicate outliner menu entriesNathan Craddock
Move the common entries (View and Area) into a static method to be called from other menus to avoid duplicating the New Collection and ID Paste operators.
2020-06-17Outliner: Unified delete hierarchy operatorNathan Craddock
This resolves T73673 by allowing delete hierarchy in all outliner view modes. It also unifies the collection and object hierarchy delete into a single operator like in rBae98a033c856. This makes it easier to delete all selected collection and object hierarchies at once. This also removes the old object delete hierarchy code in favor of the batch delete code which has been default for over a year. 2020-04-30Outliner: Add new delete operatorNathan Craddock
In the industry standard keymap, both deleting objects and collections were mapped to the same keys causing confusion when only collections could be deleted through the keymap. This adds a new delete operator to delete all selected objects and collections, accessible from both the keymap and context menu. Now any selected objects and collections are deleted when Delete is chosen from the keymap. This also updates the tooltip description which was previously undocumented. Resolves T67462
2020-04-15Fix menu search omitting the outliner context menuCampbell Barton
Use a regular context menu as a fallback for the outliner. If there are no specific actions for the item under the cursor, fall through to opening a regular menu. This lets menu search find the context menu items which were previously unavailable as menu search wont run operators.

2020-03-18Objects: add Volume object type, and prototypes for Hair and PointCloudBrecht Van Lommel
Only the volume object is exposed in the user interface. It is based on OpenVDB internally. Drawing and rendering code will follow in another commit. https://wiki.blender.org/wiki/Source/Objects/Volume https://wiki.blender.org/wiki/Reference/Release_Notes/2.83/Volumes Hair and PointCloud object types are hidden behind a WITH_NEW_OBJECT_TYPES build option. These are unfinished, and included only to make it easier to cooperate on development in the future and avoid tricky merges. https://wiki.blender.org/wiki/Source/Objects/New_Object_Types Ref T73201, T68981 Differential Revision: https://developer.blender.org/D6945

2019-08-16Outliner: Synced selection and active element highlightingNathan Craddock
Adds a toggle to the filter menu for outliner synced selection. Enabled by default, this ensures selection is synced between objects, bones, and sequences. An active outliner element theme color is added to indicate which element is active. Synced selection is controlled on the operator level. Each operator that modifies selection for objects, bones, sequences, or outliner elements needs to call the respective ED_outliner_select_sync_from.. function to tag outliners to be synced. Syncing is done lazily on outliner draw.

2019-05-18UI: Icons updateWilliam Reynish
New icons from Andrzej Ambroż / Jendrzych: - Bespoke icon for creating new Collections - Special icons for Rigid Body and Rigid Body Constraints (Physics Properties) - New icons for Holdout and Indirect Only toggles in the Outliner - New generic Cursor icon for cases that are not related to either Orientation or Pivot Many other tweaks to existing icons, including: - Add & Remove Keyframe - Weight Paint & Collision Modifier - Tablet Pressure Sensitivity - Playback icons
2019-05-15Outliner Restriction: Naming sanitization and iconDalai Felinto
No major API change here, only in the outliner restriction column variables (e.g., show_restrict_column_selectable > show_restrict_column_select). * Get rid of _INSTANCE (introduced on b1af68200159). * Differentiate (everywhere but the API) between HIDE (temporary) and VIEWPORT (global). * Use the expected icon for restrict viewport (same as objects and modifiers). * selectable > select
2019-05-14Outliner restriction filter: Unify orderDalai Felinto
The popup menu was a different order than the drawing in the outliner.
2019-05-11Outliner Visibility UpdateDalai Felinto
See T61578 for discussions and mockups. Visibility Options ================== We are adding more granular control over restriction columns in the outliner, exposing "indirect only" and "holdout" as options, and change the way users enable/disable collections in a viewlayer. We also rename the object viewport restriction to hide instance. So the options we have are: Collection ---------- * Render Visibility * Instance Visibility * Selectable (View) Layer Collection ----------------------- * Enable * Holdout * Indirect Only * Viewport Shortcuts ========= Isolate Collection ------------------ * Ctr + click isolates the collection. It turns all its parents and children "visible", and all the other collections "invisible". If ALL the collections were already properly set, we re-set the collections to their default value. Set Collection Inside Collections and Objects --------------------------------------------- * Shift + click: Set/unset inside collections and objects. We only set objects values as well when we are in View Layer mode and (obviously) when the objects have a matching property. Icons ===== Little reminder that we will need better icons for holdout, indirect only, and probably instanced (nothing wrong with the current, but it differs from the proposal when it is turned off). Also, we need to decide where do we want the modifier/bones/... icons to be (in which column) and ideally make sure their icons match the ones we use for collections/objects. At the moment those are using the screen icon, which is not being used by collections. Reviewers: brecht, billrey Subscribers: pablovazquez Differential Revision: https://developer.blender.org/D4823

2019-03-08Partially revert "Collection duplication from Outliner: add a 'duplicate ↵Bastien Montagne
hierarchy' operation." This partially reverts commit a77feabb51470b9cfb71be7f0ea7e774d6591799, removing the shallow 'duplicate hierarchy' option from outliner. Core changes from that commit in BKE_collections are kept.
2019-03-06Collection duplication from Outliner: add a 'duplicate hierarchy' operation.Bastien Montagne
Point is, you may want to duplicate your set of collections, but not duplicate all their objects. Some notes: * Am rather skeptical about the practice of using operator name to define behavior of some common exec code. Imho, that should be a single operator with an enum to refine its behavior (@cambpellbarton may also have an opinion here?). Left it as-is for now, because this seems to be used by other operators too in that code. :/ * @dfelinto, @pablovazquez, @billreynish am not so happy with current names, but cannot find really good short ones either... Also, shouldn't we move those into a dedicated `Duplicate` sub-menu?
2019-03-04Cleanup: use single quotes for enumsCampbell Barton
2019-03-01Outliner: Collections Duplicate - remove original duplicate operatorDalai Felinto
Now that we have better options (duplicate collection and duplicate linked) there is no longer need for the original dupli operator. In fact, as it was it was of little use if you ever had nested collections.
2019-03-01Outliner: Collection - Duplicate Hierarchy, and Duplicate Linked HierarchyDalai Felinto
As per the suggestion on T57064, this introduces two new options to duplicate collections. We then have: * Duplicate > Collection (New collection with linked content). * Duplicate > Hierachy (Duplicate entire hierarchy and make all contents single user). * Duplicate > Linked Hierarchy (Duplicate entire hierarchy keeping content linked with original). Development TODO: `single_object_users` can/should use the new functions. 2019-02-08UI: Move View operations to submenu in Outliner context menuPablo Vazquez
Show One Level, Hide One Level, Show Active, Show Hierarchy were taking four items on the context menu when they are not accessed that often from the context menu (they all have shortcuts). The "View" name is used to match other editors View menus.
2019-02-08UI: Icons for basic operations in Outliner context menuPablo Vazquez
Mainly the first of their category or when they need to be highlighted: * Delete * Enable Viewport/Render (match icons to make a visual connection) * ViewLayers (it's used pretty often so it makes it easier to find) Also group Show/Show All, Hide/Hide All together.
2019-02-06Outliner visibility unification: Implement 3 levels of viewport visibilityDalai Felinto
Now collection and objects can be either: * Disabled for all the view layers. * Hidden for a view layer but not necessarily for all others. * Visible for a view layer but not necessarily for all others. Regarding icons: Whatever we decide to use for the "Hidden for all view layers" needs to be a toggle-like icon. Because when viewing "Scenes" instead of "View Layer" in the outliner we should be able to edit the collection "Hidden for all the view layers" as an on/off option. The operators are accessible via a Visibility context menu or shortcuts: * Ctrl + Click: Isolate collection (use shift to extend). * Alt + Click: Disable collection. * Shift + Click: Hide/Show collection and its children (objects and collections) Things yet to be tackled: * Object outliner context menu can also get a Visibility sub-menu. * Get better icons for viewport enable/disable. Note: * When using emulate 3 button mouse alt+click is used for 2d panning. In this case users have to use the operator from the menu. See T57857 for discussion. 2018-07-25Cycles: add per layer collection indirectly on setting.Brecht Van Lommel
In the outliner, right click > view layer > set indirect only. This is like clearing camera ray visibility on objects in the collection, and is temporary until we have more general dynamic overrides.
2018-07-25Cycles: add per layer collection mask/holdout support.Brecht Van Lommel
In the outliner, right click > view layer > set holdout. This is temporary until we have more general dynamic overrides, but helps Spring production for now.
