2020-06-02UI: Fix T77173: Report Background Colors for 2.83 ReleaseHans Goudey
This is a temporary solution for T77173 for the 2.83 release. D7203 provides a more long term solution for future releases. This adds theme colors for the three report backgrounds, setting them to the color used in 2.82. A separate commit in the addons repository will follow for changes to the bundled themes. 2020-05-29Blender: change bugfix release versioning from a/b/c to .1/.2/.3Brecht Van Lommel
The file subversion is no longer used in the Python API or user interface, and is now internal to Blender. User interface, Python API and file I/O metadata now use more consistent formatting for version numbers. Official releases use "2.83.0", "2.83.1", and releases under development use "2.90.0 Alpha", "2.90.0 Beta". Some Python add-ons may need to lower the Blender version in bl_info to (2, 83, 0) or (2, 90, 0) if they used a subversion number higher than 0. https://wiki.blender.org/wiki/Reference/Release_Notes/2.83/Python_API#Compatibility This change is in preparation of LTS releases, and also brings us more in line with semantic versioning. Own error in cleanup from 5dcb6fb22f3f unintentionally changed enum values. Although this code violated our own rules to use explicit values to avoid this happening.

2020-03-10Fix T74613: Assign the default face set color in the versioning codePablo Dobarro
A default face set color was not being set in previously saved meshes, so it will always render the default face set with a random color until the colors were recalculated. * Direction mode X, Y and Z to align with axes rather than diagonal or spherical as previously. X is the new default, existing files will use diagonal or spherical for compatibility. * Phase offset to offset the wave along its direction, for purposes like animation and distortion. https://developer.blender.org/D6382

2020-01-18Weight Paint: implement a red shade for bones with locked weights.Alexander Gavrilov
Blender supports locking vertex groups to prevent changes to the weights. However, as mentioned in comments for D3837, it is hard to use this because there is no interface for locking in 3D View. This adds a red shade to bones that are associated with a locked weight group during weight paint mode, as the first step to adding such interface. The next step is adding a pie menu for lock/unlock. 2019-12-06Draw: Removal of MultiSample BuffersJeroen Bakker
Multisample buffers were used for smooth line drawing. As we now have an algorithm that doesn't need the multisample buffers we can remove them. The user preference for viewport multi_sampling is replaced by single toggle overlay `use_overlay_smooth_wire`. By default this setting is enabled as the new drawing is really quick (<1ms) and uses zero hacks. Reviewed By: fclem Differential Revision: https://developer.blender.org/D6367
2019-11-30UI: allow to hide markers region per editorAlessio Monti di Sopra
Instead of having the option to show marker lines, make the marker region optional. - Added a Show Markers entry in the View menu of the animation editors. - If the markers region is not active then the Marker menu gets hidden. - Removed marker menu from the driver editor and don't allow to use marker operators.
2019-11-27Curve: CurveMapping Extend OptionJeroen Bakker
Extend options are currently stored per curve. This was not clearly communicated to the user and they expected this to be a setting per CurveMapping. This change will move the option from `Curve` to `CurveMapping`. In order to support this the API had to be changed. BPY: CurveMap.evaluate is also moved to CurveMapping.evaluate what breaks Python API. Cycles has been updated but other add-ons have not. After release of 2.81 we can merge this to master and adapt the add-ons. Reviewed By: campbellbarton Differential Revision: https://developer.blender.org/D6169

2019-10-16UI: Remember ID-Filter in-between File Browser callsJulian Eisel
This adds the ID-Filters visible on append/link to the settings the file browser remembers, potentially storing them in the Preferences. Artists in the studio here requested this. They typically have to set up the same or similar settings every time, so this saves them from that.

2019-10-02Implement a user preference for the default Auto Handle Smoothing mode.Alexander Gavrilov
The default was changed with an initial implementation of the feature. With the feedback from animators, having a behavior which affects curves outside of a changing range is not convenient for professional animators working on high quality character animation. On the other hand, automatic smoothing is better for casual animation of object motion. This change adds an ability to change the default via User Preferences. Differential Revision: https://developer.blender.org/D5875
2019-09-18Fix preference for file browser and new window not being savedBrecht Van Lommel
The subversion should just be bumped for cases like this, it doesn't cost anything and functioning correctly is most important.
2019-09-12Shading: Add More Features To The Voronoi Node.OmarSquircleArt
This patch allows the Voronoi node to operate in 1D, 2D, and 4D space. It also adds a Randomness input to control the randomness of the texture. Additionally, it adds three new modes of operation: - Smooth F1: A smooth version of F1 Voronoi with no discontinuities. - Distance To Edge: Returns the distance to the edges of the cells. - N-Sphere Radius: Returns the radius of the n-sphere inscribed in the cells. In other words, it is half the distance between the closest feature point and the feature point closest to it. And it removes the following three modes of operation: - F3. - F4. - Cracks. The Distance metric is now called Euclidean, and it computes the actual euclidean distance as opposed to the old method of computing the squared euclidean distance. This breaks backward compatibility in many ways, including the base case. Reviewers: brecht, JacquesLucke Differential Revision: https://developer.blender.org/D5743
2019-09-09Shading: Extend Musgrave node to other dimensions.OmarSquircleArt
