2022-07-05NLA: change behavior of 'Frame Start' / 'End' slidersThibault de Villèle
Change the behavior of the "Frame start" and [Frame] "End" fields of an NLA Strip in the NLA editor. Frame Start now behaves like translating with {key G} and moving the mouse. It also updates the Frame End to ensure the strip remains the same length. Frame End changes the length of the strip, based on the Repeat property. If there are no repeats (i.e. number of repeats = 1) the underlying Action will change length, such that more or less of its keyframes will be part of the NLA strip. If there are repeats (i.e. number of repeats smaller or larger than 1), the number of repeats will change. Either way, the effective end frame off the strip will be the one set in the Frame End slider. The old behavior of stretching time has been removed. It is still possible to stretch time of a strip, but this no longer automatically happens when manipulating the Frame Start and Frame End sliders. **Technical details:** new RNA properties `frame_start_ui` and `frame_end_ui` have been added. Changing those values (for example via the sliders, but also via Python) trigger the above behavior. The behavior of the already-existing `frame_start` and `frame_end` properties has been simplified, such that these can be set from Python without many side-effects, simplifying import of data into the NLA. 2022-02-11File headers: SPDX License migrationCampbell Barton
Use a shorter/simpler license convention, stops the header taking so much space. Follow the SPDX license specification: https://spdx.org/licenses - C/C++/objc/objc++ - Python - Shell Scripts - CMake, GNUmakefile While most of the source tree has been included - `./extern/` was left out. - `./intern/cycles` & `./intern/atomic` are also excluded because they use different header conventions. doc/license/SPDX-license-identifiers.txt has been added to list SPDX all used identifiers. See P2788 for the script that automated these edits. Reviewed By: brecht, mont29, sergey Ref D14069
2022-01-06Cleanup: anim, remove `const` declarations from pass-by-value paramsSybren A. Stüvel
Remove `const` from pass-by-value parameters in function declarations. The variables passed as parameters can never be modified by the function anyway, so declaring them as `const` is meaningless. Having the declaration there could confuse, especially as it suggests it does have a meaning, training people to write meaningless code.
2021-12-14Cleanup: resolve parameter mis-matches in doc-stringsCampbell Barton
Renamed or removed parameters which no longer exist.
2021-12-07Cleanup: move public doc-strings into headers for 'blenkernel'Campbell Barton
- Added space below non doc-string comments to make it clear these aren't comments for the symbols directly below them. - Use doxy sections for some headers. - Minor improvements to doc-strings. Ref T92709
2021-07-03Cleanup: consistent use of tags: NOTE/TODO/FIXME/XXXCampbell Barton
Also use doxy style function reference `#` prefix chars when referencing identifiers.
2021-05-04Animation: correct active track/strip pointers after copying NLA tracksSybren A. Stüvel
After copying NLA tracks from one `AnimData` to another, also ensure that the `AnimData::act_track` and `AnimData::actstrip` pointers are pointing to the copy rather than the original. This is a necessary step to allow library overrides on NLA modifiers without crashing Blender. The remapping of the pointers is done by looping over the tracks/strips and comparing pointers. Alternatively, I could update the copy functions themselves to keep track of those pointers and return them, but IMO that would produce more spaghetti (they're also used in cases where this pointer-remapping is not desired).
2020-12-08LibOverride: Add initial support for adding new NLA tracks.Bastien Montagne
Also makes NLA tracks and strips overridable. User can either edit existing strips in existing NLA tracks (but not add or remove them), and/or add new NLA tracks after those comming from the linked data. Most of the work was as usual checking operators and adding protections against illegal operations in override context. Note that since we can only rely on indices to deal with local added tracks, we forbid any local track being before any linked/original track. 2020-08-20NLA: Fix strip Sync Length moving animation dataWayde Moss

2020-08-07Code Style: use "#pragma once" in source directoryJacques Lucke
This replaces header include guards with `#pragma once`. A couple of include guards are not removed yet (e.g. `__RNA_TYPES_H__`), because they are used in other places. This patch has been generated by P1561 followed by `make format`. Differential Revision: https://developer.blender.org/D8466
2020-05-26Fix/refactor foreach_id handling of animdata.Bastien Montagne
Now callbacks for animdata, nla strip and fcurve are in their own proper BKE files (mimicking `foreach_id` callback of `IDTypeInfo`). This commit also fixes some missing handling of ID pointers (text ID and IDProperties of script fcurve modifier...).

2019-06-11Sound: Fix queries of sound infoSergey Sharybin
A lot of areas were querying sound information directly using audio handle which does not exist on an original sound IDs. This change basically makes it so it's possible to query information about given sound ID, without worrying about whether it's loaded or not: if it is needed to load it first it happens automatically (no automatically-opened handles are left behind though). While this seems a bit extreme to open files on such queries it is still better than the old situation when all sound handles were opened on file load, no matter if it's needed or not. Besides, none of the changed code paths are performance critical, just handful of tools. 2017-10-20Fix T46163: NLA properties with drivers aren't displayed as having driversJoshua Leung
While such drivers will generally get evaluated too late to be of much use during animations, it can still be useful to allow using drivers to control a whole bunch of NLA strip properties (i.e. syncing NLA strip timings via a single property/control). Keyframe insertion however is still not allowed on these properties (and an error message will now be displayed when trying to do so, instead of silently failing), as it is useless.
2015-04-14NLA: Shift-Tab toggles tweakmode AND makes that track soloJoshua Leung
To help make it more convenient to edit stashed actions, Shift-Tab (i.e. holding down the Shift key, which "tabbing" into tweakmode as usual to edit the action referenced by the active NLA strip) now flags the NLA Track that the strip occupies as being "solo" too. This allows you to use the NLA to select a stashed action, then Shift-Tab to start editing it without any other actions in the NLA stack interfering. Like the "Next/Previous Layer" tools in the Action Editor, this is designed to help with checking on stashed actions.

2014-04-28NLA Editor: Duplicate/Duplicate LinkedJoshua Leung
This commit changes the default strip duplication behaviour (Shift-D) so that it will create a copy of whatever action it uses. Previously, it was very hard, if not impossible in some cases to create a new copy of an action to start working on in the NLA. If you want the old behaviour, you'll need to use ALt-D (Linked Duplicates). (Note: Although the new Shift-D may not be so optimal in all cases, I've decided to go with this version since it aligns better with the way this works for objects. Doing the opposite for NLA would just have added to the confusion)

2011-08-07Sound clip NLA Strips for NexyonJoshua Leung
These are basically just for specifying when a speaker should fire off it's soundclip, and as such, many NLA operations are irrelevant for it. They can only be specified on object-level for speaker objects. I've still got some UI tweaks I'll need to work on in order for these to be able to be added even when the speaker doesn't have any NLA tracks yet. (EDIT: while typing this, I had an idea for how to do this, but that'll be for next commit). In the mean time, you'll need to add a single keyframe for the object, snowflake that action and delete the NLA strip before you can start editing.

2010-04-01Assorted animsys fixes/tweaks:Joshua Leung
* Fixed all the dangerous code added in 27907. Using the code there, scripters could corrupt animation files in ways which would render them useless, with channels not appearing in any animation editors, and others not getting evaluated at all. * Partial fix of bug 21818, by disabling destructive replacement of keyframes. Will followup this commit with a more comprehensive commit which gets rid of the rest of the problems, by incorporating some requests from Durian team. * Fixed problems with users being able to see+edit the name of the active Keying Set in the Scene buttons. There is still a bug though with the list widget given how the indices are now interpreted...

2010-01-24NLA Editor: Sync Action Extents with Referenced RangeJoshua Leung
This operator can be accessed from the "Action Clip" panel, and is used to include keyframes that have been added to a strip already in the NLA. Although this is not a recommended workflow, having this ability is useful at times.
2009-08-02NLA Tweaks:Joshua Leung
* "Pushing down" the action to make a new strip will now make the new strip the 'active' one. * 'Active Action' field in Animation Data panel is now editable as long as we aren't in "tweakmode"
