2019-04-27Cleanup: comments (long lines) in blenkernelCampbell Barton
2019-04-17ClangFormat: apply to source, most of internCampbell Barton
Apply clang format as proposed in T53211. For details on usage and instructions for migrating branches without conflicts, see: https://wiki.blender.org/wiki/Tools/ClangFormat
2019-03-19Cleanup: use BLI_kdtree_3d prefixCampbell Barton
Use prefix now there isn't only the 3d version.
2019-02-18doxygen: add newline after \fileCampbell Barton
While \file doesn't need an argument, it can't have another doxy command after it.
2019-02-06Cleanup: remove redundant doxygen \file argumentCampbell Barton
Move \ingroup onto same line to be more compact and make it clear the file is in the group.
2019-02-01Cleanup: remove redundant, invalid info from headersCampbell Barton
BF-admins agree to remove header information that isn't useful, to reduce noise. - BEGIN/END license blocks Developers should add non license comments as separate comment blocks. No need for separator text. - Contributors This is often invalid, outdated or misleading especially when splitting files. It's more useful to git-blame to find out who has developed the code. See P901 for script to perform these edits.
2019-01-28Cleanup: sort forward declarations of enum & structCampbell Barton

2018-06-19Particles: Support changing modifiers during particle edit modeSergey Sharybin
The idea is to only use pointers to particles in original object when creating an edit structure. The derived mesh we get from evaluated object. The rest of the commit is just keeping pointers in sync.

2018-06-13Cleanup: moar ugly G.main removal...Bastien Montagne
Note that due to RNA get/setters issue, that one may actually add some G.main usages to the total... But at least it's not hidden anymore in a very low-level, dark corner of BKE pointcache code!

- Undo that changes modes currently asserts, since undo is now screen data. Most likely we will change how object mode and workspaces work since it's not practical/maintainable at the moment. - Removed view_layer from particle settings (wasn't needed and complicated undo).
2018-03-31Undo: unified undo system w/ linear historyCampbell Barton
- Use a single undo history for all operations. - UndoType's are registered and poll the context to check if they should be used when performing an undo push. - Mode switching is used to ensure the state is correct before undo data is restored. - Some undo types accumulate changes (image & text editing) others store the state multiple times (with de-duplication). This is supported by checking UndoStack.mode `ACCUMULATE` / `STORE`. - Each undo step stores ID datablocks they use with utilities to help manage restoring correct ID's. Needed since global undo is now mixed with other modes undo. - Currently performs each undo step when going up/down history Previously this wasn't done, making history fail in some cases. This can be optimized to skip some combinations of undo steps. grease-pencil is an exception which has not been updated since it integrates undo into the draw-session. See D3113

2017-11-23Rename any instance of scene layer or render layer in code with view layerDalai Felinto
The RenderResult struct still has a listbase of RenderLayer, but that's ok since this is strictly for rendering. * Subversion bump (to 2.80.2) * DNA low level doversion (renames) - only for .blend created since 2.80 started Note: We can't use DNA_struct_elem_find or get file version in init_structDNA, so we are manually iterating over the array of the SDNA elements instead. Note 2: This doversion change with renames can be reverted in a few months. But so far it's required for 2.8 files created between October 2016 and now. 2017-11-06Depsgraph: Use explicit graph API for point cacheSergey Sharybin
2017-10-16Workspace: Move engines to workspace and Properties Editor cleanupDalai Felinto
Engine is not stored in WorkSpaces. That defines the "context" engine, which is used for the entire UI. The engine used for the poll of nodes (add node menu, new nodes when "Use Nodes") is obtained from context. Introduce a ViewRender struct for viewport settings that are defined for workspaces and scene. This struct will be populated with the hand-picked settings that can be defined per workspace as per the 2.8 design. * use_scene_settings * properties editor: workshop + organize context path Use Scene Settings ================== For viewport drawing, Workspaces have an option to use the Scene render settings (F12) instead of the viewport settings. This way users can quickly preview the final render settings, engine and View Layer. This will affect all the editors in that workspace, and it will be clearly indicated in the top-bar. Properties Editor: Add Workspace and organize context path ========================================================== We now have the properties of: Scene, Scene > Layer, Scene > World, Workspace [Scene | Workspace] > Render Layer > Object [Scene | Workspace] > Render Layer > Object > Data (...) 2017-08-07Refactor ID copying (and to some extent, ID freeing).Bastien Montagne
This will allow much finer controll over how we copy data-blocks, from full copy in Main database, to "lighter" ones (out of Main, inside an already allocated datablock, etc.). This commit also transfers a llot of what was previously handled by per-ID-type custom code to generic ID handling code in BKE_library. Hopefully will avoid in future inconsistencies and missing bits we had all over the codebase in the past. It also adds missing copying handling for a few types, most notably Scene (which where using a fully customized handling previously). Note that the type of allocation used during copying (regular in Main, allocated but outside of Main, or not allocated by ID handling code at all) is stored in ID's, which allows to handle them correctly when freeing. This needs to be taken care of with caution when doing 'weird' unusual things with ID copying and/or allocation! As a final note, while rather noisy, this commit will hopefully not break too much existing branches, old 'API' has been kept for the main part, as a wrapper around new code. Cleaning it up will happen later. Design task : T51804 Phab Diff: D2714

2016-12-28Revert particle system and point cache removal in blender2.8 branch.Lukas Tönne
This reverts commit 5aa19be91263a249ffae75573e3b32f24269d890 and b4a721af694817fa921b119df83d33ede7d7fed0. Due to postponement of particle system rewrite it was decided to put particle code back into the 2.8 branch for the time being.
2016-08-11Fix T49004 and motion blur of cloth, softbody, etc past the end frame.Alexander Gavrilov
Point cache read code contains checks designed to prevent it reading stale data when the relevant simulation code should instead compute the next frame from the previous one. However in some situations like motion blur subframes the simulation can't possibly do it and just exits. This causes completely incorrect motion blur at or after the last cached frame. To fix, add a parameter that tells the cache code whether it should apply the checks and exit, or read what it can even if stale (true means exactly same as old behavior). Doing this in cache rather than clamping the frame number better in the caller lets it handle the case of incomplete cache that stops before the official last frame. 2016-01-23Implementation of OpenVDB as a possible cache format for smokeKévin Dietrich
simulations. This commits implements OpenVDB as an extra cache format in the Point Cache system for smoke simulations. Compilation with the library is turned off by default for now, and shall be enabled when the library is present. A documentation of its doings is available here: http:// wiki.blender.org/index.php/User:Kevindietrich/OpenVDBSmokeExport. 2013-01-23rigidbody: Add point cache supportSergej Reich
Add read/write/interpolate functions. In order to get rigid body point cache id from object it's now required to pass the scene to BKE_ptcache_ids_from_object(). Rigid body cache is drawn in the orange color of the bullet logo.
2013-01-23sim: Remove "continue physics" codeSergej Reich
This was left over from 2.4x days and is not used anymore. Now simulations are always interactive.
2012-09-27Fix #32667: Curve softbodies doesn't render animation (cycles)Sergey Sharybin
Issue was caused by cycles being duplicated curve objects before converting them to mesh. This duplication will loose pointcache which resulted in object not being properly deformed.
