2022-05-03Fix T97718: Crash using "Text on Curve"Hans Goudey
8e4c3c6a2414 mistakenly used the `vec` argument of `BKE_where_on_path` like it was optional. Fix by making that argument optional too.
2022-04-14Cleanup: Make curve deform argument optionalHans Goudey
The "dir" argument to `BKE_where_on_path` was only actually used in a few places. It's easier to see where those are if there isn't always a dummy argument.
2022-02-18Cleanup: Rename original curve object type enumHans Goudey
This commit renames enums related the "Curve" object type and ID type to add `_LEGACY` to the end. The idea is to make our aspirations clearer in the code and to avoid ambiguities between `CURVE` and `CURVES`. Ref T95355 To summarize for the record, the plans are: - In the short/medium term, replace the `Curve` object data type with `Curves` - In the longer term (no immediate plans), use a proper data block for 3D text and surfaces. 2022-02-11File headers: SPDX License migrationCampbell Barton
Use a shorter/simpler license convention, stops the header taking so much space. Follow the SPDX license specification: https://spdx.org/licenses - C/C++/objc/objc++ - Python - Shell Scripts - CMake, GNUmakefile While most of the source tree has been included - `./extern/` was left out. - `./intern/cycles` & `./intern/atomic` are also excluded because they use different header conventions. doc/license/SPDX-license-identifiers.txt has been added to list SPDX all used identifiers. See P2788 for the script that automated these edits. Reviewed By: brecht, mont29, sergey Ref D14069
2021-12-07Cleanup: move public doc-strings into headers for 'blenkernel'Campbell Barton
- Added space below non doc-string comments to make it clear these aren't comments for the symbols directly below them. - Use doxy sections for some headers. - Minor improvements to doc-strings. Ref T92709
2021-11-25Fix T93338: Curve Guide force field crashPhilipp Oeser
Caused by {rBcf2baa585cc8}. For Curve Guide force fields to work, the `Path Animation` option has to be enabled. With it disabled, we are lacking the necessary `anim_path_accum_length` data initialized [done by `BKE_anim_path_calc_data`] which `BKE_where_on_path` relies on since above commit. Now just check for this before using it - and return early otherwise. Prior to said commit, `BKE_where_on_path` would equally return early with a similar message, so that is expected behavior here. 2021-07-15Cleanup: replace BLI_assert(!"text") with BLI_assert_msg(0, "text")Campbell Barton
This shows the text as part of the assertion message.

2021-04-09Cleanup: use const for BKE_where_on_path and related structsCampbell Barton
2021-04-08Fix T81707: Spline IK Joints "Floating" above curveSebastian Parborg
The issue was that where_on_path uses a resampled curve to get the data from the curve. This leads to disconnects between the curve the user sees and the evaluated location data. To fix this we simply use the actual curve data the user can see. The older code needed a cleanup either way as there were hacks in other parts of the code trying to work around some brokenness. This is now fixed and we no longer need to clamp the evaluation range to 0-1 or make helper functions to make it do what we actually want. 2020-06-13Cleanup: use const arguments to deform functionsCampbell Barton
This changes curve deform code not to set the objects inverse matrix, this shouldn't cause problems as it's not used elsewhere afterwards.
2020-06-13Cleanup: use 'r_' prefix for return argumentsCampbell Barton
Also improve alignment.
2020-06-13Cleanup: comments, use bool return valueCampbell Barton
2020-06-12Cleanup: use BKE_ prefix for deform functionsCampbell Barton
2020-04-03Cleanup: split `BKE_anim.h` and `anim.c` into smaller piecesSybren A. Stüvel
The files are now split up into the following sections: - `BKE_anim_path.h` and `anim_path.c` for path/curve functions. - `BKE_anim_visualization.h` and `anim_visualizationanim_path.c` for animation visualization (mostly motion paths). - `BKE_duplilist.h` for DupliList function declarations. These were already implemented in `object_dupli.c`, so they were rather out of place being declared in `BKE_anim.h` in the first place. No functional changes.
