2012-02-01remove old code and use macro for latt_bp() functionCampbell Barton
2012-02-01calc_curve_deform was using axis range of 1-6, but other parts of the code ↵Campbell Barton
use 0-5. (confusion here casued an error in the code). make calc_curve_deform use 0-5 too, only minor changes needed.
2012-02-01fix incorrect neg axis check for the curve deform modifier's boundbox.Campbell Barton
2012-02-01fix [#30037] Curve Modifier doesn't work within -X -Y -Z translation in such ↵Campbell Barton
cases? the curve modifier was applying the offet between the mesh and the curve object twice. for positive axis it was (offset+offser), for neg axis (offset-offset) --- giving no offset, in both cases not very useful.
2012-02-01fix inconsistancy with curve deform bounds being set differently when vertex ↵Campbell Barton
groups were used.
2012-02-01minor cleanup made while looking into bug report (having vector size in ↵Campbell Barton
comments is silly, may as well have in declaration)
2011-12-16Math lib: matrix multiplication order fix for two functions that wereBrecht Van Lommel
inconsistent with similar functions & math notation: mul_m4_m4m4(R, B, A) => mult_m4_m4m4(R, A, B) mul_m3_m3m4(R, B, A) => mult_m3_m3m4(R, A, B) For branch maintainers, it should be relatively simple to fix things manually, it's also possible run this script after merging to do automatic replacement: http://www.pasteall.org/27459/python
2011-12-04add a new object member to store the dsize, since with my recent commit ↵Campbell Barton
broke forward compatibility. now the new values are copied into 'dscale' and existing ones remain. this is annoying since now we have dsize and dscale, will look into a way to deprecate struct members next.
2011-11-30fix [#29459] Crash making a linked object group localCampbell Barton
was an error with make-local refactor & path updating.
2011-11-07minor editsCampbell Barton
- remove unneeded type check from convert grease pencil operator. - correct some error prints & use __func__. - make copy_libblock take an ID* argument rather than void*.
2011-11-05use (const char*) rather than (char*) where possible.Campbell Barton
also removed some unused function definitons.
2011-11-01added path traversal flag - BPATH_TRAVERSE_SKIP_MULTIFILE,Campbell Barton
so path manipulation functions dont run multiple times on the same path in the case of sequence strips where the one directory is used as the base for many images.
2011-10-27use path remapping for all make local functions, patch from Alex Fraser with ↵Campbell Barton
changes.
2011-10-27edits ontop of Alex's patch from r41292.Campbell Barton
pass main rather than use G.main when naming from -> to relative paths.

2011-05-28fixed "rather then" -> "rather than" typos all over the placeM.G. Kishalmi
2011-04-26fix [#27178] Material links lost when making mesh data localCampbell Barton
- making local object data - Curve/Mesh/MBall lost references to linked materials. - joining a linked mesh object into a local one lost the link. As well as these reported bugs, checked all local functions for consistency/correctness and found other cases which would also fail. - making local metaball didn't ensure unique ID name. - make_local_armature() was missing check for object users - main body of code would never run. - local particles didn't set the dupli-group or textures to extern. checked all local functions for consistency/correctness.
2011-04-21following on from last commit r36263.Campbell Barton
copying metaball, lattice and armature datablocks while in editmode could segfault when they were freed, NULL these pointers on copy.
2011-03-30fix [#26682] Accessing weight sometimes crashes blenderCampbell Barton
also replace object type check from vgroup_edit_lattice() with an assert since all callers check for lattice type.
2011-03-27subsurf, derived mesh and other misc files: floats were being implicitly ↵Campbell Barton
promoted to doubles, adjust to use floats.

2011-02-13fix for warnings from Sparse static source code checker, mostly BKE/BLI and ↵Campbell Barton
python functions. - use NULL rather then 0 where possible (makes code & function calls more readable IMHO). - set static variables and functions (exposed some unused vars/funcs). - use func(void) rather then func() for definitions.
2011-01-07remove references to BKE_utildefines where its not needed.Campbell Barton
- move GS() define into DNA_ID.h - add BLI_utildefines as an automatic include with makesrna generated files.
2011-01-07split BKE_utildefines.h, now it only has blender specific defines like GS() ↵Campbell Barton
MAKE_ID, FILE_MAXDIR, moved the generic defines to BLI_utildefines.h. no functional changes.
2010-12-13Lattices now have AnimDataJoshua Leung
This allows manual (point by point) animation of their control verts, although many other settings cannot really be animated with any visible effects yet. Interestingly, lattices also had IPO block pointers, though they were never really used (AFAIK). Todo: - Animation Editor support has yet to be added. I've got a few other things to add to, so will group those changes together.
2010-11-17use 'const char *' by default with RNA functions except when the value is ↵Campbell Barton
flagged as PROP_THICK_WRAP. Also use const char in many other parts of blenders code. Currently this gives warnings for setting operator id, label and description since these are an exception and allocated beforehand.
2010-10-08bugfix [#21483] Twisting when Dupliframing a Surface Circle (Nurbs) along a ↵Campbell Barton
Curve. use the curve's twist for follow path constraint and parent-path.
2010-10-08move tracking functions into math_rotation.c (no functional changes)Campbell Barton
2010-08-10- Enable shape key switching in edit mode for curves, surfaces and latticiesSergey Sharybin
- Disable changing of lattice size if there are shape keys
2010-08-06bugfix [#19525] Curve modifier moves mesh geometry firstCampbell Barton
more of a request then a bug but shows up a strange limitation with curve deform modifier, The mesh bounding box would set the deform axis start/end to map the deformation of the curve to. This means it ignored offset in the object location and object data location (you could use a dummy vertex to trick it). Old files wont change, added an option (next to stretch), called 'Bounds Clamp', old files have this behavior but newly made curves have it disabled. Double checked this gives useful results with stretch on/off and negative axis.
2010-08-06Minor cleanup to lattice.c while looking into [#19525] Curve modifier moves ↵Campbell Barton
mesh geometry first A subtle change with the curve deform modifier is when a vgroup is used: the mesh bounds were being calculated based on the verts in the group (ignoring their weight). Now ignore verts weighted at 0.
2010-08-04include cleanup, no functional changesCampbell Barton
- removed DNA_brush_types.h from DNA_scene_types.h (and some other similar cases) - removed DNA_wave_types.h (never used) - removed Main.wave
2010-06-28Fix #20965: metaballs partticles and volume material crash renderingSergey Sharybin
Fix #21187: 2.5svn26947 - particles + meta sphere = crash in rendering Use separated displists for mballs in view3d and render stuff. Do not recalculate displist for view3d while rendering - mball.c uses several global variables which shouldn't be accepted from parallel threads.
2010-06-13use utility functions for vertex groups, no functional changesCampbell Barton

2009-11-25Sculpt: MultiresBrecht Van Lommel
* Displacement coordinates are now stored differently, as a grid per face corner. This means there is duplication of coordinates, especially at low subdivision levels, but the simpler implementation justifies it I think. * ToDo: conversion of existing multires files (2.4x or 2.5x), loading them may even crash now. * Editmode preservation/interpolation code also has not been updated yet. * Multires now works on the CCGDerivedMesh grids instead of CDDerivedMesh, which should be more memory efficient. * There are still bad memory peaks (if you're using 32bit) when subdividing or propagating displacements. Though at least there should be no huge memory blocks allocated, which windows is now to have trouble with. * Still found some weird spike artifacts at lower multires levels, some also happening before this commit. Perhaps computation of tangents needs to be tweaked more. * Multires modifier now has viewport, sculpt and render levels. Also the levels have been made consistent with subsurf, previously the same level of subdivision was one less for multires. * Both multires and subsurf modifier now can have their subdivision level set to 0 for no subdivision.
2009-11-10Math LibBrecht Van Lommel
* Convert all code to use new functions. * Branch maintainers may want to skip this commit, and run this conversion script instead, if they use a lot of math functions in new code: http://www.pasteall.org/9052/python
2009-10-22Shape KeysBrecht Van Lommel
Blended shape keys can now be displayed & edited in edit mode. This is much like showing an armature modifier in edit mode, and shape keys now are a applied as a virtual modifier (for mesh & lattice only, curve doesn't fit in the stack well due to tilt). The main thing missing still is being able to switch between the active shape key in edit mode, that's more complicated.. but the weights of other shapes can be edited while in edit mode. One thing to be careful about is that this does automatic crazyspace correction, which means that if you edit a shape key with a low value, the actual vertices will be moved to correct for that and actually move a (potentially much) longer distance. Also includes some UI tweaks, mainly placing some buttons horizontally since the vertical list was getting too long.
2009-10-22Shape KeysBrecht Van Lommel
Internal change to not apply the shape keys to the Mesh vertex coordinates, but rather use it as part of the derivedmesh/displist evaluation. This only has one practical advantage right now, which is that you can now make a linked duplicate and pin it's shape key to a different shape than the first object. Further, this makes shape keys correctly fit into the modifier stack design, which will help implement some other features later. Also it means the mesh vertex coordinates are now really the orco's.
2009-10-01Use curve twist for the CurveDeform modifier and bones (anything that uses ↵Campbell Barton
curve_deform_verts() and curve_deform_vector()). So means minimum twist and twist smoothing are now used. the Z up quaternion from the path is rotated to match the up axis given. There was no logical rule for the up vector, some cases flipped the normals when used with the CurveDeform modifier. Use the default X-Up behavior and match other settings with this. (comments explain this in detail). - Interpolating quaternions didn't work in some cases, disabled for now. - 'no_rot_axis' is different from in 2.4x since it now removes rotation from the tilt whereas before it edited the axis before calculating the tilt.
2009-09-12Use curve radius for pathsCampbell Barton
- use_radius option, off by default for 2.4x files, on by default on new curves. - curve deform modifiers (think tentacles) - follow path (parent mode and constraint) - curve guides - added back Alt+S to scale point radius - Mat3Scale and Mat4Scale arithb.c functions to make a new uniform scale matrix. - TODO, effectors, looks like they have no way to scale from the radius yet.
2009-09-12new struct PathPoint for each path element (replaces float[4]), Paths now ↵Campbell Barton
store radius and quaternion Added optional quat and radius args to anim.c's where_on_path(...), currently unused. also cleanup some warnings.
