BF-admins agree to remove header information that isn't useful,
to reduce noise.
- BEGIN/END license blocks
Developers should add non license comments as separate comment blocks.
No need for separator text.

This is often invalid, outdated or misleading
especially when splitting files.
It's more useful to git-blame to find out who has developed the code.

Compared to previous implementation, the following has been changed:
* Threshold: is now an absolute value. This allows a comparison with e.g. radii
that are much larger than selected radius. This is also consistent with
`CURVE_OT_select_similar`
* Radius in world space is the average of the radius scaled in x, y and z
directions
* Since MetaBalls are symmetrical, rotation is only considered from 0 to π/2.
So for example rotations of 90° and -90° are considered equal.
This is also consistent with the way `CURVE_OT_select_similar` works.

`BKE_mball_is_basis_for()` was processing whole name, when we can
actually rule out most of cases by just checking third char of the ID
names first, which is much, much cheaper.
Even though MBalls are not much used nowadays, that's a nice
optimization when this is called over a whole Main database full of
meta-balls objects...

returning NULL `ob->bb`...

DATA datablock must evaluation must never depend on object it is
used for. If there is something what depends on an object, it must
be done on object level.
At least the actual callback was empty.

The depsgraph was always created within a fixed evaluation context. Passing
both risks the depsgraph and evaluation context not matching, and it
complicates the Python API where we'd have to expose both which is not so
easy to understand.
This also removes the global evaluation context in main, which assumed there
to be a single active scene and view layer.

The RenderResult struct still has a listbase of RenderLayer, but that's ok
since this is strictly for rendering.

* DNA low level doversion (renames) - only for .blend created since 2.80 started
Note: We can't use DNA_struct_elem_find or get file version in init_structDNA,
so we are manually iterating over the array of the SDNA elements instead.
Note 2: This doversion change with renames can be reverted in a few months. But
so far it's required for 2.8 files created between October 2016 and now.

Finally, bases are all using the latest, newest SceneLayer bases.

2.8x branch added bContext arg in many places,
pass eval-context instead since its not simple to reason about what
what nested functions do when they can access and change almost anything.
Also use const to prevent unexpected modifications.
This fixes crash loading files with shadows,
since off-screen buffers use a NULL context for rendering.

In some cases users may want to disable this option
to avoid changing other properties besides vertex locations.

This will allow much finer controll over how we copy data-blocks, from
full copy in Main database, to "lighter" ones (out of Main, inside an
already allocated datablock, etc.).
This commit also transfers a llot of what was previously handled by
per-ID-type custom code to generic ID handling code in BKE_library.
Hopefully will avoid in future inconsistencies and missing bits we had
all over the codebase in the past.
It also adds missing copying handling for a few types, most notably
Scene (which where using a fully customized handling previously).
Note that the type of allocation used during copying (regular in Main,
allocated but outside of Main, or not allocated by ID handling code at
all) is stored in ID's, which allows to handle them correctly when
freeing. This needs to be taken care of with caution when doing 'weird'
unusual things with ID copying and/or allocation!
As a final note, while rather noisy, this commit will hopefully not
break too much existing branches, old 'API' has been kept for the main
part, as a wrapper around new code. Cleaning it up will happen later.

A little note about them. Original Blender code would try to keep them
in sync through the code, juggling flags back and forth. This will now
be handled by Depsgraph, keeping Object and Bases more separated
throughout the non-rendering code.
Scene.base is being cleared in doversion, and the old viewport drawing
code was poorly converted to use the new bases while the new viewport
code doesn't get merged and replace the old one.

Things like `BLI_uniquename` had nothing, but really nothing to do in
BLI_path_util files!
Also, got rid of length limitation in `BLI_uniquename_cb`, we can use
alloca here to avoid overhead of malloc while keeping free size (within
reasonable limits of course).

BKE_id_copy_ensure_local function.
|
|
Turns out most BKE_foo_make_local datablock-specific functions are actually doing
exactly the same thing, only two currently need special additional operations
(object and brush ones). So added a BKE_id_make_local_generic instead
of copying same code over and over.
Also, changed a bit how make_local works in case we are localizing a whole library.
We need to do the 'remap' step (from old linked ID to new local one) in the second loop,
otherwise we miss some dependencies. This fixes main part of T48907.

Idea looked good, but we have too much custom situations here (some half-fake-sub-ID
being copied with their 'owner', animdata, etc.), let's let datablock copy functions
handle that themselves.
Also allows to safely call BKE_id_expand_local from all copy functions now (only when
copying linked data).
