This patch changes a couple of things in the video output encoding.
{F362527}
- Clearer separation between container and codec. No more "format", as this is
too ambiguous. As a result, codecs were removed from the container list.
- Added FFmpeg speed presets, so the user can choosen from the range "Very
slow" to "Ultra fast". By default no preset is used.
- Added Constant Rate Factor (CRF) mode, which allows changing the bit-rate
depending on the desired quality and the input. This generally produces the
best quality videos, at the expense of not knowing the exact bit-rate and
file size.
- Added optional maximum of non-B-frames between B-frames (`max_b_frames`).
- Presets were adjusted for these changes, and new presets added. One of the
new presets is [recommended](https://trac.ffmpeg.org/wiki/Encode/VFX#H.264)
for reviewing videos, as it allows players to scrub through it easily. Might
be nice in weeklies. This preset also requires control over the
`max_b_frames` setting.
GUI-only changes:
- Renamed "MPEG" in the output file format menu with "FFmpeg", as this is more
accurate. After all, FFmpeg is used when this option is chosen, which can
also output non-MPEG files.
- Certain parts of the GUI are disabled when not in use:
- bit rate options are not used when a constant rate factor is given.
- audio bitrate & volume are not used when no audio is exported.
Note that I did not touch `BKE_ffmpeg_preset_set()`. There are currently two
preset systems for FFmpeg (`BKE_ffmpeg_preset_set()` and the Python preset
system). Before we do more work on `BKE_ffmpeg_preset_set()`, I think it's a
good idea to determine whether we want to keep it at all.
After this patch has been accepted, I'd be happy to go through the code and
remove any then-obsolete bits, such as the handling of "XVID" as a container
format.

I don’t think any other codec enum makes sense here, so probably just
an extra copy/paste. Here are the video codecs:
AV_CODEC_ID_NONE
AV_CODEC_ID_MPEG4
AV_CODEC_ID_MJPEG
AV_CODEC_ID_DNXHD
AV_CODEC_ID_MPEG2VIDEO
AV_CODEC_ID_MPEG1VIDEO
AV_CODEC_ID_DVVIDEO
AV_CODEC_ID_THEORA
AV_CODEC_ID_PNG <— alpha
AV_CODEC_ID_QTRLE <— alpha
AV_CODEC_ID_FFV1 <— alpha (if enabled)
AV_CODEC_ID_HUFFYUV <— alpha
AV_CODEC_ID_H264
AV_CODEC_ID_FLV1

While it's not something we'll be using for the official release,
it's nice to support new libraries at least on "it compiles" level,
so it's not that many frustrated developers around.
Nexyon, please have a look into Audaspace changes :)

- audio_stream wasn't freed.
- audio/video stream + context weren't freed on failure.

- rename WITH_EXTERNAL_AUDASPACE to WITH_SYSTEM_AUDASPACE.
- rename C/PYAUDASPACE to AUDASPACE_C/PY
- simplifying cmake defines and includes.
- fixing include paths and enabling WITH_SYSTEM_AUDASPACE for windows.
- fixing scons building.
- other minor build system fixes.

|
|
|
- Added the cmake configuration option WITH_EXTERNAL_AUDASPACE.
- Fixes to build without standalone library as well.

I/O
* Save/Open Multi-View (OpenEXR, Stereo3D, individual views) images
Scene Render Views
* Ability to have an arbitrary number of views in the scene
Missing Bits
============
First rule of Multi-View bug report: If something is not working as it should *when Views is off* this is a severe bug, do mention this in the report.
Second rule is, if something works *when Views is off* but doesn't (or crashes) when *Views is on*, this is a important bug. Do mention this in the report.
Everything else is likely small todos, and may wait until we are sure none of the above is happening.
Apart from that there are those known issues:
* Compositor Image Node poorly working for Multi-View OpenEXR
(this was working prefectly before the 'Use Multi-View' functionality)
* Selecting camera from Multi-View when looking from camera is problematic
* Animation Playback (ctrl+F11) doesn't support stereo formats
* Wrong filepath when trying to play back animated scene
* Viewport Rendering doesn't support Multi-View
* Overscan Rendering
* Fullscreen display modes need to warn the user
* Object copy should be aware of views suffix

range and extra frames.
Issue here is that the movie backend would unconditionally use the start
frame of the scene instead of the preview frame. Solved by passing an
explicit "preview" argument.
Strictly speaking, the preview argument is part of the renderdata
struct, that is also passed to the code, but when rendering the final
result we want to unconditionally render the full range regardless of
the preview setting of the render structure.
However, OpenGL rendering does use the preview range so we need to
account for that when making those exports.
This is also a nice chance to correct the filenames, which still used
the full range.

Makes usage of those funcs much more clear, we even had mixed '!strcmp(foo, bar)'
and 'strcmp(foo, bar) == 0' in several places...
|
|
More like a feature request but was simple to support.

Issue was caused by the change in FFmpeg options: some of them were
renamed, some moved to another class.
Made some tweaks to how options are passed to the FFmpeg which now
seems to be the same as ffmpeg.c.
|
|
Issue was caused by missing GLOBALHEADER flag set for audio stream.
Also made it so frame is getting filled with default, that's what
happening in ffmpeg.c.

avcodec_encode_video() has been replaced with avcodec_encode_video2()
in new libavcodec versions.

CODEC_ID_* have been replaced with AV_CODEC_ID_* in new libavcodec
versions.
Update the code to use those new identifiers.
Added a compatibility code to ffmpeg_compat.h
|
|
Issue was caused by wrong PTS calculation. This commit
makes this calculation closer to what's happening in
FFmpeg itself.
Seems everything is working now including newer FFmpeg,
but there's one thing which still doesn't work: writing
avi files with h264 codec and Vorbis audio doesn't play
correct in mplayer here. But didn't manage to get this
working even using FFmpeg CLI, so this might be just a
bug in FFmpeg/mplayer. Since this file works fine in
blender just fine wouldn't consider this is crucial thing
to look into at this moment.

* Removed audio-only options from ffmpeg render settings (added some versionning code too)!
* Moved the Mixdon button from the Scene->Audio pannel to the Render->Render panel.

CHANGE: writing an animation in the ogg movie format now defaults to .ogv (ogg/video) which is recommended by Xiph.org for video
CHANGE: for .ogg files a check is added whether Blender can read it as a movie (is avi or ffmpeg movie), otherwise assume audio
CHANGE: the anim player now filters for the same extensions as the file browser

After planar codecs support minimal FFmpeg was
bumped to 0.10 which was not so much nice because
it was only released only later last year.
Didn't find a way to make compatibility code local
in ffmpeg_compat, so there're some ifdefs in
audaspace and writeffmpeg.
Not entirely happy, but having a bit of ifdefs in
code better than lots of real PITA for platform
maintainers.

New ffmpeg versions accept align = 0 as a parameter and will set it to 1
automatically, but older ones need to pass align = 1.
