2022-05-04Nodes: Add general Combine/Separate Color nodesHallam Roberts
Inspired by D12936 and D12929, this patch adds general purpose "Combine Color" and "Separate Color" nodes to Geometry, Compositor, Shader and Texture nodes. - Within Geometry Nodes, it replaces the existing "Combine RGB" and "Separate RGB" nodes. - Within Compositor Nodes, it replaces the existing "Combine RGBA/HSVA/YCbCrA/YUVA" and "Separate RGBA/HSVA/YCbCrA/YUVA" nodes. - Within Texture Nodes, it replaces the existing "Combine RGBA" and "Separate RGBA" nodes. - Within Shader Nodes, it replaces the existing "Combine RGB/HSV" and "Separate RGB/HSV" nodes. Python addons have not been updated to the new nodes yet. **New shader code** In node_color.h, color.h and gpu_shader_material_color_util.glsl, missing methods hsl_to_rgb and rgb_to_hsl are added by directly converting existing C code. They always produce the same result. **Old code** As requested by T96219, old nodes still exist but are not displayed in the add menu. This means Python scripts can still create them as usual. Otherwise, versioning replaces the old nodes with the new nodes when opening .blend files. Differential Revision: https://developer.blender.org/D14034
2022-03-22Cleanup: refactor passing of color management settings for image saveBrecht Van Lommel
Make a copy of ImageFormatData that contains the effective color management settings, and pass that along to the various functions. This will make it possible to add more complex logic later. For compositing nodes, passing along view and display settings through many functions made it harder to add additional settings, so just get those from the scene now. 2022-02-09Added a "Sharpen Less" kernel for the Filter Compositor nodeColin Basnett
Added a new "Sharpen Less" kernel to the filter compositor node. The intent here is to provide a much less aggressive sharpening filter that can't simply be solved by toning down the factor on the existing sharpen filter. The existing "Sharpen" filter uses a "box" kernel: ``` -1 -1 -1 -1 9 -1 -1 -1 -1 ``` The new "Sharpen Less" filter uses a "diamond" kernel: ``` 0 -1 0 -1 5 -1 0 -1 0 ``` The difference between the two is clear to see in the following side-by-side: {F12847431} Below shows the difference between the filtering kernels as applied to a B&W render of Suzanne with the UV grid as a texture. The left side of the render using the existing "Sharpen" filter, and the right side showing the new "Sharpen Less" filter. Notice that the left side is more aggressive in accentuating localized contrasts across the image. This can lead to what appears to be aliasing or striations in the resulting image: {F12847429} https://developer.blender.org/T95275 https://blender.community/c/rightclickselect/57Kq/?sorting=hot {F12847428} Reviewed By: #compositing, jbakker Differential Revision: https://developer.blender.org/D14019
2022-02-09Cleanup: use consistent copyright location, move descriptionsCampbell Barton
Order copyright immediately after the license block, this was done almost everywhere with a few exceptions. Remove authors from a few files (we had already removed "Contributors" section however with old patches being applied this gets added back in). Also move descriptive text into the doxygen comment block under \file. In some cases remove the text as it was accidentally copied.

2021-09-28Compositor: Add support for canvas compositingManuel Castilla
This commit adds functionality for operations that require pixel translation or resizing on "Full Frame" mode, allowing to adjust their canvas. It fixes most cropping issues in translate, scale, rotate and transform nodes by adjusting their canvas to the result, instead of the input canvas. Operations output buffer is still always on (0,0) position for easier image algorithm implementation, even when the canvas is not. Current limitations (will be addressed on bcon2): - Displayed translation in Viewer node is limited to 6000px. - When scaling up the canvas size is limited to the scene resolution size x 1.5 . From that point it crops. If none of these limitations are hit, the Viewer node displays the full input with any translation. Differential Revision: https://developer.blender.org/D12466

2021-08-23Fix T89998: Cryptomatte node output values doubled with Multi-ViewManuel Castilla
When using a Cryptomatte node and selecting 2 views in Multi-View, its output values are doubled. When selecting 3 tripled and so on. This causes incorrect compositing results for all the views. The node creates an input operation for each rendered cryptomatte pass. In Multi-View, passes are rendered for each view but compositor is executed per view and should only create operations for those corresponding to the current view being executed. Otherwise duplicated operations add up later in cryptomatte operation. Reviewed By: jbakker Maniphest Tasks: T89998 Differential Revision: https://developer.blender.org/D12216

2021-06-16Fix: Image node alpha socket converted to operations twiceManuel Castilla
On selecting a multi-layer image with a combined pass, a "Combined" socket is created and default combined pass socket "Image" is disabled by setting `SOCK_UNAVAIL` flag. When converting into operations, `ImageNode` converts alpha socket on finding any socket with a combined pass without checking the flag. Since commit rB93e2491ee724 an assertion fails when mapping sockets twice because now map `add_new` is used. Reviewed By: jbakker Differential Revision: https://developer.blender.org/D11566

The view layer was always set to 0. This patch increments it.
2021-06-01Compositor: Full-frame base systemManuel Castilla
This patch adds the base code needed to make the full-frame system work for both current tiled/per-pixel implementation of operations and full-frame. Two execution models: - Tiled: Current implementation. Renders execution groups in tiles from outputs to input. Not all operations are buffered. Runs the tiled/per-pixel implementation. - FullFrame: All operations are buffered. Fully renders operations from inputs to outputs. Runs full-frame implementation of operations if available otherwise the current tiled/per-pixel. Creates output buffers on first read and free them as soon as all its readers have finished, reducing peak memory usage of complex/long trees. Operations are multi-threaded but do not run in parallel as Tiled (will be done in another patch). This should allow us to convert operations to full-frame in small steps with the system already working and solve the problem of high memory usage. FullFrame breaking changes respect Tiled system, mainly: - Translate, Rotate, Scale, and Transform take effect immediately instead of next buffered operation. - Any sampling is always done over inputs instead of last buffered operation. 2021-05-31Fix T88666: Cryptomatte: EXR sequence does not update when scrubbing the ↵Jeroen Bakker
timeline. Cause is that initializing the cryptomatte session would reset the current frame of an image sequence. The solution is to always use the scene current frame so it resets to the correct frame. This was a todo that wasn't solved after it landed in master. Needs to be backported to 2.93.
2021-04-12Fix T74680: Incorrect mixing in Glare nodeSzymon Ulatowski
The mixing function was designed to give correct results for Mix values of -1, 0, and +1, but the behavior between these points was not linear. This is unavoidable, because the function depends on both Mix and Mix^2 (by multiplying value and mf) so they could not cancel out completely. The new formula simply calculates the weighted sum without trying to invent a smooth function. Value for MixGlareOperation is now passed directly without scaling because it is then easier to use. Note that the previous formula performed max() twice for both input image and the result, now there is just one max() per channel because the glare input can't be negative. 2021-04-12Fix T87252: File output node broken with more than 4 inputs.Jeroen Bakker
In recent refactor the operator sockets were migrated from a std::list to a blender::Vector. The way how the file output node created the sockets along mapping the sockets could lead to storing incorrect pointers. This patch fixes this by defining and mapping the sockets in separate loops.
