2021-11-24Animation: allow manually setting the intended playback range for actions.Alexander Gavrilov
Some operations, e.g. adding a new action strip to NLA, require knowing the active frame range of an action. However, currently it can only be deduced by scanning the keyframes of the curves within it. This is not ideal if e.g. curves are staggered for overlap. As suggested by Nathan Vegdahl in comments to T54724, this patch adds Action properties that allow manually specifying its active frame range. The settings are exposed via a panel in the Dopesheet and Action Editor. When enabled, the range is highlighted in the background using a striped fill to distinguish it from the solid filled regular playback range. When set, the frame range is used when adding or updating NLA tracks, and by add-ons using `Action.frame_range`, e.g. FBX exporter. Differential Revision: https://developer.blender.org/D11803
2021-09-10Anim: Keylist drawing optimization by using arrays.Jeroen Bakker
Change data structure of keylists. Reducing the balancing overhead and therefore increases performance. | **Function** | **Master** | **Patch** | |`draw_summary_channel`| 0.202105s| 0.083874s | When adding items to the keylist it will store it in a linked list. This linked list is accompanied with the length (key_len) and a `last_accessed_column`. last_accessed_column is a cursor that improve the performance when adding new items as they are mostly ordered by frame numbers. last_accessed_column is reset when a new fcurve/mask/... is added to the keylist. Before searching or array access. the listbase needs to be converted to an array. `ED_keylist_prepare_for_direct_access`. After that the caller can use `ED_keylist_find_*` or `ED_keylist_array*` functions. The internal array can also be accessed via the `ED_keylist_listbase` function. The items inside the array link to the previous/next item in the list. Reviewed By: sybren Differential Revision: https://developer.blender.org/D12052

2021-08-03Cleanup: Hide implementation details for ED_keyframe_keylist.Jeroen Bakker
For T78995 we want to change the data structure of keylists to improve performance. (Probably a Vector with bin-search capabilities). This patch hides the internal structure of the keylists behind `AnimKeylist` structure. This allows us to change the internals without 'breaking' where it is being used. The change adds functions to create, free, find and walk over the keylist. Reviewed By: sybren Maniphest Tasks: T78995 Differential Revision: https://developer.blender.org/D11974

2020-10-15Fix T81743: Changed behaviour in RGB Curves node interpolationSybren A. Stüvel
Restore the old `correct_bezpart()` (pre-rBda95d1d851b4) function as `BKE_curve_correct_bezpart()`, and use that where the old behaviour was desired (that is, curve maps like used by the RGB Curves shader node). The new (post-rBda95d1d851b4) function is also renamed to `BKE_fcurve_correct_bezpart()` to avoid confusion.

2020-03-27Fix T74927: Slow playback using Auto NormalizationPhilipp Oeser
Caused by rBedb3b7a323a1. Using evaluate_fcurve_only_curve actually causes quite a bit of slowdown [6x] compared to bezier forward differencing [which was used prior to rBedb3b7a323a1]. But full fcurve evaluation is desired with Dynamic Interpolation Effects [Back/Elastic] since their min/max will not be captured with forward differencing. So now gain back speed [using bezier forward differencing] and only do the full fcurve evaluation for dynamic interpolation effects. 2018-10-29Dope Sheet: new option to display keyframe interpolation mode and extremes.Alexander Gavrilov
With the new automatic handle algorithm, it is possible to do a lot of the animation via keyframes without touching the curves. It is however necessary to change the keyframe interpolation and handle types in certain cases. Currently the dopesheet/action editor allows changing the types, but does not show them in any way. To fix, add a new menu option to display this information. For handle type, it is represented using the shape of the key icons: diamond for Free, clipped diamond for Aligned, square for Vector, circle for Auto Clamp, and cirle with dot for Automatic. Non-bezier interpolation is a property of intervals between keys, so it is marked by drawing lines, similar to holds. In this initial version, only the fact of non-bezier interpolation is displayed, without distinguishing types. For summaries, the line is drawn at half alpha if not all curves in the group are non-bezier. In addition, it is sometimes helpful to know the general direction of change of the curve, and which keys are extremes. This commit also adds an option to highlight extremes, based on comparing the keyed values with adjacent keys. Half-intensity display is used for overshot bezier extremes, or non-uniform summaries. 2018-10-16Dope Sheet: rewrite computation of keyframe hold blocks.Alexander Gavrilov
Computation of hold blocks was done by storing ranges (with start and an end, and likely overlapping) in a tree keyed only by the block start. This cannot work well, and there even were comments that it is not reliable in complex cases. A much better way to deal with it is to split all ranges so they don't overlap. The most thorough way of doing this is to split at all and every known keyframe, and in this case the data can actually be stored in the key column data structures, avoiding the need for a second tree. In practice, splitting requires a pass to copy this data to newly added keys, and the necessity to loop over all keyframes in the range being added. Both are linear and don't add excess algorithmic complexity. The new implementation also calls BLI_dlrbTree_linkedlist_sync for its own needs, so the users of the *_to_keylist functions don't have to do it themselves anymore. This commit merge the full development done in greasepencil-object branch and include mainly the following features. - New grease pencil object. - New drawing engine. - New grease pencil modes Draw/Sculpt/Edit and Weight Paint. - New brushes for grease pencil. - New modifiers for grease pencil. - New shaders FX. - New material system (replace old palettes and colors). - Split of annotations (old grease pencil) and new grease pencil object. - UI adapted to blender 2.8. You can get more info here: https://code.blender.org/2017/12/drawing-2d-animation-in-blender-2-8/ https://code.blender.org/2018/07/grease-pencil-status-update/ This is the result of nearly two years of development and I want thanks firstly the other members of the grease pencil team: Daniel M. Lara, Matias Mendiola and Joshua Leung for their support, ideas and to keep working in the project all the time, without them this project had been impossible.
