2016-01-23OpenGL: call glLineWidth less oftenMike Erwin
Each LINES draw call is now responsible for its own line width. No need to set it back to its 1.0 default after every draw. This eliminates half our calls to glLineWidth , similar to last week’s work on glPointSize.
2016-01-22OpenGL: cleanupMike Erwin
- LINE_STRIP to LINES when only drawing one - group state changes for easier reading - general cleanup

2015-05-15Zoom to frame options, requested by the Hwoozeberry (dutch translation)Antony Riakiotakis
team. There are 3 options here: 1) Keep range (previous behaviour) 2) Seconds - allows a specified offset in seconds around current frame 3) keyframes - zoom to include a number of keyframes around the cursor Options 2 and 3 have their own properties to tweak the behaviour and all options can be found in User Preferences->Interface under the 2D viewports section. Number 3 will probably need some refinement so commiting here for the hwoozeberry team to test first.
2015-04-13Fix bug with autonormalization and transform (after own range commit).Antony Riakiotakis
Transforming the center after transforming a handle would continuously flush an extra offset to the handles. Also use normalization range of -1.0 to 1.0 instead of -0.5 to 0.5 (not really important, just for better comparisons)
2015-04-13Graph editor:Antony Riakiotakis
Normalization feature now uses the full range of the data instead of just one semiaxis for the maximum size.

2015-01-20UI: cleanup UI_fontstyle_string_width, UI_draw_stringCampbell Barton
Both were maked as temp, but used often. Now pass uiFontStyle to both, rename UI_draw_string to UI_fontstyle_draw_simple, since its a variant of UI_fontstyle_draw that skips shadow, align... etc.

2014-11-11UI Refactor T41640Campbell Barton
Make the UI API more consistent and reduce confusion with some naming. mainly: - API function calls - enum values some internal static functions have been left for now
2014-04-30Code cleanup: remove unused includesCampbell Barton
Opted to keep includes if they are used indirectly (even if removing is possible).

2014-01-29UI: Refactor timecode functions into BLI_timecodeCampbell Barton
- deduplicate timecode_simple_string from image.c - replace V2D_UNIT_SECONDSSEQ with V2D_UNIT_SECONDS - avoid possible buffer overflow bugs (sprintf -> BLI_snprintf) - remove option not to use timecode and split into 2 functions Patch D227 by Andrew Buttery with own refactoring.

2013-10-29Project Pampa request: FCurves normalized displaySergey Sharybin
Added two options to a header of FCurve editor: - Normalize which makes it so every individual curve is fit into -1..1 space. - Auto-normalize, which probably is to be called "Lock" which "locks" curve normalization scale. This is useful to prevent curves from jumping around when tweaking it. It's debatable whether it need to be a button to normalize curves n purpose only, and it's fully depends on animator's workflow. Here during Project Pampa we've got Francesco who get used to auto-renormalization and Hjalti who prefers locked behavior. Docs are to be ready soon by Francesco. Thanks Brecht for the review!
2013-10-29Make anim system safer for threadingSergey Sharybin
Remove usages of ANIM_unit_mapping_apply_fcurve in favor of runtime scale factor apply. There're still calls to ANIM_nla_mapping_apply_fcurve are hanging around, they're the next t be cleaned up!

2013-05-29Make sure bool will always have the same size in C and C++Sergey Sharybin
There were an issues with data structures defined in headers and being used by both C and C++ on systems with stdbool unavailable. This happened because bool in this case will be defined as unsigned int, which is 4 bytes. But C++'s bool is only 1 byte and this lead to alignment issues. Now bool is always 1 byte, also made sure there's no situation like bool foo = BitField & BitFlag, which could give overflow issues. Use (BitField & BitFlag) != 0 instead. 2013-04-22Bugfix [#34836] Crash when driver variable has path == 'data'Joshua Leung
Most of the places which relied on RNA_path_resolve() did so believing that if it returned true, that it had found a valid property, and that the returned pointer+property combination would be what the path referred to. However, it turns out that if the property at the end of the path turns out to be a "pointer" property (e.g. "data" for Object.data), this would automatically become the pointer part, while the prop part would be set to null. Hence, if a user accidentally (or otherwise) specifies a path for the single-property driver variable type like this, then Blender would crash. This commit introduces two convenience functions - RNA_path_resolve_property() and RNA_path_resolve_property_full() - which mirror/wrap the existing RNA_path_resolve() functions. The only difference though is that these include a check to ensure that what was found from resolving the path was in fact a property (they only return true iff this is the case), and make it explicitly clear in the name that this is what they will do so that there's no further confusion. It is possible to do without these wrapper functions by doing these checks inline, but the few cases that had been patched already were pretty hideous looking specimens. Using these just make it clearer and simpler for all. I've also beefed up the docs on these a bit, and changed these to using bools.

2012-12-12Holiday coding log :)Ton Roosendaal
Nice formatted version (pictures soon): http://wiki.blender.org/index.php/Dev:Ref/Release_Notes/2.66/Usability Short list of main changes: - Transparent region option (over main region), added code to blend in/out such panels. - Min size window now 640 x 480 - Fixed DPI for ui - lots of cleanup and changes everywhere. Icon image need correct size still, layer-in-use icon needs remake. - Macbook retina support, use command line --no-native-pixels to disable it - Timeline Marker label was drawing wrong - Trackpad and magic mouse: supports zoom (hold ctrl) - Fix for splash position: removed ghost function and made window size update after creation immediate - Fast undo buffer save now adds UI as well. Could be checked for regular file save even... Quit.blend and temp file saving use this now. - Dixed filename in window on reading quit.blend or temp saves, and they now add a warning in window title: "(Recovered)" - New Userpref option "Keep Session" - this always saves quit.blend, and loads on start. This allows keeping UI and data without actual saves, until you actually save. When you load startup.blend and quit, it recognises the quit.blend as a startup (no file name in header) - Added 3D view copy/paste buffers (selected objects). Shortcuts ctrl-c, ctrl-v (OSX, cmd-c, cmd-v). Coded partial file saving for it. Could be used for other purposes. Todo: use OS clipboards. - User preferences (themes, keymaps, user settings) now can be saved as a separate file. Old option is called "Save Startup File" the new one "Save User Settings". To visualise this difference, the 'save startup file' button has been removed from user preferences window. That option is available as CTRL+U and in File menu still. - OSX: fixed bug that stopped giving mouse events outside window. This also fixes "Continuous Grab" for OSX. (error since 2009)
2012-11-09Axis Colours are now ThemeableJoshua Leung
This commit allows you to set the RGB <-> XYZ axis colours used for things like the mini axis indicator, grid axis indicators, manipulators, transform constraint indicators, F-Curves (when using XYZ to RGB colouring option), and perhaps something else I've missed. Previously, these places all used hardcoded defines (220 * i/j/k), but the readability of these colours was often quite poor, especially when used with certain themes. The settings for these colours can be found under the "User Interface" section of the themes (i.e. same set of colours is used across editors). I could have made these per editor, but since it's unlikely that these will need to be too different across editors in practice (+ being easier to version patch), they are stored under the UI section.

2012-01-11minor cleanup for string use - no functional changesCampbell Barton
- use more logical names for strings, noticed too many strings called `str` when reviewing name patch. - pass __func__ macro to uiBeginBlock(), quite a few names were wrong (copy/paste error).
2011-11-06As discussed on the mailing list, removing the non-functional,Joshua Leung
incompatible, and unmaintainable Time Offset cruft. - Slow Parenting lives another day (just), although it now carries appropriate cautionary disclaimers. It's only really for the Game Engine nowadays, as that's the only place where it can possibly work with any reliability. - "Animation Hacks" panel is now "Relations Extras". I could've merged the two panels, though I figured these options weren't that frequently used to justify taking up screen-space by default along with the panel

2011-07-21Attempted bugfix: don't perform any keyframe remapping stuff ifJoshua Leung
rendering, to prevent any race condition problems I've noticed some weird and random crashes recently while rendering, which I suspect have been arising from having an Action Editor open while rendering. Previously only the timeline was patched against these problems, though the issues may be more widespread. Hence, solving this problem at the root cause instead.
2011-07-12Timeline Drawing - Time cursor draws extra wide in timeline so thatJoshua Leung
keyframe lines are wrapped up nicely by it Ideally it could be made so that it only became wide when it is on a frame with a keyframe, though that could end up causing performance problems, so this will have to do (if a bit "chunky" looking at times).
