2022-09-14Adding `const Scene*` parameter in many areas.Monique Dewanchand
Related to {D15885} that requires scene parameter to be added in many places. To speed up the review process the adding of the scene parameter was added in a separate patch. Reviewed By: mont29 Maniphest Tasks: T73411 Differential Revision: https://developer.blender.org/D15930
2022-07-29Cleanup: Move RNA path functions into own C++ fileJulian Eisel
Adds `rna_path.cc` and `RNA_path.h`. `rna_access.c` is a quite big file, which makes it rather hard and inconvenient to navigate. RNA path functions form a nicely coherent unit that can stand well on it's own, so it makes sense to split them off to mitigate the problem. Moreover, I was looking into refactoring the quite convoluted/overloaded `rna_path_parse()`, and found that some C++ features may help greatly with that. So having that code compile in C++ would be helpful to attempt that. Differential Revision: https://developer.blender.org/D15540 Reviewed by: Brecht Van Lommel, Campbell Barton, Bastien Montagne
2022-03-14Auto-generate RNA-structs declarations in `RNA_prototypes.h`Julian Eisel
So far it was needed to declare a new RNA struct to `RNA_access.h` manually. Since 9b298cf3dbec we generate a `RNA_prototypes.h` for RNA property declarations. Now this also includes the RNA struct declarations, so they don't have to be added manually anymore. Differential Revision: https://developer.blender.org/D13862 Reviewed by: brecht, campbellbarton

2021-12-10Cleanup: move public doc-strings into headers for various API'sCampbell Barton
Some doc-strings were skipped because of blank-lines between the doc-string and the symbol and needed to be moved manually. - Added space below non doc-string comments to make it clear these aren't comments for the symbols directly below them. - Use doxy sections for some headers. Ref T92709

2021-06-18Armature: add B-Bone Y scale channel and extra flag fields to DNA.Alexander Gavrilov
In addition to the base bone transformation itself, B-Bones have controls that affect transformation of its segments. For rotation the features are quite complete, allowing to both reorient the Bezier handles via properties, and to control them using custom handle bones. However for scaling there are two deficiencies. First, there are only X and Y scale factors (actually X and Z), while lengthwise all segments have the same scaling. The ease option merely affects the shape of the curve, and does not cause actual scaling. Second, scaling can only be controlled via properties, thus requiring up to 6 drivers per joint between B-Bones to transfer scaling factors from the handle bone. This is very inefficient. Finally, the Z channels are confusingly called Y. This commit adds a B-Bone Y Scale channel and extra B-Bone flag fields to DNA with appropriate versioning (including for F-Curves and drivers) in preparation to addressing these limitations. Functionality is not changed, so the new fields are not used until the following commits. Differential Revision: https://developer.blender.org/D9870
2021-03-30Cleanup: animation, remove `BONE_UNKEYED` flagSybren A. Stüvel
Remove the `BONE_UNKEYED` flag. It was only written (set/cleared) but never actually read. Also remove `framechange_poses_clear_unkeyed()` as its only function was to clear the `BONE_UNKEYED` flag. It wasn't used anywhere either. The only code that used the flag was the `extract_pose_from_action()`, which was removed in 2869ce6cfab3aa4ff471bef6e49ac6fe15426247 (2009). No functional changes.

2019-04-23B-Bones: split the Scale In/Out properties into X and Y values.Alexander Gavrilov
As far as I can tell, there is no technical reason why the B-Bone segment thickness scaling can't be separated into two axes. The only downside is the increase in complexity of the B-Bone settings, but this is inevitable due to the increase in flexibility. Updating the file is somewhat complicated though, because F-Curves and drivers have to be duplicated and updated to the new names. BF-admins agree to remove header information that isn't useful, to reduce noise. - BEGIN/END license blocks Developers should add non license comments as separate comment blocks. No need for separator text. - Contributors This is often invalid, outdated or misleading especially when splitting files. It's more useful to git-blame to find out who has developed the code. 2018-12-07Depsgraph: Remove duplicated sets of recalc/update flagsSergey Sharybin
There were at least three copies of those: - OB_RECALC* family of flags, which are rudiment of an old dependency graph system. - PSYS_RECALC* which were used by old dependency graph system as a separate set since the graph itself did not handle particle systems. - DEG_TAG_* which was used to tag IDs. Now there is a single set, which defines what can be tagged and queried for an update. It also has some aggregate flags to make queries simpler. Lets once and for all solve the madness of those flags, stick to a single set, which will not overlap with anything or require any extra conversion. Technically, shouldn't be measurable user difference, but some of the agregate flags for few dependency graph components did change. Fixes T58632: Particle don't update rotation settings
2018-12-01Fix T58412: in weight paint + pose mode certain armature operations crash.Alexander Gavrilov
The cause is that FOREACH_OBJECT_IN_MODE_BEGIN assumed that the active object is in the correct mode, which is wrong in this case. It also only considered objects of the same type as active, which had to be replaced with an explicit type parameter.
2018-11-25Local ViewDalai Felinto
Bring back per-viewport localview. This is based on Blender 2.79. We have a limit of 16 different local view viewports. We are using both the numpad /, as well as the regular /. Missing features: * Hack to make sure lights are always visible. * Make rendered mode with external engines to support this as well (probably just need to support this in the RNA iterators). * Support over 16 viewports by taking existing viewports out of local view. The code can use a cleanup pass in the future to unify the test to see if an object is visible (or we can use TESTBASE in more places).

2018-05-19WIP COW Fix: Insert keyframe operators/api now queries depsgraph for ↵Joshua Leung
evaluated data When using copy on write, insert keyframe operators were reading from old bmain data instead of COW data. This meant that inserting keyframes would often read old/stale data, resulting in invalid keyframes getting created (e.g. from last transform operation, instead of actual current state). This commit makes it so that keyframing operators will ask depsgraph for the evaluated copy of the data, so that it can read values from that. It introduces a new function - `DEG_get_evaluated_rna_pointer()`, which when working correctly/fully, should work just like the other `DEG_get_evaluated_*()` functions, except it lets you pass in an RNA Pointer. However, currently, this is only done for Pose Bones (as a dirty hack, since this is an important/pivotal requirement for production) and/or datablock properties directly (since we can just use the DEG_get_evaluated_id() directly). on the datablock. Committing to a branch for now as this all needs more testing. More work to come later at a more sane time of day!
2018-04-16Depsgraph: remove EvaluationContext, pass Depsgraph instead.Brecht Van Lommel
The depsgraph was always created within a fixed evaluation context. Passing both risks the depsgraph and evaluation context not matching, and it complicates the Python API where we'd have to expose both which is not so easy to understand. This also removes the global evaluation context in main, which assumed there to be a single active scene and view layer. Differential Revision: https://developer.blender.org/D3152

2017-11-01Fix for T48988 - Enabling bbone easing for posemodeJoshua Leung
This fix enables the usage of bbones easing parameters for edit and pose mode seperately. This allows animators to take advantage of the functionality and may eliminate confusion as the parameters now behave similar to other bbone parameters. Note that splitting the parameters between the modes effectively creates a new parameter set. Blend files of previous versions do not contain this information and will have the values set to 0 on load. As it broke backwards compatibility for pose mode values anyway, I also took the liberty to rename the easing parameters in some places for consistency (which breaks edit mode values). 2016-05-17Bendy Bones: Advanced B-Bones for Easier + Simple RiggingJoshua Leung
This commit/patch/branch brings a bunch of powerful new options for B-Bones and for working with B-Bones, making it easier for animators to create their own rigs, using fewer bones (which also means hopefully lighter + faster rigs ;) This functionality was first demoed by Daniel at BConf15 Some highlights from this patch include: * You can now directly control the shape of B-Bones using a series of properties instead of being restricted to trying to indirectly control them through the neighbouring bones. See the "Bendy Bones" panel... * B-Bones can be shaped in EditMode to define a "curved rest pose" for the bone. This is useful for things like eyebrows and mouths/eyelids * You can now make B-Bones use custom bones as their reference bone handles, instead of only using the parent/child bones. To do so, enable the "Use Custom Reference Handles" toggle. If none are specified, then the BBone will only use the Bendy Bone properties. * Constraints Head/Tail option can now slide along the B-Bone shape, instead of just linearly interpolating between the endpoints of the bone.
