Now the operators work like other areas of Blender using the list of selected objects.
Also, the name has been changed to:
```Layers:
- Copy Layer to Selected
- Copy All Layers to Selected
Materials:
- Copy Material to Selected
- Copy All Materials to Selected```
Now it's possible to append materials of one grease pencil object into another one. The operator allows active material or all materials.
Also, the Layer Copy To Object has been renamed to Layer Append to Object to keep consistency and now allows to append all layers at once.
Now the list of masks can be ordered as is done in Layers.
This can be used to organize list and in the future refquired for new masking options.
This patch is the result of the GSoC 2020 "Editing Grease Pencil Strokes
Using Curves" project. It adds a submode to greasepencil edit mode that
allows for the transformation of greasepencil strokes using bezier
curves. More information about the project can be found
here: https://wiki.blender.org/wiki/User:Filedescriptor/GSoC_2020.
This patch adds a new operator to convert a black and white image into
grease pencil strokes.
If the image is not B/W, an internal conversion is done.
This is the first operator using Potrace, but we expect to add more features in next Blender versions.
Now the operators are split to define different default values. This is also required for the future Bezier primitive tools.
This allows to show in the Topbar the number of subdivisions. Before this value was totally hidden and it was number of Edges. The wheelmouse can be used to override the value while running, but does not change the default value.
This patch adds two options:
- Convert a mesh to grease pencil strokes.
- Bake the mesh animation into grease pencil strokes.
Both are related and must be included in the same patch.
Related to tasks: T77629 and T77630
Notice: The conversion is done for mesh edges and it's not considering any visibility clipping. All edges are exported, no matters if it's visible or not.
Keymap: E - Extrude Gizmo supported.
If the extrude points are the first or last of the stroke, the stroke is extended.
If the extrude points are in the middle of the stroke, a new stroke is created because the grease pencil strokes can be only with 2 extremes and fold the stroke to get a new point gets very bad results.
Still pending define a new icon. Also, it could be good to set by default XYZ axis in the gizmo.
Note: There is a change in the transform_gizmo_extrude_3d.c gizmo for OB_MODE_EDIT_GPENCIL. This change must be undo when the mode will be integrated into OB_MODE_EDIT, but while we have both modes, we need to keep this code in order to keep running the gizmo.
This commit groups a set of new tools that were tested in grease pencil object branch before moving to master. We decide to do all the development in a separated branch because it could break master during days or weeks before the new tools were ready to deploy.
The commit includes:
- New Cutter tool to trim strokes and help cleaning up drawings.
- New set of constraints and guides to draw different types of shapes. All the credits for this development goes to Charlie Jolly (@charlie), thanks for your help!
- Segment selection mode to select strokes between intersections.
- New operator to change strokes cap mode.
- New option to display only keyframed frames. This option is very important when fill strokes with color.
- Multiple small fixes and tweaks.
Thanks to @pepeland and @mendio for their ideas, tests, reviews and support.
Note: Still pending the final icons for Cutter in Toolbar and Segment Selection in Topbar. @billreynish could help us here?
This should be purely an implementation change,
for end users there should be no functional difference.
The entire key configuration is in one file with ~5000 lines of code.
Mostly avoiding code duplication and preserve comments and utility
functions from the C code.
It's a bit long but for searching and editing it's also convenient to
have it all in one file.
Notes:
- Actual keymap is shared by blender / blender_legacy
and stored in `keymap_data/blender_default.py`
This only generates JSON-like data to be passed into
`keyconfig_import_from_data`, allowing other presets to load and
manipulate the default keymap.
- Each preset defines 'keyconfig_data'
which can be shared between presets.
- Some of the utility functions for generating keymap items still
need to be ported over to Python.
- Some keymap items can be made into loops (marked as TODO).
