flagged as PROP_THICK_WRAP.
Also use const char in many other parts of blenders code.
Currently this gives warnings for setting operator id, label and description since these are an exception and allocated beforehand.

Added extend option to lasso.
also...
- selecting bones wasn't checking their layer of if they were hidden in a number of places.
- fixed memory leak.
small unrealed changes
- added PBONE_VISIBLE macro
- renamed functions used for paint selectoin from *_tface to paintface_*. sine they no longer have anything todo with tface's.
- removed scanfill include from BLI_blenlib.h, this is only used in very few places and quite specific.
Noticed lasso select is broken for metaballs and face mask mode but this has been the case for a while, will look into it next.

there were 3 operators for armature subdivision, now only have 1 (as with mesh).
+ remove unused warnigns.
|
|
The error for heat weighting was only being printed in the console, while the problem remains at least a warning is now given that there was a problem calculating the heat weight.
also fixed a memory leak from the mesh octree not being freed after assigning vertex groups. (ModNode error)

painting mode
pose operators now run in weightpaint mode when the weight paint objects pose armature is in pose mode.

was missing a call to glLoadName(-1); so drawing commands after the bone were taken into account with the selection.
made some other minor changes that dont change functionality.

[#23108] bpy.ops.object.origin_set(type='GEOMETRY_ORIGIN') dosen't work in console
[#23115] Crash when moving armature origin
- setting the armature in editmode would leave editdata in some cases.
- transforming selected linked objects to account for the movement of the obdata was only done for meshes, now do for curves and text3d.
- added utility functions for getting curve & mesh bounds.
- text3d moving center wasn't working at all.
- changed drawobject.c to use BLI_math funcs in more places.
- remove some unused code from operator object.origin_set.

* Removed some un-needed armature code stubs
* Manually copying over the values of constraints in the constraint copy() callbacks should NOT be needed. Removed this from the Spline IK constraint. The manual process is only a hacky aspect of the modifier stack only!

* Now support a Surface mode next to the existing Volume mode. This binds
the mesh to the cage mesh surface rather than it's volume.
* Implemented reusing the bone heat weighting code.
* Advantage is that it works for cage meshes that are not volumes and that
binding is much faster.
* Weak point is that disconnected components of a mesh are not guaranteed
to stick together (same problem exists with bone heat weighting).
* Bind weights could still be compressed better to use less memory.
Example file:
http://download.blender.org/ftp/incoming/cloth_mdef_surface.blend

|
* Increased the number of Armature and Bone Layers from 16 to 32. Please note that older versions of Blender may not correctly resolve the layers that bones are on when loading new files.
* Newly added objects are now made by default to allow locking of 4-component rotations using 4 separate locks (i.e. one by component) instead of requiring the obscure 'W' toggle (renamed '4L' now) to be enabled first. The objects in the default scene need modifying manually though.

needs looking up.
- rna vars arm.bones.active & rna.edit_bones.active
- needed special undo support.
- readfile.c loads.
- duplicate and copy_armature support.
- keep the draw flag, renamed to BONE_DRAW_ACTIVE, only use for openGL drawing.
Note: it may be better to allow active/unselected as with objects.

* Extrude and Duplicate for Armatures now use proper macros instead of manually calling transform themselves. This means that repeating these operators now works properly.
** NOTE: there's a bug with macros now which prevents the 'forked' extrude operator working correctly. Bug report filed for this.
* Included the proper operators for extrude and duplicate in the toolbar + menus. The operators used there did not activate transform, which meant that users often could not tell that the operation had occurred at all.

Keymaps are now saveable and configurable from the user preferences, note
that editing one item in a keymap means the whole keymap is now defined by
the user and will not be updated by Blender, an option for syncing might be
added later. The outliner interface is still there, but I will probably
remove it.
There's actually 3 levels now:
* Default builtin key configuration.
* Key configuration loaded from .py file, for configs like Blender 2.4x
or other 3D applications.
* Keymaps edited by the user and saved in .B.blend. These can be saved
to .py files as well to make creating distributable configurations
easier.
Also, user preferences sections were reorganized a bit, now there is:
Interface, Editing, Input, Files and System.
Implementation notes:
* wmKeyConfig was added which represents a key configuration containing
keymaps.
* wmKeymapItem was renamed to wmKeyMapItem for consistency with wmKeyMap.
* Modal maps are not wrapped yet.
* User preferences DNA file reading did not support newdataadr() yet,
added this now for reading keymaps.
* Key configuration related settings are now RNA wrapped.
* is_property_set and is_property_hidden python methods were added.
|
|
* Split object_edit.c into multiple files:
object_add.c, object_edit.c, object_hook.c, object_relations.c,
object_select.c, object_transform.c.
* Rename files to have consistent object_ and mball_ prefix:
object_shapekey.c, object_lattice.c, object_vgroup.c, mball_edit.c.
* Added operators:
* vertex group menu and set active
* apply location, rotation, scale, visual transform (location is new)
* make local
* make vertex parent
* move to layer
* convert to curve/mesh (not finished yet)
* Many small fixes for marked issues, but still much code to be cleaned
up here...

Other code will eventually move out of armature editor (to help reuse).
This solves the issue reported by Cambo on the ml about kernel code calling editor functions.

Outliner: brought back to near full functioning:
- proper operators, like for open/close items, exec operations
(note: select is still same operator as activate, should
become modal ops later)
- rename works again (ctrl+click)
- proper notifiers for redraws
- select / extend select works again
- editmode in/out works again
- enter key opens/closes again
- right mouse operations work again
Didn't do:
- options for Sequence strips
- signals to change button views on clicks
- error/warning messages
UI:
- added new uiButSetRenameFunc(), which passes on the old name
- added uiButActiveOnly(), which ensures a button gets created in
active state, and gets removed when used. Needed for editing
names in outliner.
Andrea: check outliner.c for uiButActiveOnly(), very easy to use!
Also:
- Added posemode operator, CTRL+TAB tied to it.

* Fix crash loading particle AnimData. This crashed many BBB
files. If you have a .blend file that crashes when loading
it in 2.5, please mail me, I'd like to know.
* Image window zoom ratio did not work correct with py 2.x.
* Other minor fixes for image window RNA.
* Buttons window now remembers the tab that was last clicked
by the user, even if that tab is no longer available due
to context, and then enable the tab again if the context
for it is back.
* Cleaned up buttons space DNA a bit, removing unused vars.
* Armature bone rename outside edit mode did not call right
function yet.
* Armature layers are now editable even if lib linked. This
is useful for proxies. For this purpose a PROP_LIB_EXCEPTION
flag was added. Need to think over proxy / RNA a bit though,
not sure what the requirements are yet.
* Parent to Armature Deform now has options to create vertex
groups, instead of always creating them.

and Edit Mode (Armatures).
Only the PoseMode menus work for now (since these use operators)
|
|
Like edit data, this isn't saved, just a temp pointer used during work session.
Also bring back sketching panel for 3d view.
|
|
* Bone Transform panel now works, using appropriate EditBone or
PoseChannel properties.
* Bone name and parent are now editable.
* Some other tweaks to the UI layouts for Armature and Bone.
* Notifiers for armature/editbone properties.
|
|
* Objects now support up to 32767 material slots. It's easy to
increase this further, but I prefer not to increase the memory
usage of mesh faces, it seems unlikely that someone would
create 32767 distinct materials?
* Forward compatibility: the only thing you can potentially lose
reading a 2.5 file in 2.4 is object linking (instead of default
data), though usually that will go fine too. Reading files with
> 32 material slots in 2.4 can start giving issues.
* The ob->colbits variable is deprecated by the array ob->matbits
but I didn't remove the ob->colbits updates in very few places
it is set.
* I hope I changed all the relevant things, various places just
hardcoded the number 16 instead of using the MAXMAT define.
* Join Objects operator back. This is using the version from the
animsys2 branch coded by Joshua, which means it now supports
joining of shape keys.
* Fix for crash reading file saved during render.

|
Monthly cleaning round to make it compile warning free.
Mostly it was const stuff (strings, Context), but also
a couple useful fixes, like wrong use of temp pointers.
Only Mathutils callback struct I left alone... design issue.
|
|
* Context panel now draws without header, with arrows, no scene name.
* Softbody vertex group search popup.
* Improve names for autogenerated shortcut keys in menus.
* Make most Select menus in the 3D view header work.
* Fix armature border select selection syncing.
* Add POSE_OT_select_constraint_target,
MESH_OT_select_by_number_vertices, MESH_OT_select_vertex_path.
* Merge mesh select similar into one operator.
* Don't give MESH_OT_select_random Space hotkey.
* Add DAG_object_flush_update to many mesh edit tools, not calling this
will crash with modifiers.
* RNA_def_enum_funcs for dynamic enums in operators, but not very useful
without context yet.
* Fix refresh issue with image window header + editmode.
* Fix drawing of shadow mesh for image painting.
* Remove deprecated uiDefMenuButO and uiDefMenuSep functions.
* Remove keyval.c, code is in wm_keymap.c already.
* Rename WM_operator_redo to WM_operator_props_popup.
|
|
Polyline, selection and a couple of others work. (note that polyline is shift-click because click is taken by 3d cursor. Needs a way to overwrite lower maps).
|
|
it working this week end.

Notes:
* Sequence transform strip uses G.scene global, this is commented
out now, should be fixed.
* Etch-a-ton code was most difficult to merge. The files already in
2.5 got merged, but no new files were added. Calls to these files
are commented out with "XXX etch-a-ton". editarmature.c and
transform_snap.c were complex to merge. Martin, please check?
* Game engine compiles and links again here for scons/make/cmake
(player still fails to link).

SHIFT+A add armature didn't add a bone yet. :)

*** Proof of concept! ****
3D window Panels back, in own designated region for now.
Activate or hide it with Nkey.
Note that Background Image doesn't work yet, Transform
Orientations probably need tests by Martin, Sculpt options
have to be recoded there by Nicholas.
The UI design sessions will of course review all of this!
We'll have to solve a lot of related topics;
- navigation (where) and context (what)
- non-overlapping layouts vs floating panels/bars
- properties vs tools (toolbars)
- drop panels and make nice (semi-automated) list views?
I've also done experiments with making the main 3d view
stay 'behind' the buttons region. That makes popping buttons
in and out less distracting, but also makes it obscuring
the view... it's not in this commit, it didn't work proper :)
To get that work it has to be handled by the internal
compositor, then it even can have fancy transparency in back.
Anyhoo, time enough to play with this a while. Especially for
Image window (paint) it can work well too.

|
* Brought back recalculate bone roll (Ctrl N). This should be quite a straightforward example of a cleaned-up + ported armature tool.
* Cleaned up a few warnings
|
|
Committed two posemode operators. Hide/Unhide.
For people who want to check on adding operators, only
check the changes in armature directory, rest is to
get things to work, and a small bugfix :)
|
|
Preparing for volunteer to work on operatorifying armature code.
Just new C file and calls to assign operators and keymaps.
|
|
- Brought back code for particle edit and fluidsim
- Sanitized code from globals and bad level calls,
so its ready to come back working.
- Fixed cirle selecting (Ckey now)
- Enabled undo for editmode curve, armature, particle
and lattice

Organized as follows:
uvedit/
uv editing related code
uvedit_draw.c: drawing code
uvedit_ops.c: operators, just a few done
uvedit_unwrap_ops.c: will be operators for unwrapping
uvedit_paramatrizer.c: lscm/abf/stretch/pack
space_image/
space_image.c: registration and common getter/setters
image_draw.c: drawing code, mostly functional
image_panels.c: panels, all commented out
image_render.c: render callbacks, non functional
image_ops.c: operators, only view navigation done
image_header.c: header, menus mostly done but missing buttons
Notes:
* Header menus consist only of Operator and RNA buttons, if they
are not implemented they're displayed grayed out. Ideally the full
header could work like this, but std_libbuttons looks problematic.
* Started using view2d code more than the old code, but for now it
still does own view2d management due to some very specific
requirements that the image window has. The drawing code however
is more clear hopefully, it only uses view2d, and there is no
switching between 'p' and 'f' view2d's anymore, it is always 'f'.
* In order to make uvedit operators more independent I move some
image space settings to scene toolsettings, and the current image
and its buffer is in the context. Especially sync selection and
select mode belonged there anyway as this cannot work correct with
different spaces having different settings anyway.
* Image paint is not back yet, did not want to put that together with
uvedit because there's really no code sharing.. perhaps vertex paint,
image paint and sculpt would be good to have in one module to share
brush code, partial redraw, etc better.

GPencil code back!
Joshua will probably take this further. I've added XXX notes
where fixes are required. Also note that ED_gpencil.h has
all old exports, which is probably not needed, most can go
to gpencil_intern.h
Also added Makefile fixes for sculpt
|
|
Instead of many commits, here 1!
- Constraint edit code back
- Removed XXX stubs for constraints
(make parent follow path works)
- Removed XXX stubs for armature
(make parent deform, do center, etc works)
- Found a bad uninitialized global Scene * in code, especially
in kernel it wreaked havoc.
- added missing include in blenkernel/brush.c
- fixed Nicholas' fix for editmode subsurf crash
(It needed to check for editmode)
|
|
- Weightpaint back (CTRL+TAB or menu)
Also weightpaint is sortof non-modal, allowing to use all existing
hotkeys while in paint mode. Only leftmouse is overridden.
- Made vpaint and wpaint entirely local, stored in scene (and saved!)
- Small bugfix (also in 2.48): on weightpaint mode, all armature objects
in 3d window were drawing as active poses. Now only the armature
deformer is.
Nice point for the UI agenda: are paint modes on ACTION mouse? Only then
you can combine it with SELECT mouse...
