This modifier still has issues that are not related to this port:
- While editing the deformation mesh, the deformed mesh doesn't update.
This update only happens after exiting edit mode, making editing
cumbersome.
- Binding doesn't work yet. It works fine when binding in master and
loading pre-bound in 2.8. This was also an issue before this port, and
will be investigated separately.

While the feature is interesting, it's not much from what we can tell.
Retargeting is an important feature but needs
to fit in better with typical animation work-flows.

The depsgraph was always created within a fixed evaluation context. Passing
both risks the depsgraph and evaluation context not matching, and it
complicates the Python API where we'd have to expose both which is not so
easy to understand.
This also removes the global evaluation context in main, which assumed there
to be a single active scene and view layer.

This adds initial multi-object editing support.
- Selected objects are used when entering edit & pose modes.
- Selection & tools work on all objects however many tools need porting
See: T54641 for remaining tasks.
Indentation will be done separately.
See patch: D3101

- Wasn't clear which functions handle edit-bones.
- Mixed both ebone and edit_bone in names.
- Didn't use ED_armature_* prefix for public API.
See P655 to apply to branches.

Prepare for multi-object pose mode
|

This caused too many problems syncing object modes
with multiple objects/windows/workspaces, see: D3130 for details.
|
|
- Undo that changes modes currently asserts,
since undo is now screen data.
Most likely we will change how object mode and workspaces work
since it's not practical/maintainable at the moment.
- Removed view_layer from particle settings
(wasn't needed and complicated undo).
|
|
- Use a single undo history for all operations.
- UndoType's are registered and poll the context to check if they
should be used when performing an undo push.
- Mode switching is used to ensure the state is correct before
undo data is restored.
- Some undo types accumulate changes (image & text editing)
others store the state multiple times (with de-duplication).
This is supported by checking UndoStack.mode `ACCUMULATE` / `STORE`.
- Each undo step stores ID datablocks they use with utilities to help
manage restoring correct ID's.
Needed since global undo is now mixed with other modes undo.
- Currently performs each undo step when going up/down history
Previously this wasn't done, making history fail in some cases.
This can be optimized to skip some combinations of undo steps.
grease-pencil is an exception which has not been updated
since it integrates undo into the draw-session.

Disconnected bones weren't handled correctly.

While doing so with Bone_R.001, Bone_R.003, Bone_R.003 etc. is doomed to
issues, doing that on duplicates of actually correctly named bones can
be handy, and safe.
So adding back as an option (was removed in rB702bc5ba26d5).

The RenderResult struct still has a listbase of RenderLayer, but that's ok
since this is strictly for rendering.
* Subversion bump (to 2.80.2)
* DNA low level doversion (renames) - only for .blend created since 2.80 started
Note: We can't use DNA_struct_elem_find or get file version in init_structDNA,
so we are manually iterating over the array of the SDNA elements instead.
Note 2: This doversion change with renames can be reverted in a few months. But
so far it's required for 2.8 files created between October 2016 and now.

Finally, bases are all using the latest, newest SceneLayer bases.

This fix enables the usage of bbones easing parameters for edit and pose mode seperately. This allows animators to take advantage of the functionality and may eliminate confusion as the parameters now behave similar to other bbone parameters.
Note that splitting the parameters between the modes effectively creates a new parameter set. Blend files of previous versions do not contain this information and will have the values set to 0 on load. As it broke backwards compatibility for pose mode values anyway, I also took the liberty to rename the easing parameters in some places for consistency (which breaks edit mode values).

In some cases users may want to disable this option
to avoid changing other properties besides vertex locations.

Note that some little parts of code have been dissabled because eval_ctx
was not available there. This should be resolved once DerivedMesh is
replaced.

User Commit Log
---------------
* New Layer and Collection system to replace render layers and viewport layers.
* A layer is a set of collections of objects (and their drawing options) required for specific tasks.
* A collection is a set of objects, equivalent of the old layers in Blender. A collection can be shared across multiple layers.
* All Scenes have a master collection that all other collections are children of.
* New collection "context" tab (in Properties Editor)
* New temporary viewport "collections" panel to control per-collection
visibility
Missing User Features
---------------------
* Collection "Filter"
Option to add objects based on their names
* Collection Manager operators
The existing buttons are placeholders
* Collection Manager drawing
The editor main region is empty
* Collection Override
* Per-Collection engine settings
This will come as a separate commit, as part of the clay-engine branch
Dev Commit Log
--------------
* New DNA file (DNA_layer_types.h) with the new structs
We are replacing Base by a new extended Base while keeping it backward
compatible with some legacy settings (i.e., lay, flag_legacy).
Renamed all Base to BaseLegacy to make it clear the areas of code that
still need to be converted
Note: manual changes were required on - deg_builder_nodes.h, rna_object.c, KX_Light.cpp
* Unittesting for main syncronization requirements
- read, write, add/copy/remove objects, copy scene, collection
link/unlinking, context)
* New Editor: Collection Manager
Based on patch by Julian Eisel
This is extracted from the layer-manager branch. With the following changes:
- Renamed references of layer manager to collections manager
- I doesn't include the editors/space_collections/ draw and util files
- The drawing code itself will be implemented separately by Julian
* Base / Object:
A little note about them. Original Blender code would try to keep them
in sync through the code, juggling flags back and forth. This will now
be handled by Depsgraph, keeping Object and Bases more separated
throughout the non-rendering code.
Scene.base is being cleared in doversion, and the old viewport drawing
code was poorly converted to use the new bases while the new viewport
code doesn't get merged and replace the old one.

Just store bones that could not get renamed to desired flipped name on the
first try into a temp list, and try to rename them a second time.
This is rather simple solution, will induce 'over numbering' in case you
flip a bone to another unselected bone's name (since number will be
incremented in both rename attempts), but think this is acceptable minor
glitch, for a corner case situation that does not have any good
resolution anyway.
Also, set `strip_numbers` option of `BKE_deform_flip_side_name` to
false, otherwise chains of bones with same names would get their numbers
completely messed up after name flipping.
Based on work by @dfelinto in D2456 (https://developer.blender.org/D2456), thanks.

This commit/patch/branch brings a bunch of powerful new options for B-Bones and
for working with B-Bones, making it easier for animators to create their own
rigs, using fewer bones (which also means hopefully lighter + faster rigs ;)
This functionality was first demoed by Daniel at BConf15
Some highlights from this patch include:
* You can now directly control the shape of B-Bones using a series of properties
instead of being restricted to trying to indirectly control them through the
neighbouring bones. See the "Bendy Bones" panel...
* B-Bones can be shaped in EditMode to define a "curved rest pose" for the bone.
This is useful for things like eyebrows and mouths/eyelids
* You can now make B-Bones use custom bones as their reference bone handles,
instead of only using the parent/child bones. To do so, enable the
"Use Custom Reference Handles" toggle. If none are specified, then the BBone will
only use the Bendy Bone properties.
* Constraints Head/Tail option can now slide along the B-Bone shape, instead of
just linearly interpolating between the endpoints of the bone.

Binding code was re-building its own DM for the cage, now it uses given one instead.
I cannot see really any good reason not to use 'visual' modified cage for binding process,
using base mesh instead was breaking any 'advanced' binding as described in the report.
