PyNodes opens up the node system in Blender to scripters and adds a number of UI-level improvements.
=== Dynamic node type registration ===
Node types can now be added at runtime, using the RNA registration mechanism from python. This enables addons such as render engines to create a complete user interface with nodes.
Examples of how such nodes can be defined can be found in my personal wiki docs atm [1] and as a script template in release/scripts/templates_py/custom_nodes.py [2].
=== Node group improvements ===
Each node editor now has a tree history of edited node groups, which allows opening and editing nested node groups. The node editor also supports pinning now, so that different spaces can be used to edit different node groups simultaneously. For more ramblings and rationale see (really old) blog post on code.blender.org [3].
The interface of node groups has been overhauled. Sockets of a node group are no longer displayed in columns on either side, but instead special input/output nodes are used to mirror group sockets inside a node tree. This solves the problem of long node lines in groups and allows more adaptable node layout. Internal sockets can be exposed from a group by either connecting to the extension sockets in input/output nodes (shown as empty circle) or by adding sockets from the node property bar in the "Interface" panel. Further details such as the socket name can also be changed there.

white background color
|
|
from Gavin Howard (gdh)
|
|
This was difficult to do because we group theme colours and display them
together in user preferences. To make the background options more
presentable and keep them grouped and separate, I needed to group the
two gradient colours somehow. I added a separate ThemeSpaceGradient RNA
struct as opposed to ThemeSpaceGeneric. This struct is the same as
ThemeSpaceGeneric but it lacks the window background option (which does
nothing now) and includes the UiGradient struct which now has both
gradient colours. I modified the clear functions to use a new high
colour from the gradient. Now all options appear grouped and any other
editor that may use a gradient for the window background may do so.
Also corrected incorrect MAIN_VERSION_ATLEAST macro, it would not detect
versions correctly

preferences under themes->3D view->Theme Gradient Color. This is only used when use render only is not ticked and for now it may interfere with grid lines. Will investigate how to adjust contrast.

from Patrick Boelens (senshi). with modifications to split it into its own function.
also added C style multi-line comment support /* ... */
I've left out the part of this patch that sets the language in the space, since I think this might be better stored in the text block.
For now it simply uses OSL syntax highlighting when the extension is '.osl'.

- Recoded soft shadow drawing for menus, giving better predictable results
(and round off nicer on top side, was looking bad still)
- Brought it under DPI control
- Added Theme setting to control size and strength for it.

Removed unused panel colors (and panel text) from Themes.

|
Notes and image:
http://wiki.blender.org/index.php/Dev:Ref/Release_Notes/2.66/Usability
- now each editor has own settings for "show panel header" and
"show panel background", and colors+alpha for this.
- this setting used to be global for all editors, but it can conflict
with looks of specific editors.
- Now you can set for editors to show panels with a 100% transparent
tool/properties region.
Note: read XML theme files now might get an error, Campbell will fix.

This commit allows you to set the RGB <-> XYZ axis colours used for things like
the mini axis indicator, grid axis indicators, manipulators, transform
constraint indicators, F-Curves (when using XYZ to RGB colouring option), and
perhaps something else I've missed. Previously, these places all used hardcoded
defines (220 * i/j/k), but the readability of these colours was often quite
poor, especially when used with certain themes.
The settings for these colours can be found under the "User Interface" section
of the themes (i.e. same set of colours is used across editors). I could have
made these per editor, but since it's unlikely that these will need to be too
different across editors in practice (+ being easier to version patch), they are
stored under the UI section.

bones
Made active bone color a bit brighter and made it a userpref option.
|
|
|
|
* NLA Strip colors are now themable
* Changed the "Active Action"/"Summary" colors to be a bit more muted. The new
colors are now closer to those for keyframes, though they are still different
enough to be clearly distinguishable.
* Removed some colors wihch don't seem to be used (from NLA theme colors)
* Added function to get theme colors + alpha as floats
|
|
used when drawing frames with a custom color (which is just RGB).
|
|
* Remove all code for Texture and Sequencer plugin system, this never worked in 2.5x / 2.6x and is therefore not needed anymore.
* DNA structures are kept, all read/writefile code is gone.
|
|
Bumped file version from 263.5 to 263.6 to ensure the default
TH_SKIN_ROOT color gets set.

* Preview Background is now themeable. Patch by Pablo Vazquez (venomgfx).

* Camera and Empty colour is now themeable. Patch by Pablo Vazquez (venomgfx) with some minor edits.

This adds movieclip input support to the sequencer, thereby making
undistorted and stabilized footage available without a seperate render step.
Also: removes some old cruft code from the sequencer:
* new_tstripdata wasn't used anymore
* StripElems were allocated for SCENE strips on full length, wasting memory
Added a comment, that hopefully makes things a little bit clearer:
StripElems are *only* usefull for MOVIE + IMAGE strips for all other strip
types one can set this pointer to NULL. (If that should cause otherwise
problems, then the code that doesn't check for NULL is to blame!)

without the underscores these clogged up the namespace for autocompleation which was annoying.

From patch description:
As a follow on from #23443 - committed in r40066 I have added the outliner
filter match highlight colour to the theme settings.
Default colour is a light green matching what was originally hard coded.

=========================
Documentation: http://wiki.blender.org/index.php/User:Psy-Fi/UV_Tools
Major features include:
*16 bit image support in viewport
*Subsurf aware unwrapping
*Smart Stitch(snap/rotate islands, preview, middlepoint/endpoint stitching)
*Seams from islands tool (marks seams and sharp, depending on settings)
*Uv Sculpting(Grab/Pinch/Rotate)
All tools are complete apart from stitching that is considered stable but with an extra edge mode under development(will be in soc-2011-onion-uv-tools).

"The Blender Foundation also sells licenses for use in proprietary software under the Blender Licens"
also remove NaN references from files that have been added since blender went opensource.
|
|
* Add theme option to show panel header background.
* Draw panel collapse widget a bit smaller.
* Add theme option to draw icons muted.
* Code tweak: replace U.themes.first by UI_GetTheme() calls.

===========================
Commiting camera tracking integration gsoc project into trunk.
This commit includes:
- Bundled version of libmv library (with some changes against official repo,
re-sync with libmv repo a bit later)
- New datatype ID called MovieClip which is optimized to work with movie
clips (both of movie files and image sequences) and doing camera/motion
tracking operations.
- New editor called Clip Editor which is currently used for motion/tracking
stuff only, but which can be easily extended to work with masks too.
This editor supports:
* Loading movie files/image sequences
* Build proxies with different size for loaded movie clip, also supports
building undistorted proxies to increase speed of playback in
undistorted mode.
* Manual lens distortion mode calibration using grid and grease pencil
* Supervised 2D tracking using two different algorithms KLT and SAD.
* Basic algorithm for feature detection
* Camera motion solving. scene orientation
- New constraints to "link" scene objects with solved motions from clip:
* Follow Track (make object follow 2D motion of track with given name
or parent object to reconstructed 3D position of track)
* Camera Solver to make camera moving in the same way as reconstructed camera
This commit NOT includes changes from tomato branch:
- New nodes (they'll be commited as separated patch)
- Automatic image offset guessing for image input node and image editor
(need to do more tests and gather more feedback)
- Code cleanup in libmv-capi. It's not so critical cleanup, just increasing
readability and understanadability of code. Better to make this chaneg when
Keir will finish his current patch.
More details about this project can be found on this page:
http://wiki.blender.org/index.php/User:Nazg-gul/GSoC-2011
Further development of small features would be done in trunk, bigger/experimental
features would first be implemented in tomato branch.

- make ortho grid drawing use vertex arrays
- make perspective view floor drawing cache result of UI_ThemeColorShade so its not called on every line.
- make perspective view floor only loop once on each axis when the grid floor isnt being drawn (was looking over all grid lines for no reason).
- add UI_GetColorPtrShade3ubv() to replace UI_GetColorPtrBlendShade3ubv() when no blending is needed.

handle/key
This used to be a weird per-curve setting which would happen to get
applied/work correctly if handles were set to "auto", and was a source
of constant confusion for both old and new animators. The main effect
of this handle-type/option was really to just ensure that auto-handles
stayed horizontal, instead of tilting as the keys were moved.
This commit simply changes this from a per-curve to per
keyframe/handle setting.

Some people like curved lines, other hate them. This commit will let the user change the level of curving.
In UserPreferences=>Themes=>Node editor=>Noodle curving the level can be modified. Allowed range is 0-10 with the default on 5
The patch will default everything to the way blender works ATM.
File subversion has been increased otherwise older 258 files got straight lines.
The data is stored in the ThemeSpace.noodle_curving
the bezierdrawing is done in the drawnode. Also tested the Line cut tool

Adds new speaker object type.
Notes:
* Needs some nice icons
* Quickily review by Joshua Leung (5 mins)
* Properties UI updated (with help of Thomans Dinges)
* Speakers have their own theme color
* No real audio functionality yet.
* Minor bug regarding lamps/lattices fixed in interface_templates.c
I personality tested:
* Creation, Deletion, Duplication
* Saving, Loading
* Library linking (incl. make local)
* Tracking
* Dope Sheet, Outliner
* Animation
* Drawing (incl. Theme)
|
|
|
|
* Moved two #defines out of the enum to make code more readable.
|
|
* Moved ICON_BLENDER away from (0,0) spot in blenderbuttons, since ICON_BLENDER=0 define is conflicting ICON_NULL define as well as with logic checks for nonzero icon id.
* This solved bug where ICON_BLENDER can't be set from Python as well as when using new UI functions from within Blender.

- made theme colors for mesh edge len & face angle/area display.
- use %g rather then %f for float display, trims unneeded zeros.
- store cached 2d and 3d text color as bytes rather then floats, compare when drawing to avoid setting the context.
- use unsigned char for more color functions, avoids casting to glColorubv().

initializers is a c99 feature.

Curve->lastselbp field was renamed to Curve->lastsel and now not last
either BPoint or BezTriple is storing here. It's not easy to determine
type of selected point, but operator which depends on such point reviews
the full nurbs, so this shouldn't be a problem.
Made changes to curve undo stuff to restore last selected point on undo/redo.
Added new theme color for curve last selected point.
|
|
Modify the glClearColor used to draw disabled buttons, when creating a ROUNDBOX
ui element. Made a convenience function and rippled it though, too.
|
|
Gave edge crease a unique theme colour.
|
|
|
|
- Replaced hardcoded nurbcol array with theme colors
- Send notification in duplicate curve operator (this operator could
reset/change active nurb)
- Edge seam color added to the user preferences dialog
