2021-05-31Fix T88666: Cryptomatte: EXR sequence does not update when scrubbing the ↵Jeroen Bakker
timeline. Cause is that initializing the cryptomatte session would reset the current frame of an image sequence. The solution is to always use the scene current frame so it resets to the correct frame. This was a todo that wasn't solved after it landed in master. Needs to be backported to 2.93.
2021-03-31Fix: Cryptomatte Picker on Legacy Node Failing.Jeroen Bakker
The new Cryptomatte workflow assumes that the picker is used in the new workflow. The legacy node wasn't working as it would never find a correct cryptomatte layer. This fix will use the color sampling like we used to do.
2021-03-17Cryptomatte: Show Name of Object/Material Under The Cursor.Jeroen Bakker
This change shows the object or material name with the cursor when picking for a cryptomatte node. Reviewed By: Julian Eisel Differential Revision: https://developer.blender.org/D10705
2021-03-16Compositor: Redesign Cryptomatte node for better usabilityJeroen Bakker
In the current implementation, cryptomatte passes are connected to the node and elements are picked by using the eyedropper tool on a special pick channel. This design has two disadvantages - both connecting all passes individually and always having to switch to the picker channel are tedious. With the new design, the user selects the RenderLayer or Image from which the Cryptomatte layers are directly loaded (the type of pass is determined by an enum). This allows the node to automatically detect all relevant passes. Then, when using the eyedropper tool, the operator looks up the selected coordinates from the picked Image, Node backdrop or Clip and reads the picked object directly from the Renderlayer/Image, therefore allowing to pick in any context (e.g. by clicking on the Combined pass in the Image Viewer). The sampled color is looked up in the metadata and the actual name is stored in the cryptomatte node. This also allows to remove a hash by just removing the name from the matte id. Technically there is some loss of flexibility because the Cryptomatte pass inputs can no longer be connected to other nodes, but since any compositing done on them is likely to break the Cryptomatte system anyways, this isn't really a concern in practise. In the future, this would also allow to automatically translate values to names by looking up the value in the associated metadata of the input, or to get a better visualization of overlapping areas in the Pick output since we could blend colors now that the output doesn't have to contain the exact value. 2020-11-12Fix T82093: Sampled Colors Mismatch When Painting (Partial)Jeroen Bakker
When painting in the image editor on data images (Non-color, Raw) the color mismatched between the sampled color and the actual effect that the painting has on the image. The root cause is that the sampling is color managed, but the painting still uses a fixed color management pipeline with a lot of assumptions. Due to recent changes the drawing of the image editor is color managed, but the painting isn't what made these changes show up. This patch is a work-a-round so that the sampled colors and the effect the paint has on the texture matches. This isn't the correct solution as that would be to migrate all the painting tools to use proper color management. 2020-07-03Cleanup: Interface, Clang-Tidy else-after-return fixesSybren A. Stüvel
This addresses warnings from Clang-Tidy's `readability-else-after-return` rule in the `source/blender/editors/interface` module. No functional changes.

2020-05-20Fix T76794: Number button cursor overrides eyedropper cursorCampbell Barton
Pressing 'E' over a number button to pick a distance was keeping left-right arrows instead of using the eye-dropper cursor. Workaround this by clearing the active button before setting the cursor.

2020-04-03Cleanup: Rename ScrArea variables from sa to areaJulian Eisel
Follow up of b2ee1770d4c3 and 10c2254d412d, part of T74432. Now the area and region naming conventions should be less confusing. Mostly a careful batch rename but had to do few smaller fixes. Also ran clang-format on affected files.
2020-03-19Cleanup: `make format` after SortedIncludes changeDalai Felinto
2020-03-06Cleanup: Rename ARegion variables from ar to regionJulian Eisel
The old convention was easy to confuse with ScrArea. Part of https://developer.blender.org/T74432. This is mostly a batch rename with some manual fixing. Only single word variable names are changed, no prefixed/suffixed names. Brecht van Lommel and Campbell Barton both gave me a green light for this convention change. Also ran clan clang format on affected files.
2019-11-27Cleanup: Remove BIF_gl.hJeroen Bakker

2019-02-01Cleanup: remove redundant, invalid info from headersCampbell Barton
BF-admins agree to remove header information that isn't useful, to reduce noise. - BEGIN/END license blocks Developers should add non license comments as separate comment blocks. No need for separator text. - Contributors This is often invalid, outdated or misleading especially when splitting files. It's more useful to git-blame to find out who has developed the code. See P901 for script to perform these edits.
