2010-04-02Bugfix #21853: Border zoom in the 2D-Views zooms outJoshua Leung
* Fixed the way the operator was checking for what the user wanted when using the operator * Added a few specific defines to a copy of the gesture border modal keymap (added one for zooming only) labelled 'In' and 'Out' which make this more useful than being hacked to use select and deselect
2010-03-30Performance tweak - on region pan/scale, only redraw the region itself Matt Ebb
instead of the entire area (eg. so panning tool shelf doesn't lag when 3d view redrawing is slow).
2010-03-23more lint includesCampbell Barton
Only source/blender/editors/ dir, should not give errors on different platforms Only removing: UI_*.h, ED_*.h, WM_*.h, DNA_*.h, IMB_*.h, RNA_*.h, PIL_*.h

2010-02-12Bugfixes:Joshua Leung
1) Summary channel in DopeSheet was using uninitialised color for backdrop, resulting in weird/wrong colours 2) Commented out the view2d hotkeys added earlier, since they currently cause some conflicts for animation editor hotkeys (namely NLA)

2010-01-31Various tweaks to View2D code for handling of scrollbar interactions in ↵Joshua Leung
relation to bug 19881: * Clearly labelled the way that the scrollbar hiding works. Also see the report comments for an overview * Added another pair of flags for another one of the cases in which scrollbars should also get ignored; when the entire contents of the view are visible, a pair of flags is now set in the view2d data (instead of for the scrollers tempdata only) for detecting this case too * Fixed the potential for scrollbars without zoom handles shown to have those handles still considered. This still happened in the User Preferences window, but has now been disabled. -- These changes still don't solve the bug though. Currently after the scrollbar operator passes through, the Outliner's activate-selection operators still fail to start.
2010-01-29Fix [#20874] zoom to mouse only in 3d viewMatt Ebb
Zoom to mouse was working in 2D Views for modal zoom (ctrl MMB) but not for mouse wheel.
2010-01-11Multitouch trackpad 2 fingers gestures implementationDamien Plisson
- 2 fingers scroll (MOUSEPAN / GHOST_kTrackpadEventScroll event) pans/scrolls the view - 2 fingers pinch (MOUSEZOOM / GHOST_kTrackpadEventMagnify event) zooms the view And in 3D view: - alt + 2 fingers scroll rotates the view - 2 fingers rotation (MOUSEROTATE / GHOST_kTrackpadEventRotate) orbits the view. The implementation uses a new GHOST event type: GHOST_kEventTrackpad, that is then dispatched as Blender MOUSEPAN, MOUSEZOOM or MOUSEROTATE events. This is currently fully implemented for OSX (GHOST Cocoa fires the new events), with auto-detection of the source peripheral, so that a regular mouse still sends MOUSEWHEEL events.
2010-01-062 small view navigation features stolen from other apps :)Matt Ebb
* Now, while rotating a 3D view with MMB held down, you can hold shift to switch to Pan or ctrl to switch to Zoom, without having to let go of MMB. While it sounds simple it makes things really smooth to use and eases repeated presses of MMB. One thing I liked from Max. It's also in the modal key maps, so you can change it to whatever you like. * A similar thing, when panning a 2D View, you can hold LMB to switch to zoom, effectively making MMB+LMB zoom. This is not very useful on a mouse, but it's very nice for tablet use, being able to navigate with one hand (side switch+stylus press) very easily. This one's from Fusion.

note: this works in all views except for nodes which seem to use the view bounds differently
2009-12-17Copy To SelectedBrecht Van Lommel
Until we have proper multi-object editing, this adds a Copy To Selected option to the right mouse button menu for Object and Bone properties, to copy the value from the active object to the selected objects. Also includes some implementation changes to reset to default operator.

2009-11-20Bugfix #19923: UVImage editor gets stuck in move/zoom modeJoshua Leung
2009-11-19* Changed scroll bar scale handles back to scaling from either side, rather ↵Matt Ebb
than to the center (ctrl-drag or mouse wheel works fine for that)
2009-11-18Partial fixes for #19881: Items existing on the same row as the window ↵Joshua Leung
dividers are not interactive (selectable, etc.) The View 2D function for handling scrollbar events now takes into account whether the scrollbar is visible or not, so that it won't block events when the scrollbar isn't visible. Also, made the UI code take this into account too for its region testing code. Unforunately, there still seems to be something else which is still preventing UI buttons from being processed when they are in those regions.
2009-10-08Key ConfigurationBrecht Van Lommel
Keymaps are now saveable and configurable from the user preferences, note that editing one item in a keymap means the whole keymap is now defined by the user and will not be updated by Blender, an option for syncing might be added later. The outliner interface is still there, but I will probably remove it. There's actually 3 levels now: * Default builtin key configuration. * Key configuration loaded from .py file, for configs like Blender 2.4x or other 3D applications. * Keymaps edited by the user and saved in .B.blend. These can be saved to .py files as well to make creating distributable configurations easier. Also, user preferences sections were reorganized a bit, now there is: Interface, Editing, Input, Files and System. Implementation notes: * wmKeyConfig was added which represents a key configuration containing keymaps. * wmKeymapItem was renamed to wmKeyMapItem for consistency with wmKeyMap. * Modal maps are not wrapped yet. * User preferences DNA file reading did not support newdataadr() yet, added this now for reading keymaps. * Key configuration related settings are now RNA wrapped. * is_property_set and is_property_hidden python methods were added.
2009-09-24fix for middle mouse up events not working with modal keymaps (used for fly ↵Campbell Barton
mode). With mouse events event->val started as 0/1 for press/release but later the tweak function made LMB and RMB zero value into KM_RELEASE, somehow MMB didnt get used by the tweak function so was left at 0 and the modal keymap function failed when comparing MMB Mouse ups. now initialize event->val as KM_PRESS/KM_RELEASE
2009-09-182.5: Handlers are now evaluated in a different order, fixing someBrecht Van Lommel
issues like Shift+R (repeat last) not giving capital R in the text editor. There is also new modal handler list at the window level, and the API call will always add it to that one now, since modal handlers were not used in other levels. The order used to be: * window modal + keymap * area modal + keymap * region modal + keymap Now it is: * window modal * region keymap * area keymap * window keymap
2009-09-18Keymaps now have a poll() function, rather than adding/removingBrecht Van Lommel
their handlers based on notifiers, which is simpler and more reliable. This fixes for example editmode or uv edit keymaps not working when creating a new 3dview or image space.
2009-09-07Operator docstring patch from Ron Walker, added console operator docs too.Campbell Barton
2009-09-012.5Ton Roosendaal
Bugfix: new ALT+LMB pan in 2d windows hanged eternally; the modal keymaps didnt support this yet. Is on todo; but fix is easy for now. Also don't know if this is the right way to do it... systems with MMB can also get it as macro (like action mouse, select mouse).
2009-07-302.5: Buttons ViewBrecht Van Lommel
* When resizing the window, the top position is now preserved, instead of the center position. * Fix zoom level not being preserved in various cases, when changing both with and height. This replaces some earlier code which did this at screen level but wasn't very reliable. * Different tabs now each preserve their own scroll. * When switching between tabs, it now scrolls to show as many buttons as possible, instead of possibly showing empty space. There is a trade-off here between doing that keeping the buttons in the same place, no ideal solution exists I think. * Change zooming in/out to be symmetric, for example doing numpad + then - did not give the original zoom level back. * Added some calls to avoid hanging tooltips when manipulating the view. Internals: * Added V2D_KEEPOFS_X and V2D_KEEPOFS_Y to keep the top/bottom rather than the center. * Renamed V2D_KEEPZOOM to V2D_LIMITZOOM (seems more appropriate), and make V2D_KEEPZOOM preserve the zoom level.

First step towards keymap editor! Before getting too excited: - doesn't save yet - no rna properties can be defined - no insert/remove keymap options yet - no option yet to set 'key press/release' But what does work; - Keymap list is in outliner, new category (Keymaps are listed in order as being created now) - enable/disable a keymap entry: click on dot icon - it displays python api names for ops - browse new operator for keymap (menu button) - set keymap to use other keys, mouse or tweak events - four modifier key options I first intent to test it all well, there are still quite some modal map conflicts (like border select) and there's problems assigning items to tweaks Another issue is that a visual editor for keymaps might be quite hard to use... the amount of data and options is just not so fun for a buttons menu. There are ways to improve this though. Maybe do this via a script?
2009-07-25- report header buttons were not drawing.Campbell Barton
- shift+b in the console would do border zoom (rather then upper case B), fixed by making v2d's border zoom check if the v2d's zoom is locked. - blender in debug mode registers all operators, useful for testing.
2009-07-17- Scrollbars for the console (use View2D functions)Campbell Barton
- Set View2D operators not to register, got in the way a lot with the console. - Made autocomplete Ctrl+Enter so Tab can be used. - Should work with python 2.5 now. (patch from Vilda) - Moved report struct definitions into DNA_windowmanager_types.h, could also have DNA_report_types.h however the reports are not saved, its just needed so the report list can be used in the wmWindowManager struct. Fixes a crash reported by ZanQdo. - Store the report message length in the report so calculating the total height including word wrap is not so slow.
2009-07-142.5 - Scrollbars are now shown when a list of panels can't fit in viewJoshua Leung
Notes: - These may be taking up a bit too much room in some situations. Perhaps an option to turn these on/off is needed? - I've added a quick hack in area.c -> ED_region_panels_init() to set the flags to make scrollbars show up in regions whose View2D data has already been initialised. This is primarily aimed at the Buttons Window in the 2.5 defaults file, which seems to have been saved in 2.5 or so - The expand icons on either end of the scrollers don't really seem to be necessary? (or not working yet)
2009-07-112.5: X11Brecht Van Lommel
* Cursor grabbing is now done only if the OPTYPE_BLOCKING flag is set for the operator, since for e.g. render it should not block.

* Default panel zoom level user preference, when creating new button windows or pressing home-key to reset. Patch by Matt D., thanks!

More scroller work: - Added subtle arrow widgets to denote a scroller can zoom the view. - Made zoom symmetric (old convention to only zoom "one side" just worked badly)

Cleanup of scroller drawing in 2D windows. Before: http://download.blender.org/institute/rt11.jpg After: http://download.blender.org/institute/rt12.jpg Will add 'zoom' widget circles later, as mockupped here: http://www.reynish.com/files/blender25/fcurve_scrollbar.png Also note the scale values are inside scroller; drawing it on top conflicts with current frame item and markers. Currently scroller disappear entirely when view is total. For Joshua: To make sliders behave nicely, the boundbox (v2d->tot) has to be refreshed on each change. I've added it in graph drawing now, but it could be notifier based I guess... not sure what the correct anim api call would be. Can discuss tomorrow! On todo: Layout config hints so people can make scroller positions swap.

* Fix buttons jumping around when resizing and zoom. Part of this was adding a tiny a 0.001f offset in UI_view2d_view_ortho, otherwise the rounding is unpredictable (used to be 0.375f, but that was disabled). * Fix various issues with zooming, panning panels. V2D_LOCKOFS_X/Y is now taken into account in more places in the view2d code, to avoid zooming into the center or panning out of the view. * Remove "Free" align mode in buttons window (it's not really useful). * View3D/Graph/Image editors now use the same PanelType system as the buttons window, means some deprecated panel code could be removed. * Some small visual tweaks for panels. * View 2D Reset operator (Home key), to reset zoom and panning for panels. * Added argument to set number buttons as sliders (slider=True for itemR). * Ignore labels for button alignment (doesn't look right). * Fix some use of context.main in py scripts, should get data from active object instead. * Fix autotexspace -> auto_texspace in py script.
2009-03-29- use clear, set, add, enable, disable and toggle as a prefix in operator namesCampbell Barton
- use select as a suffix eg UV_OT_loop_select -> UV_OT_select_loop - Each select all operator was using slightly different wording... select_all, deselect_all, de_select_all, select_de_select_all -> select_all_toggle - selection -> select - POSE_OT_select_connected -> POSE_OT_select_linked to match other operators - NODE_OT_delete_selection -> NODE_OT_delete since its not used in other operators - ANIM_OT_previewrange_define -> ANIM_OT_previewrange_set to match other operators - NODE_OT_fit_all -> NODE_OT_view_all to match other operators - View2D_OT_* -> VIEW2D_OT_* to match VIEW3D - View2D_OT_view_downscroll -> VIEW2D_OT_scroll_down more logical - removed MARKER_OT_mouseselect_extend and made extend a boolean property of MARKER_OT_mouseselect - MARKER_OT_mouseselect -> MARKER_OT_select - GROUP_OT_group_remove -> GROUP_OT_objects_remove more logical since its removing objects from groups - MESH_OT_removedoublesflag -> MESH_OT_remove_doubles - redundant words MESH_OT_split_mesh -> MESH_OT_split, OBJECT_OT_object_delete -> OBJECT_OT_delete renamed selection operator properties extend_select -> extend column_select -> column select_children_only -> children_only ... Since these are all in the context of selection operators there is no need for the extra 'select' in the property name. Updated docs http://www.graphicall.org/ftp/ideasman42/html/bpyoperator-module.html
2009-03-01View2D: Removed the hacks from commit 19005 as they weren't actually needed. ↵Joshua Leung
The keymap currently contains some special method for coping with this.

Small fixes for filewindow; - on resize area/window, the load button disappeared. - made scrollers indicate what direction works - mousewheel scroll switches to horizontal automatically now (assuming we keep filelists horiz, previews vertical scrolled) View2d got hacked a bit by me for it; i guess for some cases the scroll value should become customizable. Will come back later!

*** Proof of concept! **** 3D window Panels back, in own designated region for now. Activate or hide it with Nkey. Note that Background Image doesn't work yet, Transform Orientations probably need tests by Martin, Sculpt options have to be recoded there by Nicholas. The UI design sessions will of course review all of this! We'll have to solve a lot of related topics; - navigation (where) and context (what) - non-overlapping layouts vs floating panels/bars - properties vs tools (toolbars) - drop panels and make nice (semi-automated) list views? I've also done experiments with making the main 3d view stay 'behind' the buttons region. That makes popping buttons in and out less distracting, but also makes it obscuring the view... it's not in this commit, it didn't work proper :) To get that work it has to be handled by the internal compositor, then it even can have fancy transparency in back. Anyhoo, time enough to play with this a while. Especially for Image window (paint) it can work well too.
2009-02-092.5 - Assorted View2D-Related CleanupsJoshua Leung
* Removed Sequencer's own 'border zoom' tool. There is a generic one in View2D that should be used instead. * Changed the hotkey for View2D's version of borderzoom to Shift-B * Fixed a few hotkey mentions entries in old menus * Added set start/end frame operators for TimeLine. (SKEY and EKEY) * Fixed various issues in Graph Editor - channels area is now drawn wide enough to show the 'protect' toggles without needing to scroll - new Graph Editors have 'auto-snap' enabled by default
2009-02-07View2D bugfix:Joshua Leung
The previous fix for zooming only worked as lucky coincident. It was the flag that was wrong, not the var.

View2D bug: zooming failed in node editor due to check for wrong variable (keepzoom instead of keepofs :)

* Added more compact property definitions, with a single function. Only used by operators at the moment, would need to tweak regular expressions a bit more to use it also for other RNA definitions. * The operator properties defined now were completed a bit more but still have many issues that need to be adressed, specifically; * Some properties that should be booleans or enums are defined as ints, note that ints are only for numeric values, not bitflags or multiple choice. * Soft/hard limits and default values of many properties are not well defined still, * Inconsistent naming, especially for example mouse locations or bounds are named differently in different places. Also mouse locations and other vector like properties should become a single vector property instead of multiple X/Y properties. * Almost no properties have descriptions, these would be good to have for docs and tooltips. So, please verify that the properties of the operators you wrote are well defined.
2009-01-022.5 - Silencing more MSVC warningsJoshua Leung
2009-01-022.5 - Animation and View2D Joshua Leung
* Added back deselect all (and invert all) tools for Animation Channels (i.e. channel list in Action Editor). * Resolved all MSVC warnings (I came across) in View2d code. Also, added a new API method to get the coordinates (in 'view' space) of a listview 'cell' given the row + column the cell is in. * Tidied up a few comments here and there
2009-01-012.5Ton Roosendaal
- Made scrollwheel behave uniform for zooming. It uses the UserDef to map what's in our out. Use keymap entries WHEELINMOUSE and WHEELOUTMOUSE to trigger this. Also removed the feature to store in event->val the direction, it was conflicting with KM_ANY. - Added more default poll callbacks, use for generic ops things like ED_operator_object_active.

2008-12-25View2D: Border-Zoom toolJoshua Leung
From the Christmas goodie-bag, I've added the border-zoom tool (also known as 'Zoom to Border'). This can be activated using the Shift-ZKEY hotkey (Note: this probably won't be the final hotkey choice, but I'm trying to keep Shift-BKEY free for data-editing tools). With this method of zooming, you define a border for the current viewable area to 'fit' into. * drawing the region with LMB will zoom in the view by focussing in on the defined region * drawing the region with RMB will zoom out of the view by shrinking the view into the defined region
