Rename function EDBM_update_generic to EDBM_update, use a parameters
argument for better readability.
Also add calc_normals argument, which will have benefits when
calculating normals and tessellation together is optimized.
|
|
Draw functions used RNA_pointer_create to create the pointer,
however this already exists in the operator.
|
|
Any dynamic enum access would not use the callback.
Always set the owner_id to avoid this causing problems.

Approximately 138 changes in the spelling of compound words
and proper names like "Light Probe", "Shrink/Fatten", "Face Map".
In many cases, hyphens were used where they aren't correct, like
"re-fit". Other common changes include:
- "Datablock" -> "data-block"
- "Floating point" -> "floating-point"
- "Ngons" -> "n-gons"
These changes help give the language used in the interface
a consistent, more professional feel.

This matches the change that was done to the bevel modifier so that the
interface for the modifier, the active tool, and the operator are consistent.
This commit extends the refactor to the bmesh implementation too, so
that the parameters in the implementation don't stray too far from what
is exposed.
Tests are adjusted and still pass.

Operators are one of the last places in Blender to use older UI designs
that don't fit in with recent style conventions. This commit updates
these custom operator UI callbacks for consistency and clarity.
Some of the code is also simplified a lot. Some of the older operator layouts
were much more complex (in terms of code) than they needed to be.
See the differential revision for a before and after screenshot
of each operator.

This addresses warnings from Clang-Tidy's `readability-else-after-return`
rule in the `source/blender/editors/mesh` module.
No functional changes.
|
|
This will allow the easier addition of a constant radius mode in the
future and some changes in the UI to mirror the recent similar change
from "Only Vertices" to the "Affect" enum.
|
|
This mode is like Percent, but measures absolute distance along
adjacent edges instead of a percentage.
So, for example, if you use this mode with 2 segments and profile=1,
you will see the length that the bevel moves along unbeveled edges
between beveled ones will match the value specified.
Many users seem to expect this behavior, even though it means the
bevel width is uneven, so this option is for them.

This reverts commit f50222ba2e3e4aa461c23b4f0b3f3382a9e0632c.
|
|
Because this controls how the amount is used in should be set first and
is more important therefor place it at the top.
This is also consistent with other areas in Blender

Follow up of b2ee1770d4c3 and 10c2254d412d, part of T74432.
Now the area and region naming conventions should be less confusing.
Mostly a careful batch rename but had to do few smaller fixes.
Also ran clang-format on affected files.
|
|
Rename:
- WM_modalkeymap_add to WM_modalkeymap_ensure
- WM_modalkeymap_get to WM_modalkeymap_find
|
|
|
|
The old convention was easy to confuse with ScrArea.
Part of https://developer.blender.org/T74432.
This is mostly a batch rename with some manual fixing. Only single word
variable names are changed, no prefixed/suffixed names.
Brecht van Lommel and Campbell Barton both gave me a green light for
this convention change.
Also ran clan clang format on affected files.
|
|
Also rename struct members to 'launch_event', since it's more
descriptive and was called this in some places.
|
|
|
|
|
|
This avoids a list lookup in Main (recently added), passing in a mesh
instead of an edit-mesh, since the mesh links to the edit-mesh.
|
|
The pointer is causing issues since two objects can share an edit-mesh,
removing in stages, see T72848.
Also fixes the material index being clamped by every object.

Custom profiles in bevel allows the profile curve to be controlled by
manually placed control points. Orientation is regularized along
groups of edges, and the 'pipe case' is updated. This commit includes
many updates to comments and changed variable names as well.
A 'cutoff' vertex mesh method is added to bevel in addition to the
existing grid fill option for replacing vertices.
The UI of the bevel modifier and tool are updated and unified.
Also, a 'CurveProfile' widget is added to BKE for defining the profile
in the interface, which may be useful in other situations.

Cheap tip: anything that is not "Camel Case" and/or that is more than

Commit 208fafb to fix bevel tool units included a change to always
start modal in offset mode. This was may or may not be right but
broke a way in which users could set percent mode and then subsequently
start a modal that bevels in that mode. So going back to old way.
|
|
The mouse movement scale needed adjusting according to object scale,
since the amount is on the unscaled model but the viewport shows the
scaled one.
Also fixed proper units for amounts in bevel tool, as was already
done for modifier. Percent should be comfortably adjustable by mouse.

While \file doesn't need an argument, it can't have another doxy
command after it.
|
|
When modal map was introduced, left out handling of what
happens when bevel is made active tool in toolbar and user
starts bevel by clicking and dragging.
|
|
The message with shortcuts was hanging around after bevel
exited.
|
|
|
|
Also added keys for toggling harden normals,
and cycling through miter types.
Still to do: add some shortcuts for affecting the
spread value for arc miters.
|
|
Move \ingroup onto same line to be more compact and
make it clear the file is in the group.
