2022-07-09Weight & Vertex Paint: always respect edit mode hiding on faces.Alexander Gavrilov
In some cases it is mandatory to be able to hide parts of the mesh in order to paint certain areas. The Mask modifier doesn't work in weight paint, and edit mode hiding requires using selection, which is not always convenient. This makes the weight and vertex paint modes always respect edit mode hiding like sculpt mode. The change in behavior affects drawing and building paint PBVH. Thus it affects brushes, but not menu operators like Smooth or Normalize. In addition, this makes the Alt-H shortcut available even without any selection enabled, and implements Hide for vertex selection. Differential Revision: https://developer.blender.org/D14163

2022-06-16Fix T98904: GPencil sculpt brushes break after you delete a brushAntonio Vazquez
There were two problems here: 1) Console warnings due to brush was None. 2) It was impossible to recreate a brush. This patch fixes both issues and it is now possible to recreate any brush. Differential Revision: https://developer.blender.org/D15213 Reviewed by: @dflelinto
2022-02-18Curves: initial brush system integration for curves sculpt modeJacques Lucke
This adds the boilerplate code that is necessary to use the tool/brush/paint systems in the new sculpt curves mode. Two temporary dummy tools are part of this patch. They do nothing and only serve to test the boilerplate. When the first actual tool is added, those dummy tools will be removed. Differential Revision: https://developer.blender.org/D14117
2022-02-11File headers: SPDX License migrationCampbell Barton
Use a shorter/simpler license convention, stops the header taking so much space. Follow the SPDX license specification: https://spdx.org/licenses - C/C++/objc/objc++ - Python - Shell Scripts - CMake, GNUmakefile While most of the source tree has been included - `./extern/` was left out. - `./intern/cycles` & `./intern/atomic` are also excluded because they use different header conventions. doc/license/SPDX-license-identifiers.txt has been added to list SPDX all used identifiers. 2021-10-22Fix T92290: Linked Color Palette datablocks can not be used.Bastien Montagne
* Forbid editing linked palettes. * Make `color` RNA property of ColorPalette '`LIB_EXCEPTION`', so that the color buttons in the palette template remain active on linked data. NOTE: This incidently makes linked palettes' colors editable from RNA, not from UI though, so think this is OK for now.

2021-03-02Sculpt: Expand OperatorPablo Dobarro
Expand is a new operator for Sculpt Mode which is intended to be the main tool for masking, Face Set editing, interacting with the filters and pattern creation. The fundamentals of the tool are similar to the previous sculpt.mask_expand operator. It shares the same default shortcuts and functionality, making the previous operator obsolete. The shortcuts to execute the operator are: - Shift + A: Expand mask - Shift + Alt + A: Expand mask by normals - Shift + W: Expand Face Set - Shift + Alt + W: Resize current Face Set The main changes compared to the previous sculpt.mask_expand operator are: - Modal keymap, all operator options can be changed in real time while the operator is running. - Supports creating Mask, Face Sets and Sculpt Vertex Colors. - Much better code, new features can be easily integrated. Limitations: - All Mask operations are supported for Sculpt Vertex colors, but not exposed by default as their support is still experimental. - Dyntopo does not support any Face Set or Sculpt Vertex Colors. functionality (they are not implemented in general for Dyntopo). - Multires does not support any feature related to geodesic distances. - Multires does not support vertex colors. - Multires does not support recursions. - In Multires, Face Sets snaping does not initialize all current enabled Face Sets when toggling snapping. - In Multires, Face Sets are created at base mesh level (works by this by design, like any other tool). - Unlike the previous mask_expand operator, this one does not blur the mask by default after finishing Expand as that does not fit the new design. The mask can still be blurred by using the mask filter manually. Reviewed By: JacquesLucke Differential Revision: https://developer.blender.org/D10455

2020-10-07Refactor: remove `BKE_<id_type>_copy` functions.Bastien Montagne
Those were only shallow wrappers around `BKE_id_copy`, barely used (even fully unused in some cases), and we want to get rid of those ID-specific helpers for the common ID management tasks. Also prevents weird custom behaviors (like `BKE_object_copy`, who was the only basic ID copy function to reset user count of the new copy to zero). Part of 71219.
2020-09-26Sculpt: Line gestures and Mask Line toolPablo Dobarro
This adds support for line gesture to SculptGestureContext and implements a Mask Line tool, which affects everything to the right of a plane defined by the straightline gesture. For this to work, a new WM_gesture_straightline_oneshot_modal is needed which only runs exec when the gesture is over. Added as experimental as it does not have icon. 2020-06-27Palettes: Remove threshold parameter when extract from imagesAntonio Vazquez
Using a number greater than 1 produce a huge number of entries in the palette because any small variation in the color create a new entry. 2019-05-01UV Sculpt: improve tool-system integrationCampbell Barton
In 2.7x UV sculpt was a kind of sub-mode (a toggle with it's own key-map & drawing code). Move this to an operator that uses the tool-system, this simplifies internal logic, especially brush selection which now matches sculpt and other paint modes. - Remove toggle used to enable uv sculpt. - Expose the brush, which was already used but there was no way to select different brushes. - Make UV sculpt use paint paint tool slots (using brushes how all other paint mode currently do). - Move UV Sculpt keymap to the tools keymap. - Remove Q to toggle UV sculpt mode, S/P/G keys to switch tools.

2019-03-08Cleanup: use plural names for Main listsCampbell Barton
Convention was not to but after discussion on 918941483f7e we agree its best to change the convention. Names now mostly follow RNA. Some exceptions: - Use 'nodetrees' instead of 'nodegroups' since the struct is called NodeTree. - Use 'gpencils' instead of 'grease_pencil' since 'gpencil' is a common abbreviation in the C code. Other exceptions: - Leave 'wm' as it's a list of one. - Leave 'ipo' as is for versioning.
