Move the "Show Group Colors" toggle from a per-editor option to a single
user preference in the Animation preferences. The Grease Pencil
animation channel side panel allows picking a channel color; this now
shows a message when channel colors are disabled.
The old "Show Group Colors" toggle had to be set per editor, and was on
by default. This meant that disabling group colors would require an
action for every file, for every editor. It is very hard to select a
color that works both as bone color in the 3D Viewport (needs to be
bright there) as well as the channel list (needs to be dark there), most
animators turn channel list colors off.

We now use GPU_blend for enabling / disabling blending and explicitly
set the blend equation.

The current particle state is stored in a `CustomData` instance and
the cache is stored in `PointCache`.
The current state exists on the copy-on-write copies of the simulation,
while the cache only exists in the original data block.
This patch implements a temporary trivial particle simulation that does not
use the node system yet. It is used for testing and will be replaced soon.
`PointCache` still has some limitations that need to be overcome using
separate refactorings. For example, we need to be able to store the number
of particles in the point cache. Also we need to change which attributes
are stored for a particle system more dynamically than is currently possible afaik.

Note this only changes cases where the variable was declared inside
the for loop. To handle it outside as well is a different challenge.

Follow up of b2ee1770d4c3 and 10c2254d412d, part of T74432.
Now the area and region naming conventions should be less confusing.
Mostly a careful batch rename but had to do few smaller fixes.
Also ran clang-format on affected files.

The old convention was easy to confuse with ScrArea.
Part of https://developer.blender.org/T74432.
This is mostly a batch rename with some manual fixing. Only single word
variable names are changed, no prefixed/suffixed names.
Brecht van Lommel and Campbell Barton both gave me a green light for
this convention change.
Also ran clan clang format on affected files.

I did this mostly to get to know the point cache from this direction.
This should not change anything from the user perspective.

- Use `V2D_SCROLL_` prefix.
- Use more descriptive names.

The text, that was in the scrollbars, stays on the left.

At first you could think that this refactor would not be
necessary, because `ACHANNEL_FIRST` exists already.
It contained the small y offset that all channels had.
Unfortunately, a lot of code assumed that
`ACHANNEL_FIRST = -ACHANNEL_HEIGHT`, making the
define pretty much useless. This refactor fixes that
for the action and nla editor.
As a nice side effect, this patch fixes channel box select.
Before there was always have a half-channel offset.

Make the option enabled by default, and enable it in old files,
unless Show Extremes is enabled.
However, suppress it for the Timeline, because its View menu
doesn't include the option.

Instead of only `ymin` and `ymax`, `ANIM_channel_draw_widgets`
has a rectangle as input now.
This allows the caller to set a custom width for the channel.
Some space types need the extra space for the scrollbar
(drivers, graph), but the other don't have a scrollbar.

While \file doesn't need an argument, it can't have another doxy
command after it.

Move \ingroup onto same line to be more compact and
make it clear the file is in the group.

With the new automatic handle algorithm, it is possible to do a lot
of the animation via keyframes without touching the curves. It is
however necessary to change the keyframe interpolation and handle
types in certain cases. Currently the dopesheet/action editor
allows changing the types, but does not show them in any way.
To fix, add a new menu option to display this information. For handle
type, it is represented using the shape of the key icons: diamond for
Free, clipped diamond for Aligned, square for Vector, circle for Auto
Clamp, and cirle with dot for Automatic.
Non-bezier interpolation is a property of intervals between keys,
so it is marked by drawing lines, similar to holds. In this initial
version, only the fact of non-bezier interpolation is displayed,
without distinguishing types. For summaries, the line is drawn at
half alpha if not all curves in the group are non-bezier.
In addition, it is sometimes helpful to know the general direction
of change of the curve, and which keys are extremes. This commit
also adds an option to highlight extremes, based on comparing the
keyed values with adjacent keys. Half-intensity display is used
for overshot bezier extremes, or non-uniform summaries.

Add the necessary colors and/or alpha components to the theme instead.
Also switch the background for ordinary channels to use the likely
intended theme option, instead of the window background color.
The general rule is that the channel color is drawn full strength in the
channel list on the left, and with alpha in the actual key frame area on
the right. This alpha is also reused with bone group colors.

This translates the gl calls to the new GPU_ wrappers from D3501.
Given it's tedious and repetitive work, this patch does as much as it can with search + replace, the remainder of the gl calls will need to be manually dealt with on a case by case basis.
This fixes 13 of the 28 failing editors when building without opengl.
For the list of substitutions see D3502

These were runtime only data, used in pre 2.8 Blender to make use of GL vertex arrays
to draw these more efficiently. Maybe we might restore these sometime as an optimisation
step, but for now, they're not needing and were confusing.

Use consistent prefix for gawain API names as well as
some abbreviations to avoid over-long names, see: D2678

- use best function for the job
- don't specify alpha if 100%
- 'f' for floating point literals

Getting ready for a Gawain API change...

See intern/gawain for the API change. Other files are updated to use the new name. Also updated every call site to the recommended style:
unsigned int foo = VertexFormat_add_attrib(format, "foo", COMP_ ... )
|
|
|
|
Also some conversion to new imm mode (T49043).
Multiple editors affected.
We could push this even further & draw all keyframes in an editor with a single draw call.
Something is strange with keyframe markers in blender2.8 -- they're not showing up before or after this commit. They do appear in master. This commit probably needs some follow-up work after keyframes are showing again. Better to share this code now instead of sitting on it.
|
|
Some `UI_ThemeColor` calls were left in converted files, in some cases
because they were just overlooked, and in the case of text drawing,
because the new BLF color functions were not yet implemented at the
time of conversion.
Also converted one `drawcircball` call that was left in
