2009-08-032.5 - MetaBalls are now animateableJoshua Leung
2009-07-24ParticleSettings animdata wasn't shown in graph editor, dope sheet and nla ↵Janne Karhu
editor. Tiny bug fix too: Had forgotten particle child length setting from do_versions so old files with child hair showed all hair with zero length.
2009-07-10NLA SoC: Attempt at solving the jumping-views problem Joshua Leung
The 'jumping-views' problem affected the NLA and DopeSheet editors, whereby the channels-list and the data-area would get out of sync (vertically) due to the size calculations of the two being done differently.
2009-07-10NLA SoC: Tweaks from feedback from Broken + jezJoshua Leung
* Renamed the 'blend' blending mode to 'replace', since that's what it usually does * Drawing a darkened rect behind the keyframes shown in the action line -- * Fixed typo made last night which broke compiling * Consolidated all the keyframe-shape drawing code to use a single codebase. Even if we don't ultimately go with OpenGL keyframes, there's always a tidy option for that now.
2009-07-09NLA SoC: Cleanup of Keyframe Drawing code for DopeSheetJoshua Leung
* Removed the glaMapping stuff in favour of remapping the keyframes manually. The old code was causing some mess, and not really working well for the DopeSheet with various mappings being used. * Fixed NLA-mapped selection in DopeSheet. Clicking on individual keyframes should now work ok. More testing required though. * Keyframes in DopeSheet are now drawn fully using OpenGL (instead of icons). They look less tactile now, but this may be compensated with in terms of speed? Previously I disabled this type of drawing due to issues with some cards. Enabled again for now, but mainly because I couldn't get the icons to line up nicely in screenspace... * Borderselect in DopeSheet. I've had a look at issues with it selecting the wrong channel's keyframes. The issues don't seem to be solved yet though... will look again tomorrow.
2009-07-03NLA SoC: Muting and Graph-Editor Curve visibility for (Action) GroupsJoshua Leung
Groups (the Action variety) can now be muted, and also be set to not be drawn in the Graph Editor. These settings get applied to all the F-Curves within the group, overriding any settings individual F-Curves might have, allowing users to quickly mute or hide groups of curves without having to go through clicking on all of them. Also, added a flag that can be used to set the curve visiblity on AnimData level too. This will be enabled in a future commit.

2009-06-23NLA SoC: Big Commit - Restored NLA-Mapping Corrections Joshua Leung
In TweakMode, the keyframes of the Active Action are now shown (and can be edited) in NLA-mapped time, with appropriate corrections applied when editing. This works in the DopeSheet and Graph Editors :) To do this, got rid of the old wrappers/API-methods, replacing them with new-style ones. A few methods previously (in this branch) used only for evaluation are now used for this purpose too. As the same code is used for editing + evaluation, this should now be much better to work with. I've only done a few brief tests now, but I think I might've muddled the invert-flags on one or two cases which I'll need to check out tomorrow. So, beware that there may be some weird and critical bugs for the next few days here... Also, added proper license headers to new NLA files. TODO: - testing + bugfixing due to this commit - show range of keyframes in NLA Editor active-action line

Summary of ain features: - Themes and Styles are now editable. - CTRL+U "Save user defaults" now goes to new .B25.blend, so you can use 2.4x and 2.5x next to each other. If B25 doesn't exist, it reads the regular .B.blend - Press Tkey in 3d window for (unfinished) toolbar WIP. It now only shows the last operator, if appropriate. Nkey properties moved to the other side. A lot of work was done on removing old themes for good and properly getting it work with the 2.5 region system. Here's some notes; - Buttons now all have a complete set of colors, based on button classifications (See outliner -> user prefs -> Interface - Theme colors have been extended with basic colors for region types. Currently colors are defined for Window, Header, List/Channels and for Button/Tool views. The screen manager handles this btw, so a TH_BACK will always pick the right backdrop color. - Menu backdrops are in in Button theme colors. Floating Panels will be in the per-space type Themes. - Styles were added in RNA too, but only for the font settings now. Only Panel font, widget font and widget-label work now. The 'group label' will be for templates mostly. Style settings will be expanded with spacing defaults, label conventions, etc. - Label text colors are stored in per-space Theme too, to make sure they fit. Same goes for Panel title color. Note that 'shadow' for fonts can conflict with text colors; shadow color is currently stored in Style... shadow code needs a bit of work still.
2009-04-172.5 Animation UI Tweaks:Joshua Leung
* Added back backgrounds behind buttons for modifiers and driver targets * 'Protect' toggle doesn't draw for F-Curves with no keyframes to prevent editing on anymore * Inserting keyframes on objects using builtin keyingsets now use the right names
2009-04-142.5Ton Roosendaal
More cleanup! - removed old UI font completely, including from uiBeginBlock - emboss hints for uiBlock only have three types now; Regular, Pulldown, or "Nothing" (only icon/text) - removed old font path from Userdef - removed all old button theme hinting - removed old "auto block" to merge buttons in groups (was only in use for radiosity buttons) And went over all warnings. One hooray for make giving clean output :) Well, we need uniform definitions for warnings, so people at least fix them... here's the real bad bugs I found: - in mesh code, a call to editmesh mixed *em and *me - in armature, ED_util.h was not included, so no warnings for wrong call to ED_undo_push() - The extern Py api .h was not included in the bpy_interface.c, showing a several calls using different args. Further just added the missing includes, and removed unused vars.
2009-04-13Animato Bugfixes:Joshua Leung
* Copying objects with animation data now works correctly. Previously, actions were not getting copied correctly, leading to loss of data in some cases. * Action and Graph editors now display the name of the Action concerned (for 'Action' folder channels), making it easier to tell which AnimData blocks are sharing the same actions * Added some code to make relative KeyingSets (converted from absolute ones) work better.
2009-04-102.5Ton Roosendaal
Grand cleanup: - removal of FTF and ftfont dir - removal of text.c which wrapped it - wrapped old text drawing code temporarily, need to decide how 'style' will behave per editor when you draw strings outside interface code.... wouldn't be very useful to set fonts locally all over?
2009-02-22Animation Editors: Drawing stuffJoshua Leung
* Added basic panels (Info, Drivers - where applicable, Modifiers) for editing active F-Curve/driver in Graph Editor. The buttons layouts here are really really rough, and have only got a few buttons to be sufficient for debugging purposes. Unfortunately, I don't have time to tweak these nicely now. * Fixed indention errors with Action Groups used in Material actions * Changing mode in the Graph Editor now recalculates colours
2009-02-192.5Ton Roosendaal
Made sliders behave correct in SpaceGraph and SpaceAction. - no slider draw when all is visible - sliders update correct when visibility changes. Still an issue here to tackle; view2d->tot is used incorrect... it's set on window size now (??), it should be the boundbox of the entire contents. That allows correct slider draws and ops like 'view home'. Will poke Joshua tomorrow. :)
2009-02-18* More icon naming updatesMatt Ebb
2009-02-18* Cleaned up naming of icon ID constants. This helps fix bad icons in the ↵Matt Ebb
graph editor among others.
2009-02-13Animato: Various improvementsJoshua Leung
* Scene and World AnimDatas are now included in animation editors * Keyframes for integer-value settings now get the FCURVE_INT_VALUES flag set for their F-Curves, which restricts those curves to only having integer-values. F-Curve displays have been altered accordingly, but some editing tools may still need tweaks to work with this. * Fixed notifiers for Insert Keyframe -> Active Keying Set.
2009-02-11Keying Sets: Initial commit of skeleton codeJoshua Leung
When fully implemented, these will be the clearest demonstration of 'Everything is Animateable', as they will allow users to define an arbitary group of settings through selecting items in the Datablocks (RNA-Viewer) View of the Outliner to define custom 'sets'. Such Keying Sets are known as the 'absolute' ones, which are created for a custom purpose. Of course, 'builtin' Keying Sets will still be provided. Such built-in ones will not work on any particular paths, but will use context info to maintain the legacy method of inserting keyframes (via IKEY menu). Currently, KeyingSets cannot be created/edited through the UI, though the backend code is in place to do this.
2009-02-11DopeSheet/Action Editor: Fixed display and expand-widget of 'Group' channelsJoshua Leung
2009-02-09Graph Editor: Drawing tweaks for previous commitJoshua Leung
* Group channels are drawn with better indention now * Colors for group channels in Graph Editor are now initialised properly * When selecting individual keyframes in Graph Editor, it is now possible to see which curve it belonged to, as the 'active' and 'selected' flags are set on that curve only.
2009-02-09Animato: Added 'experimental' grouping schemes for F-CurvesJoshua Leung
When inserting keyframes on previous un-animated Objects/bones, F-Curves will be added into Action Groups into either "Object Transform" or <PoseChannel Name>. Ob->Material settings are not grouped for now to illustrate what's possible. Old files are currently not patched to use do this, as it's still not clear whether this will be ideal.
2009-01-26Animato/2.5 - Graph Editor (i.e. the new 'IPO Editor') Joshua Leung
This commit brings back the drawing code for the 'Graph Editor'. I've decided to call it this, as currently it can show either F-Curves for Animation stored in Actions, or F-Curves for Drivers. Currently, it shows all curves, since some of the necessary filtering code (i.e. for limiting curve visibility) hasn't been put in place yet. At least this serves as good proof that we can have F-Curves from multiple sources at least. It should be noted that the code still has to be modified to work with some of the new Animato features, such as F-Curve Modifiers (cycles are an example of one of the features that use this). Also, a nicer way to set the colours of the curves needs to be investigated. Notes: * Fixed a few bugs in RNA User-Preferences wrapping * The keyframe drawing uses the new-style drawing for handles from AnimSys2. There's a minor bug that sometimes occurs, where a distorted handle gets drawn at the origin of the grid on the first run. Hints anyone? * Removed most of the old data from SpaceIpo struct, as the new code uses that. Maybe later, the directories/files at least should get renamed. * Removed ancient hack for NVidia/TNT drivers. It is probably no longer needed, but could be restored if someone needs it.
2009-01-262.5 DopeSheet/Action Editor Joshua Leung
* Made the various datatypes in the DopeSheet get shown again (NOTE: some of the types that don't get conversions to Animato yet may need some further checking). * Did some code cleanup to allow F-Curve channels to always show RNA-based names correctly
2009-01-25Animato - Bugfixes + Nicer names in Action Editor Joshua Leung
* Action Editor/Dopesheet now displays names retrieved from RNA in the form - "<Struct/OwnerName>.<PropertyName>.<ArrayIndex>" i.e. "HeadBone.Location.X" i.e. "Cube.Rotation.Y" i.e. "Material.Diffuse Color.G" For now, the first part of the name may be unclear as it is easy to confuse Material channels with Object ones if the material was called "Object1" or so (theoretrical example only). This will be explored further. * Also, fixed crashes when loading some old files with 'Object' Action Channels in their Actions
2009-01-23Animato Bugfixes:Joshua Leung
* Fixed bug in with RNA-paths. String identifiers (i.e. some_collection["somekey"]) were not getting handled at all due to wrong indices it seems. I don't know of any other code using this, so hopefully there aren't any unintended bugs caused by this. This means that bone animation now works again. * Added a few more sanity checks to file-reading code, and heaps of extra prints everywhere else for debugging purposes (these will be removed in due course).
2009-01-22Animato - Basic version patching supportJoshua Leung
This is work-in-progress patching support for converting animation saved in old system to work in the new one. * Only IPOs/Actions directly attached to Objects + Shapekeys are converted for now. More types will follow... * This is currently done as a step outside of do_versions() due to problems with various pointers not having been resolved yet, but which are necessary for correct resolution of issues such as drivers... However, the current code does illustrate how the data should be converted to give best results/compat between the two systems. * Still need to get the converted data working with depsgraph correctly. Currently, some of my testfiles work, but the BBB files still don't.
2009-01-20Animato - Restoring most of Action Editor Joshua Leung
* Streamlined the filtering code to remove a few redundant options, which required tweaking the code for most tools * F-Curves are simply displayed using their full paths right now. This should eventually be the UI-string stored in RNA, but right now there are still a few missing things. * There are a few tools which are not available yet which were available in 2.5 before Animato was added: - Copy/Paste - Rearrange channels Also, the DopeSheet is not totally functional (in terms of displaying animation data for sub-object data yet). That will be added tomorrow. * Added 'Action Group' pointer to F-Curves, as it will be handy for allowing Bone channels to still remain grouped as they were before with the Action Channels. However, reintroducing such a structure to the data-storage is not anticipated...
2009-01-022.5 - Action Editor: Toggle settingsJoshua Leung
* Added back enable (Ctrl-Shift-W), disable (Alt-W), and toggle (Shift-W) operators to channels view. They are separate operators which use the same backend code. * Fixed icon-drawing for IPO-curve 'protect' buttons. After doing this, I've realised that many tools will need some alterations to take this into account. That commit will come later.
2009-01-022.5 - Silencing more MSVC warningsJoshua Leung
2009-01-012.5 - Assorted bugfixesJoshua Leung
* Dopesheet - clicking on keyframes in Object channels (if they came from Object-Data such as Lamps, etc.) would crash. I noticed this error in AnimSys2 yesterday * Action Editor - do versions code now totally reinitialises the Action Editor View2D data (for the timespace), since I found a few files where there appeared to be some weird settings set. * RNA Browser (Outliner->Datablocks) would crash when the Area was ripped (using Alt-R hotkey) as seen in mfoxdogg's 2.5 Tour 2
2009-01-012.5:Joshua Leung
First commit for 2009! Started of porting of Animation Editor Channels stuff. This code will be used for both the Action and IPO editors, so any existing code involving this has now been moved to the Animation module. * Added mouse-click operator for this channels view. Note: the selection stuff currently uses temporary toggling code only (i.e. it only toggles the selection of the channels in the editor, but does not update status of rest of database). * Fixed bugs in View2D listview functions. Reduced the amount of code needed, and makes the code here simpler. * Renamed action_edit_keyframes.c to action_edit.c, since channels are not handled there anymore. * Dopesheet now refreshes correctly when object selection elsewhere changes.
2008-12-262.5: various warning fixes. There was one actual bug in a few differentBrecht Van Lommel
places, using sprintf with strings like ID names as the format string (note that this name can contain a % character).
2008-12-26UI: PanelsBrecht Van Lommel
* API and usage is basically the same still. * Panels were moved to region level. I first thought of keeping them at area level, but having them at region level it's simpler to handle events and do drawing, and also to integrate with view2d. They can still become area level overlapping regions, if we make a floating (or docked) region that can contain panels. * Added back a few panels from the scene buttons for testing. Issues still: * The view2d handling and alignment refresh of panels is not correct yet in the buttons window. * I did not yet bring back the block handlers system. It was basically a system that stored which panel was open and where the events for that panel would go. Just a few functions, but not sure how it fits in 2.5. * There was a case where dragging panels would not properly remove the window level handler, but could not redo anymore even though I don't think I fixed it. * Some text in the panels goes past the end of the button, that is due to the checkmark button drawing, not related to this commit. Other UI code changes: * Renamed interface.h to interface_intern.h for consistency. * Fixed some issues with freeing of blocks when they changed due to context. * uiDrawBlock now takes a context pointer (mostly for block drawextra).
2008-12-262.5 - Action Editor: All Keyframe Selection Tools PortedJoshua Leung
User Notes (for using tools whose behaviour has changed): * Mouse Selection Tools: 1) Click on keyframe to modify its selection. Holding the 'Shift' modifier when doing so, will result in keyframe selection being toggled instead of replacing existing selections. 2) Click on either side of the current frame indicator while holding the 'Alt' modifier. This will select only all the keyframes on the relevant side of the current frame indicator. 3) Click on a keyframe while holding the 'Ctrl' modifier. This will select all the keyframes that fall on that frame. * Borderselect Tools 1) BKEY selects all the keyframes within the specified range (as per normal) 2) ALT-BKEY will select either all the keyframes in the frame-range specified or the channel range specified, depending on which axis of the select region was larger. This method is prejudiced towards frame-range selection. Code Notes: * Finished porting over all of the remaining keyframe selection tools, and recoded the ported ones to make them easier to use (after running into some technical limitations) * Simplified the way to check if 'animation context' is valid by moving a necessary check into that function. * Refactored internal keyframe-looping tools to reduce the amount of code needed per tool to edit keyframes, removing a lot of the unnecessary bulk. Now, the ipo/icu_keys_bezier_loop functions recieve a few more arguments (1st arg is pointer to generic customdata, and another defines a validation callback which makes it easier to reuse some of the select callbacks). * Added 'totrect' adjustment for number of channels being shown in Action Editor, so that scrolling will be limited to where there is data (and also so that scroller displays more relevant context info). For this to work, filtering channels now returns the number of channels extracted. This may come into use for other tools if there's such a need. * I still need to port over some code for markers, which is required for some of the tools which use them. For now, those tools do nothing. * Grease-Pencil editing mode in Action Editor is currently non-functional (code is commented out due to missing dependencies). This is currently pending the re-implementation of Grease Pencil in 2.5
2008-12-222.5 - Animation tweaks - bringing back more codeJoshua Leung
* Action Editor - IPO curve names are shown properly again. Added anim_ipo_utils.c (old editipo_lib.c) file back. This will need to be removed when I port IPO system to RNA. * Keyframing code - uncommented more of the code that's now working * Made the 'preview range' button on timeline header draw more clearly
2008-12-222.5 - Action Editor BugfixesJoshua Leung
* Restored y-position translations needed for gla-stuff, as gla stuff sets viewport + matrices! * Fixed alpha-problems with icons. The ft-font drawing was turning off GL_BLEND when it was done, which screwed up the icon drawing (previous names were drawn with 'standard' fonts only) * Removed Context arg from drawing funcs. Passing anim-context instead. * Properly initialised new theme settings ported over from animsys2.
2008-12-222.5 - Action Editor / DopesheetJoshua Leung
Initial commit of drawing code for Action Editor / Dopesheet. By default, the Dopesheet is now enabled (like in AnimSys2). There are still a few unresolved problems (like bad alpha blending for icons, and keyframes still not being drawn). However, these will be resolved in due course.
