2022-03-14RNA: Generate property declerations header, solving msg-bus C++ incompatibilityJulian Eisel
Lets `makesrna` generate a `RNA_prototypes.h` header with declarations for all RNA properties. This can be included in regular source files when needing to reference RNA properties statically. This solves an issue on MSVC with adding such declarations in functions, like we used to do. See 800fc1736748. Removes any such declarations and the related FIXME comments. 2022-02-11File headers: SPDX License migrationCampbell Barton
Use a shorter/simpler license convention, stops the header taking so much space. Follow the SPDX license specification: https://spdx.org/licenses - C/C++/objc/objc++ - Python - Shell Scripts - CMake, GNUmakefile While most of the source tree has been included - `./extern/` was left out. - `./intern/cycles` & `./intern/atomic` are also excluded because they use different header conventions. doc/license/SPDX-license-identifiers.txt has been added to list SPDX all used identifiers. See P2788 for the script that automated these edits. Reviewed By: brecht, mont29, sergey Ref D14069
2022-02-07Curves: Rename "Hair" types, variables, and functions to "Curves"Hans Goudey
Based on discussions from T95355 and T94193, the plan is to use the name "Curves" to describe the data-block container for multiple curves. Eventually this will replace the existing "Curve" data-block. However, it will be a while before the curve data-block can be replaced so in order to distinguish the two curve types in the UI, "Hair Curves" will be used, but eventually changed back to "Curves". This patch renames "hair-related" files, functions, types, and variable names to this convention. A deep rename is preferred to keep code consistent and to avoid any "hair" terminology from leaking, since the new data-block is meant for all curve types, not just hair use cases. The downside of this naming is that the difference between "Curve" and "Curves" has become important. That was considered during design discussons and deemed acceptable, especially given the non-permanent nature of the somewhat common conflict. Some points of interest: - All DNA compatibility is lost, just like rBf59767ff9729. - I renamed `ID_HA` to `ID_CV` so there is no complete mismatch. - `hair_curves` is used where necessary to distinguish from the existing "curves" plural. - I didn't rename any of the cycles/rendering code function names, since that is also used by the old hair particle system. 2022-01-30Cleanup: Cmake: remove unnecessary definitions for internationalizationAaron Carlisle
Previously, macros were ifdefed using the cmake option `WITH_INTERNATIONAL` However, the is unnecessary as withen the functions themselves have checks for building without internationalization. This also means that many `add_definitions(-DWITH_INTERNATIONAL)` are also unnecessary. Reviewed By: mont29, LazyDodo Differential Revision: https://developer.blender.org/D13929
2021-05-20Cleanup: rename incorrectly named experimental feature flagJacques Lucke
The `WITH_GEOMETRY_NODES` flag does not make sense anymore, it is just protecting the `Simulation` data block that is not used currently.
2020-12-15Move Point Cloud object back to Experimental FeaturesDalai Felinto
The geometry-nodes features no longer depend on the point cloud object. Therefore the point cloud object, although important in the future, can be postponed until we have render and edit mode fully working. This reverts commits: * ea74ed5a7a2031b614d401e394f2e0146fc90155. * dc614c68ef2c8ca8b076a000974b5a20a4145a42.
2020-12-02Cleanup: remove all of "#ifdef WITH_POINT_CLOUD"Dalai Felinto
Since Point Cloud was removed from experimental this is no longer needed.
2020-10-21Preferences: separate feature flags for geometry nodes and point cloud typeJacques Lucke
Those two features are not directly related and one might be activated in master earlier than the other. WITH_PARTICLE_NODES was removed, because we continue the project under the name "Geometry Nodes".

2020-08-18Remove (ifdef) RNA for simulation, point cloud and particlesDalai Felinto
For 2.90 release this should not be exposed in the RNA API. In master this needs to be ON by default, that's all. Differential Revision: https://developer.blender.org/D8589
2020-06-23Preferences: New experimental settings for particle system and hairJacques Lucke
This replaces the cmake options `WITH_NEW_OBJECT_TYPES` and `WITH_NEW_SIMULATION_TYPE` with two experimental userpref settings: * `use_new_particle_system`: Enables the point cloud type and the simulation editor. * `use_new_hair_type`: Only displays the add-operator in the add menu for now. Note, in the current state you can't do anything productive with the new particle system or the new hair type. Features will be added step by step in the upcoming weeks and months. 2020-03-18Objects: add Volume object type, and prototypes for Hair and PointCloudBrecht Van Lommel
Only the volume object is exposed in the user interface. It is based on OpenVDB internally. Drawing and rendering code will follow in another commit. https://wiki.blender.org/wiki/Source/Objects/Volume https://wiki.blender.org/wiki/Reference/Release_Notes/2.83/Volumes Hair and PointCloud object types are hidden behind a WITH_NEW_OBJECT_TYPES build option. These are unfinished, and included only to make it easier to cooperate on development in the future and avoid tricky merges. https://wiki.blender.org/wiki/Source/Objects/New_Object_Types Ref T73201, T68981 Differential Revision: https://developer.blender.org/D6945

2019-04-14CMake: prepare for BLENDER_SORTED_LIBS removalCampbell Barton
No functional change, this adds LIB definition and args to cmake files. Without this it's difficult to migrate away from 'BLENDER_SORTED_LIBS' since there are many platforms/configurations that could break when changing linking order. Manually add and enable WITHOUT_SORTED_LIBS to try building without sorted libs (currently fails since all variables are empty). This check will eventually be removed. See T46725.

2013-06-19This commit tackles the "context" buttons in Properties header, which were ↵Bastien Montagne
still using "ugly" old UI code. It removes buttons_header.c file, adds a (small) space_properties.py one, with a PROPERTIES_HT_header class, which simply uses the RNA enum to draw the context buttons. It also fixes that enum, btw, it always featured all contexts, which means you could (try to!) set through RNA invalid contexts... Thanks to brecht and dingto for the reviews.

WITH_INTERNATIONAL everywhere TIP_/IFACE_ macros are used (else, we get non-international, dummy NOP macros instead!). Also fixed in main CMakeList file, when no addon dir found, we want to disable WITH_PYTHON (I guess, certainly not WITH_INTERNATIONAL ;) ).
2011-11-08Texturing: texture and 3d view draw type changes, these should only have anyBrecht Van Lommel
effect for a render engine using new shading nodes. In short: * No longer uses images assigned to faces in the uv layer, rather the active image texture node is what is edited/painted/drawn. * Textured draw type now shows the active image texture node, with solid lighting. * Material draw mode shows GLSL shader of a simplified material node tree, using solid lighting. * Textures for modifiers, brushes, etc, are now available from a dropdown in the texture tab in the properties editor. These do not use new shading nodes yet. http://wiki.blender.org/index.php/Dev:2.6/Source/Render/TextureWorkflow

2010-11-29include headers in cmake source, added a script to check for consistency, ↵Campbell Barton
reporting missing headers & C files. this is important so IDE's using CMake integration always get blender headers. - QtCreator & MSVC for eg, probably others too.
2010-10-23use explicit file paths for CMake rather then globing, This is recommended ↵Campbell Barton
by cmake devs. globbing vs explicit is discussed here. http://www.cmake.org/pipermail/cmake/2008-December/025694.html Practical implications are: - developers need to keep CMakeLists.txt files up to date. - Users wont get strange linking errors if they build after a file is added, since CMake detects CMakeLists.txt is modified and automatically reconfigure.
