2012-03-04Many i18n fixings, based on [#30428] [2.62] Translation Issues.Bastien Montagne
In fact, most "UI special cases" are not well translated, currently. :/ This affects especially the "Properties" panels. This commit should address problems in Graph editors, and 3D View (but probably not yet all of them). Yet it already adds more than 100 new messages (and fixes translated drawing of more). Also done some style edits…

2011-11-232.6 UI code:Thomas Dinges
* Get rid of subrow/subcol variable names in the C UI code as well, use sub instead. This is shorter and sufficient. * Minor layout alignment fixes. * Greying out in NLA editor was doing nothing for "strip_time" property.
2011-10-21Cleaning i18n code.Bastien Montagne
Previous state: Right now, there are "memories" of the "old" (less than a month!) translation way: * A few remaining calls to BLF_gettext() (only UI_translate_do_iface and UI_translate_do_tooltip should be used). * The _() macro still also calls BLF_gettext()! New state: Here are the changes made by the patch: * Removing the no more needed _() macro. * Removing most N_() and _() calls, only keeping the few needed ones (i.e. strings that are in no other way findable by xgettext and/or update_msg script). * Defining in UI_interface.h IFACE_() and TIP_() macros (resp. for UI_translate_do_iface and UI_translate_do_tooltip). * Replacing all calls to BLF_gettext by relevant IFACE_ or TIP_ one. * Replacing all calls to UI_translate_do_iface by IFACE_. * Replacing all calls to UI_translate_do_tooltip by TIP_. All this somewhat clarifies and simplifies the code. On the bf-translations scripts side, this only implies adding IFACE_ and TIP_ as detection markers for xgettext. It also allows to reduce POTFILES.in quite notably (only 20 files remaining in it). 2011-09-15Fixing issues with i18n stuff:Sergey Sharybin
- Make gettext stuff draw-time. so switching between languages can happens without restart now. - Added option to translate visible interface (menus, buttons, labels) and tooltips. Now it's possible to have english UI and localized tooltips. - Clean-up sources, do not use gettext stuff for things which can be collected with RNA. - Fix issues with windows 64bit and ru_RU locale on my desktop (it was codepage issue). - Added operator "Get Messages" which generates new text block with with all strings collected from RNA. - Changed script for updating blender.pot so now it appends messages collected from rna to automatically gathered messages. To update .pot you have to re-generate messages.txt using "Get Messages" operator and then run update_pot script. - Clean up old translation stuff which wasn't used and most probably wouldn't be used. - Return back "International Fonts" option, so if it's disabled, no gettext lookups happens on draw. - Merged read_homefile function back. No need in splitting it. TODO: - Custom fonts and font size. Current font isn't nice at least for russian locale, it's difficult to read it. - Put references to messages.txt so gettext can merge translation when name/description of some property changes.

2011-08-06Graph Editor "Active Keyframe" settingsJoshua Leung
This commit makes some tweaks to the way that the "active keyframe" settings in the Properties region in the Graph Editor work (for the better, hopefully). Basically, the problem was that previously, these were clunky and non- intuitive to use, since they were just directly displaying the RNA properties for those keyframes for editing purposes. But due to limitations of RNA (i.e. from a RNA pointer to a keyframe, you couldn't see which F-Curve you came from), several things were impossible, notably: 1) Doing proper updates, including validating that the handles are in a valid state - that requires access to the F-Curve to provide to the F-Curve-based curve validity checking functions 2) Having the values of the keyframes display in whatever unit that the property the F-Curve affects displays as - for this, you once again need to know the F-Curve in order to resolve the property that it affects; also the fact that only a single unit could be set for RNA properties further limited things This commit basically gets around these problems by moving away from a layout-engine based approach to one where we attach custom update callbacks and also override the units of the y-co widgets when creating the widgets for these, thus allowing the buttons to work in the ways that animators expect.

2011-06-14Bugfix: Distance DVar doesn't work with new Local SpaceJoshua Leung
Fixed references in UI to the old property, and adapted the backend code to work for the new options too.
2011-06-13Transformation Channel Driver Variables - "Proper Localspace"Joshua Leung
By popular demand, the "Transformation Channel" driver variable type now has a "local space" transform space option which uses the same magic that constraints use for defining local-space. This is what many bug reporters and feature requesters have moaned about for a while now, so after reviewing several of the bug reports which lead to the current situation, here is what has been much-wanted for so long! In order to implement this, I've: - renamed the old "Local Space" option here to "Transformation Space", in order to prevent old rigs breaking. This has also been kept, as it is useful for #21384 (though perhaps with this new option it isn't needed anymore) - reviewed my fix for #20870 (IIRC, a Durian-era bug), which related to the non-uniqueness of matrix->euler decomposition

2010-12-28- Silencing some gcc warnings (yay! I can finally use this setupJoshua Leung
again) - Graph Editor "Active Keyframe" panel now displays more descriptive error messages. In particular, hopefully this helps to alert users of the default generator modifier for Driver F-Curves - The first F-Modifier added to a list is now set to be active one for that list.
2010-12-28Drivers Code Cleanups and UI Tweaks:Joshua Leung
- Adding drivers from the UI (not from py-scripts though) will now automatically add a "Transform Channel" driver variable to the newly created drivers. This makes setting up drivers a bit more convenient for the most commonly used case. - Drivers now report their errors using the Reports system instead of writing these directly to the console. - Clarified some comments to be more insightful about the "why's" of some design decisions, and related formatting/cleanup tweaks - Reduced scope of "path" vars to just the scope they're required in - Removed some unused defines from a failed experiment in the original Keying Sets code ("templates" and "template flags") which was superseeded by the more flexible + nicer "Builtin KeyingSets"
2010-12-23use ICON_NULL define rather then 0, makes UI calls less confusing. (no ↵Campbell Barton

2010-09-07Graph Editor tweaks:Joshua Leung
Buttons for editing RNA paths/array index for F-Curves that aren't working are now actually functional. This means that when invalid paths are present, they can be manually fixed up.
2010-08-18utility function for updating animation system values when RNA changes.Campbell Barton
- any numnber of attributes are supported for renaming, eg: modifiers["Foo.Bar"].prop.bar - the path is resolved in blender so each attribute is type checked against the naming list. - inherited properties are supported by recursively checking parent classes names aganst the name list. - fcurves and drivers are currently supported.

2010-05-20Durian Request: Panel for editing Keyframe values numericallyJoshua Leung
This panel allows editing of the coordinates of the 'first selected keyframe' on the Active F-Curve. That is, if you've got keyframes A (5), B (7), and C (12), and B & C are both selected, then the 'active keyframe' will be B. While I still think it's more efficient to use the cursor for batch-setting a bunch of keyframes, there are currently problems using that for sub-frame placement on the x-axis. Notes: - There is none of the averaging crap from before, where no accurate value could ever be set. - Take care when setting the values of the handles, since getting correct F-Curve recalc flushing working via the RNA stuff is VERY TRICKY, and has been left out for now to get something workable. I recommend setting the values numerically, then grabbing these keyframes and immediately cancelling, to get these updates done.

2010-03-23rna/py-api fix.Brecht Van Lommel
C functions and python used different argument order, this relied on mapping non-keyword arguments to 'REQUIRED' arguments but meant that you could not have an optional, non-keyword argument. next commit will make order of arguments consistant (currently only changed order that rna wrapped).
