2014-04-28NLA Editor: Make Single User for NLA StripsJoshua Leung
This operator is used to make sure that if/when you have multiple strips using the same action, if you select these and run this operator, each strip will be given its own copy of the action. This is useful if you decide later that you want to start using an existing action as a base. NOTE: This does not recursively go inside meta's, so care is still advised in that case.
2014-04-28NLA Editor: Duplicate/Duplicate LinkedJoshua Leung
This commit changes the default strip duplication behaviour (Shift-D) so that it will create a copy of whatever action it uses. Previously, it was very hard, if not impossible in some cases to create a new copy of an action to start working on in the NLA. If you want the old behaviour, you'll need to use ALt-D (Linked Duplicates). (Note: Although the new Shift-D may not be so optimal in all cases, I've decided to go with this version since it aligns better with the way this works for objects. Doing the opposite for NLA would just have added to the confusion)

2013-03-14NLA Editor: Operator to add AnimData to selected objects so that they can appearJoshua Leung
This commit introduces an operator in the Add menu - this operator ensures that all selected objects have AnimData attached to them (even if they don't have any actions/drivers yet). By doing this, these objects can at least appear in the NLA Editor, which will allow them to have strips added to them in future without having to create throwaway actions first (NOTE: there's still some stuff coming to allow that). Also, renamed NLA_OT_delete_tracks -> NLA_OT_tracks_delete

2011-08-07Sound clip NLA Strips for NexyonJoshua Leung
These are basically just for specifying when a speaker should fire off it's soundclip, and as such, many NLA operations are irrelevant for it. They can only be specified on object-level for speaker objects. I've still got some UI tweaks I'll need to work on in order for these to be able to be added even when the speaker doesn't have any NLA tracks yet. (EDIT: while typing this, I had an idea for how to do this, but that'll be for next commit). In the mean time, you'll need to add a single keyframe for the object, snowflake that action and delete the NLA strip before you can start editing.

2011-06-01Usability Tweak [#27469]Joshua Leung
Adding/Rename markers (M/Ctrl-M) were restricted to only being available when the mouse was hovering just over the time scroller at the bottom of animation editors, as otherwise we'd get nasty keymap conflicts where markers keymap would block all the primary function keymaps. However, in the case of Adding/Renaming markers, there are no other keys which currently conflict with these in such cases. Hence, it is fine to let these ones be able to be run from anywhere within the animation editors, which should make it easier to add markers for lipsyncing purposes again for example.

2011-01-19NLA Editor: Swap Strips (Alt-F) and BugfixesJoshua Leung
1) Added a new operator to swap the order of strips within a track (Alt-F). This makes it possible to select two strips (or more precisely, two islands of consecutive + selected strips) in a single track and change the order in which the appear without needing a extra tracks to perform the move through. As usual, the non-overlapping rules apply, so there may be some cases where swapping in this way is not possible without adjusting the intermediate strips first manually. Otherwise, everything just gets too tricky to manage deciding what adjustments should be done to the obstructing strips to make a fit. 2) Freeing meta-strips didn't free their local data properly (i.e. modifiers they may have had). 3) Adding strips to tracks, where the endframes for the strips overlapped would cause problems with incorrect ordering of strips. I still need to double-check whether evaluation works ok in this case...
2010-11-07Animation Editors: Channel ReorderingJoshua Leung
This commit restores the ability to reorder channels in the animation editors (DopeSheet/Action/etc., Graph/Drivers, NLA). The hotkeys for this are: - Shift-PageUp = Move Up - Shift-PageDown = Move Down - Ctrl-Shift-PageUp = Move to Top of List - Ctrl-Shift-PageDown = Move to Bottom of List Do note that only animation data can get reordered using this. So, do not expect to be able to change the object order (that is actually taken from the order that Blender actually evaluates them per update/frame). --- In the process, I've fixed a couple of other bugs: * Removed 'optimisation step' check in anim_filter.c for dopesheet with no filtering options modified, since this meant that the ANIMFILTER_ANIMDATA data filter was not getting processed (and potentially there were other maintenance problems with that). * Made NLA Editor's channel list not totally duplicate the basic Animation Channels keymap. Instead, the "NLA Channels" keymap now only defines the parts that are different, and this then gets specified before the standard one so that these different parts will override the standard ones. * Attempted to fix BorderSelect on NLA Channels list. Still not totally working correctly yet though. * Moved "Euler Discontinuity" menu entry from "Channels" to "Keys". It really belongs in the latter, since it affects the keyframe values, rather than some aspect of the channel (i.e. ordering of channels or how they're displayed)

2010-03-18F-Modifier Goodies (as requested by @ndy):Joshua Leung
* Copy/Paste operators for F-Modifiers Available in Graph and NLA Editors. Use the Copy/Paste buttons beside the 'Add Modifier' buttons. Copy copies all the modifiers of the ACTIVE F-Curve or Strip depending on the editor. Paste pastes modifiers from the buffer to all the selected F-Curves or Strips, adding the new modifiers to the ends of each list. * 'Stepped Interpolation' F-Modifier This modifier holds each interpolated value from the F-Curve for several frames without changing the timing. This allows to preview motions 'on-twos' for example without altering the timing, or having to go through setting heaps of keyframes. In this case, Andy wanted to use this for CG <-> StopMo.

2010-01-24NLA Editor: Sync Action Extents with Referenced RangeJoshua Leung
This operator can be accessed from the "Action Clip" panel, and is used to include keyframes that have been added to a strip already in the NLA. Although this is not a recommended workflow, having this ability is useful at times.

* Moved 'change shortcut' (previously directly RMB on menu items) to a context-menu item, and added Remove Shortcut and Add Shortcut. This is all available now in a RMB context menu for operator buttons and menu entries. * Renamed a bunch of key maps to be consistent with UI names, and human-readable. Since these key map names are now being directly used in the UI for people to find things, they should be understandable and in plain language. This renaming may break some older saved key map setups - though previously saved .b25.blends should convert over ok. Exported .py files may need some find/replacing - in this commit check the changes in resources.c to see what's changed.

2009-10-08Key ConfigurationBrecht Van Lommel
Keymaps are now saveable and configurable from the user preferences, note that editing one item in a keymap means the whole keymap is now defined by the user and will not be updated by Blender, an option for syncing might be added later. The outliner interface is still there, but I will probably remove it. There's actually 3 levels now: * Default builtin key configuration. * Key configuration loaded from .py file, for configs like Blender 2.4x or other 3D applications. * Keymaps edited by the user and saved in .B.blend. These can be saved to .py files as well to make creating distributable configurations easier. Also, user preferences sections were reorganized a bit, now there is: Interface, Editing, Input, Files and System. Implementation notes: * wmKeyConfig was added which represents a key configuration containing keymaps. * wmKeymapItem was renamed to wmKeyMapItem for consistency with wmKeyMap. * Modal maps are not wrapped yet. * User preferences DNA file reading did not support newdataadr() yet, added this now for reading keymaps. * Key configuration related settings are now RNA wrapped. * is_property_set and is_property_hidden python methods were added.
2009-09-18Keymaps now have a poll() function, rather than adding/removingBrecht Van Lommel
their handlers based on notifiers, which is simpler and more reliable. This fixes for example editmode or uv edit keymaps not working when creating a new 3dview or image space.

2009-07-09NLA SoC: Toggle muting operator - HKEYJoshua Leung
This operator provides a quick way of toggling the muted-status of several strips at the same time.
2009-07-06NLA SoC: More work on Meta-Strips Joshua Leung
* Added several API functions for Meta-Strips editing. One of these (flush transform) still needs a few tweaks before it does its job well enough for all cases. * Meta strips are now drawn with a purple-ish colour. The start/end points of the strips they encompass are shown with lines along the length of the strips, with lines starting from the top indicating start-points and lines starting from the bottom indicating end-points. * Meta strips can be made (i.e. strips can be assigned to meta-strips) by selecting some strips and pressing Shift-G. Meta strips can be removed by selecting some meta-strips and pressing Alt-G. * Strips can now be 'snapped' to start from: the current frame, the nearest frame, the nearest second, or the nearest marker; using the Shift-S hotkey. 'Islands' of adjacent selected strips occurring in the same track are moved together as a single strip so that the start-point of the first strip is on the sepcified time, but all the relative lengths of strips stay the same. Internally, temporary meta-strips are created to facilitate this.
2009-07-02NLA SoC: F-Modifiers working on NLA Strips Joshua Leung
* Using the Ctrl-Shift-M hotkey, F-Modifiers can be added to all the selected strips. * F-Modifiers can also be added/tweaked from the NLA N-Key properties. The UI now uses the same code as for the graph editor ones. The UI drawing here is currently messed up from the NLA side, since it seems combining normal layout stuff and old-style uiBlocks doesn't seem to work too well (BUT! the buttons are at least functional). Next up, I'll need to recode the buttons panel for the Graph Editor so that all of the drawing can be migrated over to use the new layout engine.

2009-06-27NLA SoC: Move Strips Up/Down Operators Joshua Leung
These operators may be temporary only, depending on if a workable solution via transform is found. * PageUp moves strips into the track above if there's space * PageDown moves strips into the track below if there's space * Also fixed a button-alignment bug in the DopeSheet header
2009-06-24NLA SoC: Scale Operators - Clear (Alt-S) and Apply (Ctrl-A)Joshua Leung
These two operators work only on Action-Clip strips. * Clear (Alt-S) resets the scale of selected strips to 1.0 * Apply (Ctrl-A) applies the scale of the selected strips to their referenced Actions. If this referenced Action is also used by several other strips, a copy of the Action is made, and the scaling is applied to that Action instead.
2009-06-24NLA SoC: Delete Tracks Operator (XKEY / DELKEY) over the channel list Joshua Leung
This deletes all the strips in the relevant (selected) tracks too.
