channels
NLA Track drawing has now been ported over to use the UI widgets
like the rest of the anim channels do in the DopeSheet and Graph
Editors. The main benefit of this for users is that these buttons
will now show tooltips when you hover over them. Hopefully this
will help make the "solo" buttons more discoverable.
I've decided to postpone porting the "Action Line" channels to the
widget system for now, since there are quite a few more issues there
which need quite a bit more time to work through.

Frame change hotkeys now work in the following places:
1) Outliner - Main region
2) Action/NLA Editors - Channels Region
3) Info View - Reports region
Other places identified by the bugreport (but which I've decided to leave
alone):
- Text Editor (when no file open) - The way the keymaps work here means that
this can't be done without affecting normal text editing
- File Browser - What's the point of changing frames when you're about to
open/save the file?
- User Prefs - Is there any real point here either? Also, this is usually shown
in a separate window.

Area and region listener callbacks now get the screen and area pointers passed, so

tracks
As a convenience feature for those who are loading in action libraries and using
these to quickly block out things in the NLA editor, it is now possible to add
strips to AnimData blocks without first manually creating empty tracks to add
these strips to. Simply ensure that such empty AnimData blocks are selected
(Hint: click on the action line of the affected AnimData block to do so), and
try to add a strip normally.

NLA editor: the channel list and the main area were not perfectly aligned, and could
jump a bit around. Easy fix.
|
|
Originally I was thinking of not restoring this functionality (see report for
further details). However, upon rechecking the code, it seems that there was
actually a define set up for this already, but which wasn't actually hooked up
yet. So, this commit basically exposes this option ("Sync Length") which ensures
that when exiting tweak mode on a NLA Strip, that strip instance (and not other
users of the same action) will be updated to include the newly added keyframes.
This option is not enabled by default, and shouldn't really be needed in most
("intended") workflows.

and RNA for it independent of the build flag for enabling Freestyle. Suggested
by Sergey Sharybin through a code review of the branch.
* Many #ifdef WITH_FREESTYLE blocks were removed to always have Freestyle-specific
DNA file specification and RNA for it built in Blender. This will allow Freestyle
setting survive even when a non-Freestyle build is used for loading and saving
files. It is noted that operations are still conditionally built through #ifdef
WITH_FREESTYLE blocks.
* To this end, new blenkernel files BKE_freestyle.h and intern/freestyle.c have
been added. All API functions in FRS_freestyle_config.h as well as some of those
in FRS_freestyle.h were moved to the new files. Now the relocated API functions
have BKE_ prefix instead of FRS_.

This commit introduces an operator in the Add menu - this operator ensures that
all selected objects have AnimData attached to them (even if they don't have any
actions/drivers yet). By doing this, these objects can at least appear in the
NLA Editor, which will allow them to have strips added to them in future without
having to create throwaway actions first (NOTE: there's still some stuff coming
to allow that).
Also, renamed NLA_OT_delete_tracks -> NLA_OT_tracks_delete
|
|
1) It made no sense to show this as the last operator which was used, since
these can only be used from the anim editors (and not the 3D View where this
panel appears most of the time)
2) Mouse select operators in other places didn't do this
3) There aren't really any editable parameters for this operator anyway
4) It's highly dependent on valid mouse coordinates as input.
Apart from that, undo still works fine, so no need to really keep this here.

* Not all supported datatypes would show up in the NLA Properties Region when
selected
* Clicking on the name part of the "Active Action" tracks now selects the
AnimData block that action is attached to
|
|
Somewhere along the line, this functionality broke, even though the code to
handle these settings was still in place for many of these. The main implication
of this fix is that it should now be possible to select a particular AnimData
block, which makes it possible to do things such as changing the action
associated with that AnimData block (i.e. via the "Animation Data" panel in the
NLA Editor), as well as other operations which I've had on the todolist for a
while. Stay tuned!

Nice formatted version (pictures soon):
http://wiki.blender.org/index.php/Dev:Ref/Release_Notes/2.66/Usability
Short list of main changes:
- Transparent region option (over main region), added code to blend in/out such panels.
- Min size window now 640 x 480
- Fixed DPI for ui - lots of cleanup and changes everywhere. Icon image need correct size still, layer-in-use icon needs remake.
- Macbook retina support, use command line --no-native-pixels to disable it
- Timeline Marker label was drawing wrong
- Trackpad and magic mouse: supports zoom (hold ctrl)
- Fix for splash position: removed ghost function and made window size update after creation immediate
- Fast undo buffer save now adds UI as well. Could be checked for regular file save even...
Quit.blend and temp file saving use this now.
- Dixed filename in window on reading quit.blend or temp saves, and they now add a warning in window title: "(Recovered)"
- New Userpref option "Keep Session" - this always saves quit.blend, and loads on start.
This allows keeping UI and data without actual saves, until you actually save.
When you load startup.blend and quit, it recognises the quit.blend as a startup (no file name in header)
- Added 3D view copy/paste buffers (selected objects). Shortcuts ctrl-c, ctrl-v (OSX, cmd-c, cmd-v).
Coded partial file saving for it. Could be used for other purposes. Todo: use OS clipboards.
- User preferences (themes, keymaps, user settings) now can be saved as a separate file.
Old option is called "Save Startup File" the new one "Save User Settings".
To visualise this difference, the 'save startup file' button has been removed from user preferences window. That option is available as CTRL+U and in File menu still.
- OSX: fixed bug that stopped giving mouse events outside window.
This also fixes "Continuous Grab" for OSX. (error since 2009)
