The Asset Browser will be disabled and not available for the 2.92 release. In
alpha/beta builds, there will be an "Asset Browser" option under Preferences >
Experimental, if the developer extras are enabled.
Note that this also disables related UI elements (e.g. "Mark Asset" buttons,
Preferences settings for asset libraries, etc.).
The code is still in master of course, development and testing will continue
there. But there simply needs to be too much polishing and fixing before the
2.92 release, plus there are some design decisions to be reevaluated.

Approximately 195 changes of capitalization to conform to MLA title style.
UI labels and property names should use MLA title case, while descriptions
should be capitalized like regular prose, generally with only the start of
a sentence capitalized.

Functions also have appropriate category included in name.

Some weird proxies apparently can have a local collection instancing...
Not sure this is even really valid for proxies, but in any case we
cannot override that, just detect and properly cancel the operation
then.
Should be backported to 2.91.1 should we do it.

This makes it possible to turn data-blocks into assets and back into normal
data-blocks. A core design decision made for the asset system is that not every
data-block should be an asset, because not every data-block is made for reuse.
Users have to explicitly mark data-blocks as assets.
Exposes "Mark Asset" and "Clear Asset" in Outliner context menus (currently ID
Data submenu) and button context menus. We are still not too happy with the
names, they may change.
This uses the new context members to pass data-blocks to operators, added in
af008f553293 and 0c1d4769235c.

One can now use 'make local' from the Outliner or the 3DView to also
fully localize overrides of linked data.

Access to this structure will be needed in BKE's armature code.

In the end the process is surpringly simple, we only need to manually
convert the proxy itself into an override (which is trivial), and then
run common code with the default 'make override' operation.
Fix T81059: Add operator to convert proxies to library overrides.

Following the most widely used convention for including todo's in

A parameter was added during development, but it was not needed and was

Add an option to only draw icons for operator_enum menus. This is used
for drawing inline icon buttons in the outliner context menu for
collection color tagging.

When opening the outliner context menu with multiple data types
selected, the menu did not show operators related to the target of the
cursor. For example, if a modifier and object are selected, a right
click on the modifier does not show the modifier options, rather it
shows the object context menu.
Now the data type of the right-click element is used to determine the
context menu to draw. For this to work properly the active element is
now set on right click.

they only show in edit mode, and they don't work. This removes the
broken entries and related code.

We can avoid the rather expensive outliner tree rebuilds and only redraw
if nothing but the selection or active item changes. This should give a
bit of speedup for heavy scenes.
For this to work I had to correct a few notifiers, some were only
sending selection/active change notifiers that actually did things like
adding objects. I also added a more precise notifier type for when the
active collection changes. At the notifier subtype/action level we're
not even close to running out of bits, so this should be fine.
Also had to correct a wrong notifier check (was using `&` rather than
`==`).

This will re-link all usages of a library override data-block
(including all of its override dependencies) to its reference linked
IDs, and delete those liboverrides.
As usual, it is available in the ID sub-menu of the outliner context
right-click menu.

Available from the usual ID submenu in the Outliner context menu.
The goal of this operator is to re-create the override from the linked
data, while preserving existing defined overrides.
This allows to update local opverrides when relations between datablocks
are changed in source library linked data.

No functional changes. The outliner selection operators shared many
different functions for selection, activation, mode toggling, and other
actions, but the code paths were not always clear, making any changes
difficult.
This cleans up the code and uses outliner_item_select() as the base
function for selection, activation, mode toggling between the different
selection operators. It also prepares for future features and fixes.

This resolves T73673 by allowing delete hierarchy in all outliner view
modes. It also unifies the collection and object hierarchy delete into a
single operator like in rBae98a033c856. This makes it easier to delete
all selected collection and object hierarchies at once.
This also removes the old object delete hierarchy code in favor of the
batch delete code which has been default for over a year.

Bug was actually in outliner code, paste operator would not generate any
undo step...
This was not correct ever, but with new undo code this has become a
critical issue, it cannot survive a situation where current main data
has been changed without a proper undo push.
This illustrates again how much of a catastrophic mess the 'tools'
callbacks of the outliner are currently, it has already caused us quiet
some pain in the past, and will keep doing so until this is fully
sanitized am afraid.
Would strongly suggest getting rid of thosw nasty mix of custom
callbacks requiring manual undo pushes, I do not see the added value of
this compared to regular menus calling regular operators. It only adds
confusion and extra code for nothing...
|
|
Callback naming didn't always make it clear which function updated
the search contents and the function used to execute the action.
