This patch include changes: - Thicker and clearer selection indication - Slimmer handles - More transparent muted strips - Trim frame number is drawn inside the strip - Strip text is drawn in upper part of strip - Color strips now have specific color, with chosen color drawn under strip text - Transition strip will use color of input strips showing direction of transition - Selecting effect strip will highlight input strips - Selecting multicam strips will highlight target channel - Missing media state is now indicated by a red line drawn on the top part of the strip - A checkerboard pattern is now drawn on the outsides of the meta range - Hold still regions are now always drawn if existent, with a darker shade of the strip’s background color Author: Alessio Monti di Sopra <a.monti> Reviewed By: ISS Differential Revision: https://developer.blender.org/D6883
2020-01-23CMake: Refactor external dependencies handlingSergey Sharybin
This is a more correct fix to the issue Brecht was fixing in D6600. While the fix in that patch worked fine for linking it broke ASAN runtime under some circumstances. For example, `make full debug developer` would compile, but trying to start blender will cause assert failure in ASAN (related on check that ASAN is not running already). Top-level idea: leave it to CMake to keep track of dependency graph. The root of the issue comes to the fact that target like "blender" is configured to use a lot of static libraries coming from Blender sources and to use external static libraries. There is nothing which ensures order between blender's and external libraries. Only order of blender libraries is guaranteed. It was possible that due to a cycle or other circumstances some of blender libraries would have been passed to linker after libraries it uses, causing linker errors. For example, this order will likely fail: libbf_blenfont.a libfreetype6.a libbf_blenfont.a This change makes it so blender libraries are explicitly provided their dependencies to an external libraries, which allows CMake to ensure they are always linked against them. General rule here: if bf_foo depends on an external library it is to be provided to LIBS for bf_foo. For example, if bf_blenkernel depends on opensubdiv then LIBS in blenkernel's CMakeLists.txt is to include OPENSUBDIB_LIBRARIES. The change is made based on searching for used include folders such as OPENSUBDIV_INCLUDE_DIRS and adding corresponding libraries to LIBS ion that CMakeLists.txt. Transitive dependencies are not simplified by this approach, but I am not aware of any downside of this: CMake should be smart enough to simplify them on its side. And even if not, this shouldn't affect linking time. Benefit of not relying on transitive dependencies is that build system is more robust towards future changes. For example, if bf_intern_opensubiv is no longer depends on OPENSUBDIV_LIBRARIES and all such code is moved to bf_blenkernel this will not break linking. The not-so-trivial part is change to blender_add_lib (and its version in Cycles). The complexity is caused by libraries being provided as a single list argument which doesn't allow to use different release and debug libraries on Windows. The idea is: - Have every library prefixed as "optimized" or "debug" if separation is needed (non-prefixed libraries will be considered "generic"). - Loop through libraries passed to function and do simple parsing which will look for "optimized" and "debug" words and specify following library to corresponding category. This isn't something particularly great. Alternative would be to use target_link_libraries() directly, which sounds like more code but which is more explicit and allows to have more flexibility and control comparing to wrapper approach. Tested the following configurations on Linux, macOS and Windows: - make full debug developer - make full release developer - make lite debug developer - make lite release developer NOTE: Linux libraries needs to be compiled with D6641 applied, otherwise, depending on configuration, it's possible to run into duplicated zlib symbols error. 2019-06-05Sound: Port to a copy-on-write conceptSergey Sharybin
This change makes it so sound handles are created for evaluated scene, sequencer and speakers. This allows to have properly evaluated animation on them. For the viewport playback sound uses regular dependency graph. For the final render sound uses dependency graph created for render pipeline, which now also contains sequencer and sound datablocks. All the direct sound update calls are replaced with corresponding dependency graph recalc tag.
2019-05-07Sound: Revert all the recent changes to soundSergey Sharybin
This happened to be a bigger rabbit hole to hell than it originally seemed, and there are higher priority design tasks to be handled (at this point high priority design task is more important than high priority bug fix). After talking to Brecht the decision was made to revert to the known isolated issue, which will allow everyone in the studio work same as prior to last Friday. The remaining bits will be worked on after all the design tasks are out of the way. Tested to work on Linux and macOS. This will be enabled once all platforms are verified. See D4684
2019-04-14CMake: prepare for BLENDER_SORTED_LIBS removalCampbell Barton
No functional change, this adds LIB definition and args to cmake files. Without this it's difficult to migrate away from 'BLENDER_SORTED_LIBS' since there are many platforms/configurations that could break when changing linking order. Manually add and enable WITHOUT_SORTED_LIBS to try building without sorted libs (currently fails since all variables are empty). This check will eventually be removed. See T46725.

2017-08-18Audaspace: Moving audaspace 1.3 into extern.Jörg Müller
Deleting the old internal audaspace. Major changes from there are: - The whole library was refactored to use C++11. - Many stability and performance improvements. - Major Python API refactor: - Most requested: Play self generated sounds using numpy arrays. - For games: Sound list, random sounds and dynamic music. - Writing sounds to files. - Sequencing API. - Opening sound devices, eg. Jack. - Ability to choose different OpenAL devices in the user settings.
2016-05-24Sequencer's histogram view: OMP -> BLI_task.Bastien Montagne
New code using loop/finalize model is about 45% faster (from 4.4ms tp 2.4ms per frame, overall playback of single shot in sequencer in this preview mode goes from 40 to 45fps).
2015-08-18Refactor translation code out of blenfontCampbell Barton
- Add blentranslation `BLT_*` module. - moved & split `BLF_translation.h` into (`BLT_translation.h`, `BLT_lang.h`). - moved `BLF_*_unifont` functions from `blf_translation.c` to new source file `blf_font_i18n.c`.
2015-07-28Audaspace: fixing problems for the merge to master suggested by Campbell and ↵Jörg Müller
Sergey. - rename WITH_EXTERNAL_AUDASPACE to WITH_SYSTEM_AUDASPACE. - rename C/PYAUDASPACE to AUDASPACE_C/PY - simplifying cmake defines and includes. - fixing include paths and enabling WITH_SYSTEM_AUDASPACE for windows. - fixing scons building. - other minor build system fixes.
2015-07-28Audaspace: use standalone library.Jörg Müller
- Added the cmake configuration option WITH_EXTERNAL_AUDASPACE. - Fixes to build without standalone library as well.
2014-11-24Politically correct terrible consequencer changesAntony Riakiotakis
This patch includes the work done in the terrible consequencer branch that hasn't been merged to master minus a few controversial and WIP stuff, like strip parenting, new sequence data structs and cuddly widgets. What is included: * Strip extensions only when slipping. It can very easily be made an option but with a few strips with overlapping durations it makes view too crowded and difficult to make out. * Threaded waveform loading + code that restores waveforms on undo (not used though, since sound_load recreates everything. There's a patch for review D876) * Toggle to enable backdrop in the strip sequence editor * Toggle to easily turn on/off waveform display * Snapping during transform on sequence boundaries. Snapping to start or end of selection depends on position of mouse when invoking the operator * Snapping of timeline indicator in sequencer to strip boundaries. To use just press and hold ctrl while dragging. Reviewers: campbellbarton Differential Revision: https://developer.blender.org/D904

2012-08-23Sequencer: display color sample information when mouse is holded downSergey Sharybin
Behaves in exactly the same way as image editor's color sampling. Would be nice to display color managed color too, but that's for tomato branch.
2012-08-19Sequencer: per-sequence modifier stack for color gradingSergey Sharybin
This implements basic color grading modifiers in sequencer, supporting color balance, RGB curves and HUE corrections. Implementation is close to object modifiers, some details are there: http://wiki.blender.org/index.php/User:Nazg-gul/SequencerModifiers Modifiers supports multi-threaded calculation, masks and instant parameter changes. Also added cache for pre-processed image buffers for current frame, so changing sequence properties does not require rendering of original sequence (like rendering scene, loading file from disk and so)

2010-11-29include headers in cmake source, added a script to check for consistency, ↵Campbell Barton
reporting missing headers & C files. this is important so IDE's using CMake integration always get blender headers. - QtCreator & MSVC for eg, probably others too.
2010-10-23use explicit file paths for CMake rather then globing, This is recommended ↵Campbell Barton
by cmake devs. globbing vs explicit is discussed here. http://www.cmake.org/pipermail/cmake/2008-December/025694.html Practical implications are: - developers need to keep CMakeLists.txt files up to date. - Users wont get strange linking errors if they build after a file is added, since CMake detects CMakeLists.txt is modified and automatically reconfigure.
