2022-02-25Cleanup: use flags for wmEvent modifier keysCampbell Barton
Using flags makes checking multiple modifiers at once more convenient and avoids macros/functions such as IS_EVENT_MOD & WM_event_modifier_flag which have been removed. It also simplifies checking if modifier keys have changed.
2022-02-11File headers: SPDX License migrationCampbell Barton
Use a shorter/simpler license convention, stops the header taking so much space. Follow the SPDX license specification: https://spdx.org/licenses - C/C++/objc/objc++ - Python - Shell Scripts - CMake, GNUmakefile While most of the source tree has been included - `./extern/` was left out. - `./intern/cycles` & `./intern/atomic` are also excluded because they use different header conventions. doc/license/SPDX-license-identifiers.txt has been added to list SPDX all used identifiers. See P2788 for the script that automated these edits. Reviewed By: brecht, mont29, sergey Ref D14069
2021-11-11Fix T92954: Loop Cut Tool preview line visible during operationCampbell Barton
Apply a local-workaround instead of adding support for this use-case since pre-selection isn't the intended purpose of gizmos. This also resolves a glitch where poly-build and loop cut would briefly show loop-cut or poly-build pre-selection after transforming. See gizmo_preselect_poll_for_draw note for more details.
2021-06-01GPU: add 2D projection functionCampbell Barton
When projecting into screen space Z value isn't always needed. Add 2D projection functions, renaming them to avoid accidents happening again. - Add GPU_matrix_project_2fv - Add ED_view3d_project_v2 - Rename ED_view3d_project to ED_view3d_project_v3 - Use the 2D versions of these functions when the Z value isn't used.

2020-11-05Spelling: Predefined, Look Up, No OneHarley Acheson

2020-10-14Fix T81511: Loop-cut overlay doesn't follow deformed cageCampbell Barton
With constructive + deform modifiers, loop-cut visualization wasn't following the displayed mesh. This now gets the coordinates from the cage when available.

2020-03-06Cleanup: Rename ARegion variables from ar to regionJulian Eisel
The old convention was easy to confuse with ScrArea. Part of https://developer.blender.org/T74432. This is mostly a batch rename with some manual fixing. Only single word variable names are changed, no prefixed/suffixed names. Brecht van Lommel and Campbell Barton both gave me a green light for this convention change. Also ran clan clang format on affected files.
2020-02-14UI: Allow gizmo-only redraw taggingJulian Eisel
NOTE: This change shouldn't have any visible effect. It's just the first (easiest) step towards decoupling gizmo redraws from viewport redraws. We currently redraw the entire region whenever a gizmo needs redrawing, which would be nice to avoid in the future, see T73198. The first step towards this would be having a separate tag for them, which is what this patch implements. The term "editor-overlays" was chosen because for the forseeable future, we'll also have to redraw non-gizmo overlays in-between drawing 3D and 2D gizmos. Namely annotations. 2019-08-27Edit Mesh: Poly build tool improvementsPablo Dobarro
This commit changes the functionality of the Poly build tool to make it more suitable for retopology tasks: - Click and drag from a boundary edge extrudes a new quad - Click and drag on vertices tweaks the position - Ctrl + click adds geometry. There is a geometry preview in the gizmo. It also can automatically convert triangles to quads. - Shift + click deletes mesh elements (faces or vertices) - Updated preselection code. Different mesh elements take priority depending on the selected action. Reviewed By: campbellbarton Differential Revision: https://developer.blender.org/D5573
2019-07-31Refactor access to dependency graphSergey Sharybin
This change ensures that operators which needs access to evaluated data first makes sure there is a dependency graph. Other accesses to the dependency graph made it more explicit about whether they just need a valid dependency graph pointer or whether they expect the graph to be already evaluated. This replaces OPTYPE_USE_EVAL_DATA which is now removed. Some general rules about usage of accessors: - Drawing is expected to happen from a fully evaluated dependency graph. There is now a function to access it, which will in the future control that dependency graph is actually evaluated. This check is not yet done because there are some things to be taken care about first: for example, post-update hooks might leave scene in a state where something is still tagged for update. - All operators which needs to access evaluated state must use CTX_data_ensure_evaluated_depsgraph(). This function replaces OPTYPE_USE_EVAL_DATA. The call is generally to be done in the very beginning of the operator, prior other logic (unless this is some comprehensive operator which might or might not need access to an evaluated state). This call is never to be used from a loop. If some utility function requires evaluated state of dependency graph the graph is to be passed as an explicit argument. This way it is clear that no evaluation happens in a loop or something like this. - All cases which needs to know dependency graph pointer, but which doesn't want to actually evaluate it can use old-style function CTX_data_depsgraph_pointer(), assuming that underlying code will ensure dependency graph is evaluated prior to accessing it. - The new functions are replacing OPTYPE_USE_EVAL_DATA, so now it is explicit and local about where dependency graph is being ensured. This commit also contains some fixes of wrong usage of evaluation functions on original objects. Ideally should be split out, but in reality with all the APIs being renamed is quite tricky. Fixes T67454: Blender crash on rapid undo and select Speculation here is that sometimes undo and selection operators are sometimes handled in the same event loop iteration, which leaves non-evaluated dependency graph. 2019-02-01Cleanup: remove redundant, invalid info from headersCampbell Barton
BF-admins agree to remove header information that isn't useful, to reduce noise. - BEGIN/END license blocks Developers should add non license comments as separate comment blocks. No need for separator text. - Contributors This is often invalid, outdated or misleading especially when splitting files. It's more useful to git-blame to find out who has developed the code. See P901 for script to perform these edits.
2018-11-25Local ViewDalai Felinto
Bring back per-viewport localview. This is based on Blender 2.79. We have a limit of 16 different local view viewports. We are using both the numpad /, as well as the regular /. Missing features: * Hack to make sure lights are always visible. * Make rendered mode with external engines to support this as well (probably just need to support this in the RNA iterators). * Support over 16 viewports by taking existing viewports out of local view. The code can use a cleanup pass in the future to unify the test to see if an object is visible (or we can use TESTBASE in more places).
2018-09-10Edit Mesh: pass Base array to picking functionsCampbell Barton
In some cases we need to use this array afterwards, so this gives control over which objects are used for picking. Also use an index argument as return argument so callers that need to know the index in the array don't need to calculate it afterwards.
2018-09-10Cleanup: use 'mesh' in preselect identifiersCampbell Barton
We may have preselection for other types later.
2018-09-10Tool System: use preselect highlight w/ poly-buildCampbell Barton
- Poly build now uses a new gizmo for pre-selection which has the same behavior as loop-cut. This replaces hack where mouse-move set the active element which was no longer working properly because of missing depsgraph updates. - Multi-object support for poly-build. - Support for deformed cage. - Fix error where changing active object wasn't properly refreshing the preselect gizmo (for loopcut too). Currently holding Alt to select non-boundary element's isn't working.

2018-08-21Tool System: loopcut preview & activate on clickCampbell Barton
The loop cut tool now works as expected for the tool-system, where hovering previews the loop and clicking activates. This uses a new gizmo type to pre-select the edge.
