2022-02-11File headers: SPDX License migrationCampbell Barton
Use a shorter/simpler license convention, stops the header taking so much space. Follow the SPDX license specification: https://spdx.org/licenses - C/C++/objc/objc++ - Python - Shell Scripts - CMake, GNUmakefile While most of the source tree has been included - `./extern/` was left out. - `./intern/cycles` & `./intern/atomic` are also excluded because they use different header conventions. doc/license/SPDX-license-identifiers.txt has been added to list SPDX all used identifiers. See P2788 for the script that automated these edits. Reviewed By: brecht, mont29, sergey Ref D14069
2022-02-04Fix assertion snapping to selected in mesh edit-modeCampbell Barton
ED_transverts_create_from_obedit expected an evaluated object. Add flag to request TX_VERT_USE_MAPLOC to be set, which avoids having to calculate this data when it's not used as well as the requirement that the input object be evaluated from the depsgraph.

2021-03-11UI: Avoid unnecessary redraws of unrelated editors on space changesJulian Eisel
When adding a notifier, `reference` data can be passed. The notifier system uses this to filter out listeners, for example if data of a scene changes, windows showing a different scene won't get the notifiers sent to their listeners. For the `NC_SPACE` notifiers, a number of places also passed the space as `reference`, but that wasn't used at all. The notifier would still be sent to all listeners in all windows (and the listeners didn't use it either). Causing some unnecessary updates (e.g. see ed2c4825d3e2344). With this commit, passing a space will make sure the notifier is only sent to that exact space. Some code seems to already have expected that to be the case. However there were some cases that passed the space as `reference` without reason, which would break with this commit (meaning they wouldn't redraw or update correctly). Corrected these so they don't pass the space anymore.

2019-07-31Refactor access to dependency graphSergey Sharybin
This change ensures that operators which needs access to evaluated data first makes sure there is a dependency graph. Other accesses to the dependency graph made it more explicit about whether they just need a valid dependency graph pointer or whether they expect the graph to be already evaluated. This replaces OPTYPE_USE_EVAL_DATA which is now removed. Some general rules about usage of accessors: - Drawing is expected to happen from a fully evaluated dependency graph. There is now a function to access it, which will in the future control that dependency graph is actually evaluated. This check is not yet done because there are some things to be taken care about first: for example, post-update hooks might leave scene in a state where something is still tagged for update. - All operators which needs to access evaluated state must use CTX_data_ensure_evaluated_depsgraph(). This function replaces OPTYPE_USE_EVAL_DATA. The call is generally to be done in the very beginning of the operator, prior other logic (unless this is some comprehensive operator which might or might not need access to an evaluated state). This call is never to be used from a loop. If some utility function requires evaluated state of dependency graph the graph is to be passed as an explicit argument. This way it is clear that no evaluation happens in a loop or something like this. - All cases which needs to know dependency graph pointer, but which doesn't want to actually evaluate it can use old-style function CTX_data_depsgraph_pointer(), assuming that underlying code will ensure dependency graph is evaluated prior to accessing it. - The new functions are replacing OPTYPE_USE_EVAL_DATA, so now it is explicit and local about where dependency graph is being ensured. This commit also contains some fixes of wrong usage of evaluation functions on original objects. Ideally should be split out, but in reality with all the APIs being renamed is quite tricky. Fixes T67454: Blender crash on rapid undo and select Speculation here is that sometimes undo and selection operators are sometimes handled in the same event loop iteration, which leaves non-evaluated dependency graph. 2019-03-08Cleanup: use plural names for Main listsCampbell Barton
Convention was not to but after discussion on 918941483f7e we agree its best to change the convention. Names now mostly follow RNA. Some exceptions: - Use 'nodetrees' instead of 'nodegroups' since the struct is called NodeTree. - Use 'gpencils' instead of 'grease_pencil' since 'gpencil' is a common abbreviation in the C code. Other exceptions: - Leave 'wm' as it's a list of one. - Leave 'ipo' as is for versioning.

2019-02-06Fix T61051: crash with multi-object mixed mode snappingPhilipp Oeser
rBec3357e03ab1 introduced multi-object snapping. Seems like this was done without mixed-mode selections in mind. So code assumed that all selected objects are actually armatures [which can fail]. In 2.7 this was not a problem, because code only took active object into account, 2.8 was iterating over all selected_editable_objects. 2018-12-19Fix T59237: Instancing on a path doesn't do anythingSergey Sharybin
This commit makes it so curve path parent solving accepts an explicit arguments for both time and curve speed flag, making it so we don't have to mock around with scene's frame. One unfortunate issue still is that if the instancing object is used for something else, we might be running into a threading conflict. Possible solution would be to create a temp copy of an object, but then it will be an issue of preventing drivers from modifying other datablocks. At least the original issue is fixed now, and things behave same as in older Blender version. Additionally, the global variable which was defining curve speed flag behavior is gone now!

2018-12-07Depsgraph: Remove duplicated sets of recalc/update flagsSergey Sharybin
There were at least three copies of those: - OB_RECALC* family of flags, which are rudiment of an old dependency graph system. - PSYS_RECALC* which were used by old dependency graph system as a separate set since the graph itself did not handle particle systems. - DEG_TAG_* which was used to tag IDs. Now there is a single set, which defines what can be tagged and queried for an update. It also has some aggregate flags to make queries simpler. Lets once and for all solve the madness of those flags, stick to a single set, which will not overlap with anything or require any extra conversion. Technically, shouldn't be measurable user difference, but some of the agregate flags for few dependency graph components did change. Fixes T58632: Particle don't update rotation settings
