2022-03-28Transform: avoid excessive recalculation with 'TREDRAW_SOFT'Germano Cavalcante
Contrary to the initial intention (in rB9916e0193c36), `TREDRAW_SOFT` flag, when isolated, is not cleared in `transformApply` and therefore is used in the `drawTransformApply` callback which basically recalculates the `transformation` which finally clears the flag. So remove the `drawTransformApply` callback so `transformApply` is not called when unnecessary. Differential Revision: https://developer.blender.org/D14430
2022-03-09Fix cursor drag failing to use click-startCampbell Barton
Error in b8960267dd51f9108b3b49e9b762e6b4d35ae1dc, the flag was cleared before use.
2022-03-09Event System: drag events no longer default to the drag start locationCampbell Barton
This avoids transform jumping which is a problem when tweaking values a small amount. A fix for T40549 was made box-select used the location when the key was pressed. While it's important for box-select or any operator where it's expected the drag-start location is used, this is only needed in some cases. Since the event stores the click location and the current location, no longer overwrite the events real location. Operators that depend on using the drag-start can use this location if they need. In some cases the region relative cursor location (Event.mval) now needs to be calculated based on the click location. - Added `WM_event_drag_start_mval` for convenient access to the region relative drag-start location (for drag events). - Added `WM_event_drag_start_xy` for window relative coordinates. - Added Python property Event.mouse_prev_click_x/y Resolves T93599. 2022-03-01Cleanup: ED_view3d_win_to_delta & ED_view3d_calc_zfac usageCampbell Barton
- Rename ED_view3d_win_to_delta `mval` argument to `xy_delta` as it as it was misleading since this is an screen-space offset not a region relative cursor position (typical use of the name `mval`). Also rename the variable passed to this function which also used the term `mval` in many places. - Re-order the output argument of ED_view3d_win_to_delta last. use an r_ prefix for return arguments. - Document how the `zfac` argument is intended to be used. - Split ED_view3d_calc_zfac into two functions as the `r_flip` argument was only used in some special cases.
2022-02-18Cleanup: Rename original curve object type enumHans Goudey
This commit renames enums related the "Curve" object type and ID type to add `_LEGACY` to the end. The idea is to make our aspirations clearer in the code and to avoid ambiguities between `CURVE` and `CURVES`. Ref T95355 To summarize for the record, the plans are: - In the short/medium term, replace the `Curve` object data type with `Curves` - In the longer term (no immediate plans), use a proper data block for 3D text and surfaces. 2022-01-20Subdivision: add support for vertex creasingKévin Dietrich
This adds vertex creasing support for OpenSubDiv for modeling, rendering, Alembic and USD I/O. For modeling, vertex creasing follows the edge creasing implementation with an operator accessible through the Vertex menu in Edit Mode, and some parameter in the properties panel. The option in the Subsurf and Multires to use edge creasing also affects vertex creasing. The vertex crease data is stored as a CustomData layer, unlike edge creases which for now are stored in `MEdge`, but will in the future also be moved to a `CustomData` layer. See comments for details on the difference in behavior for the `CD_CREASE` layer between egdes and vertices. For Cycles this adds sockets on the Mesh node to hold data about which vertices are creased (one socket for the indices, one for the weigths). Viewport rendering of vertex creasing reuses the same color scheme as for edges and creased vertices are drawn bigger than uncreased vertices. For Alembic and USD, vertex crease support follows the edge crease implementation, they are always read, but only exported if a `Subsurf` modifier is present on the Mesh. 2021-11-18Allow navigating while transformingGermano Cavalcante
This feature has been desired for some time: - https://rightclickselect.com/p/ui/Tqbbbc/allow-navigating-while-transforming (See comments); - D1583; - T37427; In short, blocking navigation during transform limits the user to move the object only to visible areas within the screen and hinders the allocation of objects within closed meshes. The node editor is also impaired because some nodes are far between them and the connectors are too small. The only disadvantage of this patch (as I see it) is the conflict with the existing key map: MIDDLEMOUSE: - enable axis constrain in 3D view; WHEELDOWNMOUSE, WHEELUPMOUSE, PAGEUPKEY, PAGEDOWNKEY: - change the threshold of the proportional edit; So the patch solution was to change these keymaps: - MIDDLEMOUSE to Alt+MIDDLEMOUSE; - WHEELDOWNMOUSE, WHEELUPMOUSE, PAGEUPKEY, PAGEDOWNKEY to Alt+(corresponding key); When you use this new keymap for the first time in the proportional edit, it may seem strange due to the custom of using it (both in View2D and View3D). But quickly the user gets used to it. Alternatively we can add an option to the user preferences ([] Allow navigating while transforming). (I'm not much fan of this option). The patch was done on branch2.8. But maybe it's a good idea to apply it to 2.79 Differential Revision: https://developer.blender.org/D2624

2021-10-08VSE: Implement the bounding box (xform) tool in the seq preview windowSebastian Parborg
Make the "xform" tool/gizmo available for strip transformations in the sequencer preview window. Because of the amount of hacks needed to make the gizmo work nicely with multiple strips at the same time, it was decided to only show the translate gizmo when multiple strips are selected. This is because the transforms with multiple strips would appear buggy because of our lack of shearing support in the transform system. There is also currently no way to properly sync the gizmo drawing with the transform when using multiple strips. 2021-09-15Gizmo: add flag to hide the gizmo group during interactionCampbell Barton

2021-08-24Nodes: Improvements to edge panning in the node editor.Lukas Tönne
- New operator property to toggle edge panning in the keymap: This is disabled by default to avoid edge-panning in cases where it gets distracting, such as adding a new node. Only the explicit translate operator(s) (GKEY or drag) have this enabled now. - Restore the initial view rect on edge pan cancel: The initial view rect is now stored in the edge pan operator data. When an operator with edge panning is cancelled it can now call the `UI_view2d_edge_pan_cancel` function to restore the original View2D rect. - Less delay in node editor scrolling: Delay is useful when scrolling through long lists, such as in the outliner, but makes node scrolling feel sluggish and unresponsive. The lower scroll speed here makes a faster response the better option. - Zoom influence feature: Somewhat slower scrolling in UI-space when zoomed out. With the 0.5 zoom influence factor nodes behave as if zoom factor is halved, otherwise it gets too fast when zoomed out. Previously scrolling would always be constant-speed in UI space, now it's half-way between UI space and node (view) space.
2021-08-17Cleanup: move 'recalcData' to 'transform_convert.h'Germano Cavalcante

2021-06-25Fix T87185: value assigned to modal Scale does not work properlyCampbell Barton
`t->values` does not necessarily represent a final value of the transformation, as each mode treats this value differently. So, unfortunately, we cannot have a generic offset solution for modal transform operations. Offset needs to be handled by each mode. Note: Currently only, `Move`, `Rotate` and `Resize` support this.
2021-06-24Cleanup: comment blocks, trailing space in commentsCampbell Barton
2021-05-12Fix T87947: Trasnform: Keyboard input uses view orientationGermano Cavalcante
When activated in modal, `translate`, `resize`, `rotate`, `shear` and `edge_rotate_normal` use a different orientation than the set in scene. This orientation needed to match since some of these modes can be switched during operation. The default orientation for these modes was `V3D_ORIENT_VIEW`. And this changed when finishing the `translate` and `resize` to `V3D_ORIENT_GLOBAL`. But this could cause inconsistencies when inputting values from the keyboard. The solution now is to change the orientation when you change the mode. --- Note: Although the user can expect the value entered to reflect the orientation set in the scene, it would require a lot of changes and would not be really useful.

2021-02-08Transform: Grid snap target refactorGermano Cavalcante
