The old convention was easy to confuse with ScrArea.
Part of https://developer.blender.org/T74432.
This is mostly a batch rename with some manual fixing. Only single word
variable names are changed, no prefixed/suffixed names.
Brecht van Lommel and Campbell Barton both gave me a green light for
this convention change.
Also ran clan clang format on affected files.

This resolves a logical problem using tweak as a fallback tool.
See: T66304#828742
The select action would immediately show the gizmo underneath it,
then the tweak would be handled by the gizmo instead of moving the item
under the cursor.
Currently this works by hiding the gizmo until the tweak event ends.
While it's simpler to check if the gizmo received a mouse-down event,
it causes flickering before each drag event which feels like a glitch.
This is optional for each gizmo type because there are cases where this
can be useful to activate the gizmo immediately (mesh rip for example).

|
Implement T66304 as an experimental option,
available under the preferences "Experimental" section.
- When enabled most tools in the 3D view have a gizmo.
- Dragging outside the gizmo uses the 'fallback' tool.
- The fallback tool can be changed or disabled in the tool options
or from a pie menu (Alt-W).

These instances refer to winding/direction.

The legacy keymap now activates on press.
|
|
Use drag-only keyamp to adjust gizmos which use drag motion
to change a value. By default gizmos still activate on press.
This allows for left click select to be used with transform
without the gizmos getting in the way.
Even though this isn't necessary for right click select
it allows click events to pass through and be used by tools
which can be useful.

Apply clang format as proposed in T53211.

without conflicts, see:

No need to access both edit & active object.

Keymap: E - Extrude Gizmo supported.
If the extrude points are the first or last of the stroke, the stroke is extended.
If the extrude points are in the middle of the stroke, a new stroke is created because the grease pencil strokes can be only with 2 extremes and fold the stroke to get a new point gets very bad results.
Still pending define a new icon. Also, it could be good to set by default XYZ axis in the gizmo.
Note: There is a change in the transform_gizmo_extrude_3d.c gizmo for OB_MODE_EDIT_GPENCIL. This change must be undo when the mode will be integrated into OB_MODE_EDIT, but while we have both modes, we need to keep this code in order to keep running the gizmo.

Transform orientation was previously related to constraints,
recent changes meant it was used even when not constraining to an axis.
Now transform orientation is separate from axis constraints.
|
|
Constraint options had confusing behavior:
- When non were pressed, the orientation was ignored.
- When any were pressed, the orientation was used,
but only unconstrained axed could be adjusted.
Now constraining is only used for modal execution
so there is no need to show these in the interface.
When an orientation is selected, the XYZ values always transform
using that space.
Note, transform system should be refactored to support different
orientations w/o having to use constraints.

While \file doesn't need an argument, it can't have another doxy
command after it.
|
|
Using 'Regular' instead for the common meaning, this avoids having to
add some i18n context disambiguation...
|
|
Wasn't obvious it's related to orientation,
also term manipulator is no longer in use.
|
|
Move \ingroup onto same line to be more compact and
make it clear the file is in the group.
|
|
Needed for clan-format not to wrap onto one line.

BF-admins agree to remove header information that isn't useful,
to reduce noise.
- BEGIN/END license blocks
Developers should add non license comments as separate comment blocks.
No need for separator text.
- Contributors
This is often invalid, outdated or misleading
especially when splitting files.
It's more useful to git-blame to find out who has developed the code.
See P901 for script to perform these edits.

This aims to resolve a conflict where some users want to keep keyboard
axis setting global, even when the orientation is set to something else.
Move/rotate/scale can optionally each have a separate orientation.
Some UI changes will be made next.
|
|
Now only show an arrow when extrude was constrained on an axis.
|
|
Avoid setting all operator options every redraw,
instead set them before invoking.
|
|
This was done for the normal gizmo, but not the XYZ handles.
|
|
For bones it's useful to extrude a bone aligned to the existing bone.

Since this is no longer mesh only, move out of mesh,
rename next.
