2013-06-25Fix #35767: transforming nodes in the node editor changed the wireframe colorBrecht Van Lommel
of the active object in the 3D view. This was due to sharing a global G.moving flag to indicate that transform is active, now it's only set per transform data type so different editors don't influence each other.
2013-06-16resolve [#33374] Extrude and mirror editingCampbell Barton
mirror editing option was only added to extrude so mirror editing would always be disabled. the option is now hidden to avoid confusing users.

2013-05-12Fix for [#35238] Blender does not save custom orientations from "view"Bastien Montagne
Actually more a feature request... Now create orientations operator has an additional option, use_view, when this one is enabled it will use current view instead of active object to create the new space. Also made some cleanup (made some funcs static).

2013-03-28I18n: various fixing.Bastien Montagne
* Reflect changes stated in prev commit about contexts in py code. * Add a "Plural" context, to handle cases where english does not mark plural at all (e.g. shorten labels of only one adjective). Not so happy with that, but can't see any other way to do it, for now. * Abuse "ID_CURVE" context for all falloff curves (this should solve some confusion issues, e.g. "sharp"...).

2012-06-10Planar tracking support for motion trackingSergey Sharybin
=========================================== Major list of changes done in tomato branch: - Add a planar tracking implementation to libmv This adds a new planar tracking implementation to libmv. The tracker is based on Ceres[1], the new nonlinear minimizer that myself and Sameer released from Google as open source. Since the motion model is more involved, the interface is different than the RegionTracker interface used previously in Blender. The start of a C API in libmv-capi.{cpp,h} is also included. - Migrate from pat_{min,max} for markers to 4 corners representation Convert markers in the movie clip editor / 2D tracker from using pat_min and pat_max notation to using the a more general, 4-corner representation. There is still considerable porting work to do; in particular sliding from preview widget does not work correct for rotated markers. All other areas should be ported to new representation: * Added support of sliding individual corners. LMB slide + Ctrl would scale the whole pattern * S would scale the whole marker, S-S would scale pattern only * Added support of marker's rotation which is currently rotates only patterns around their centers or all markers around median, Rotation or other non-translation/scaling transformation of search area doesn't make sense. * Track Preview widget would display transformed pattern which libmv actually operates with. - "Efficient Second-order Minimization" for the planar tracker This implements the "Efficient Second-order Minimization" scheme, as supported by the existing translation tracker. This increases the amount of per-iteration work, but decreases the number of iterations required to converge and also increases the size of the basin of attraction for the optimization. - Remove the use of the legacy RegionTracker API from Blender, and replaces it with the new TrackRegion API. This also adds several features to the planar tracker in libmv: * Do a brute-force initialization of tracking similar to "Hybrid" mode in the stable release, but using all floats. This is slower but more accurate. It is still necessary to evaluate if the performance loss is worth it. In particular, this change is necessary to support high bit depth imagery. * Add support for masks over the search window. This is a step towards supporting user-defined tracker masks. The tracker masks will make it easy for users to make a mask for e.g. a ball. Not exposed into interface yet/ * Add Pearson product moment correlation coefficient checking (aka "Correlation" in the UI. This causes tracking failure if the tracked patch is not linearly related to the template. * Add support for warping a few points in addition to the supplied points. This is useful because the tracking code deliberately does not expose the underlying warp representation. Instead, warps are specified in an aparametric way via the correspondences. - Replace the old style tracker configuration panel with the new planar tracking panel. From a users perspective, this means: * The old "tracking algorithm" picker is gone. There is only 1 algorithm now. We may revisit this later, but I would much prefer to have only 1 algorithm. So far no optimization work has been done so the speed is not there yet. * There is now a dropdown to select the motion model. Choices: * Translation * Translation, rotation * Translation, scale * Translation, rotation, scale * Affine * Perspective * The old "Hybrid" mode is gone; instead there is a toggle to enable or disable translation-only tracker initialization. This is the equivalent of the hyrbid mode before, but rewritten to work with the new planar tracking modes. * The pyramid levels setting is gone. At a future date, the planar tracker will decide to use pyramids or not automatically. The pyramid setting was ultimately a mistake; with the brute force initialization it is unnecessary. - Add light-normalized tracking Added the ability to normalize patterns by their average value while tracking, to make them invariant to global illumination changes. 2012-05-22A number of new features for the node editor in general and the Frame node ↵Lukas Toenne
in particular. For an detailed user-level description of new features see the following blogpost: http://code.blender.org/index.php/2012/05/node-editing-tweaks/ TL;DR: * Frame node gets more usable bounding-box behavior * Node resizing has helpful mouse cursor indicators and works on all borders * Node selection/active colors are themeable independently * Customizable background colors for nodes (useful for frames visual distinction).

should now be capitalized).
2012-02-27Implements a new operator for detaching nodes. In the process i overhauled ↵Lukas Toenne
the node muting system as well. There are a number of features that use a kind of "internal linking" in nodes: 1. muting 2. delete + reconnect (restore link to/from node after delete) 3. the new detach operator (same as 2, but don't delete the node) The desired behavior in all cases is the same: find a sensible mapping of inputs-to-outputs of a node. In the case of muting these links are displayed in red on the node itself. For the other operators they are used to relink connections, such that one gets the best possible ongoing link between previous up- and downstream nodes. Muting previously used a complicated callback system to ensure consistent behavior in the editor as well as execution in compositor, shader cpu/gpu and texture nodes. This has been greatly simplified by moving the muting step into the node tree localization functions. Any muted node is now bypassed using the generalized nodeInternalRelink function and then removed from the local tree. This way the internal execution system doesn't have to deal with muted nodes at all, as if they are non-existent. The same function is also used by the delete_reconnect and the new links_detach operators (which work directly in the editor node tree). Detaching nodes is currently keymapped as a translation variant (macro operator): pressing ALTKEY + moving node first detaches and then continues with regular transform operator. The default key is ALT+DKEY though, instead ALT+GKEY, since the latter is already used for the ungroup operator.

2012-01-11Longer names support for all ID and other object namesSergey Sharybin
This commit extends limit of ID and objects to 64 (it means 63 meaning characters and 1 for zero-terminator). CustomData layers names are also extended. Changed DNA structures and all places where length constants were hardcoded. All names which are "generating" from ID block should be limited by MAX_ID_NAME-2, all non-id names now has got own define called MAX_NAME which should be used all over for non-id names to make further name migration stuff easier. All name fields in DNA now have comment with constant which corresponds to hardcoded numeric value which should make it easier to further update this limits or even switch to non-hardcoded values in DNA. Special thanks to Campbell who helped figuring out some issues and helped a lot in finding all cases where hardcoded valued were still used in code. Both of forwards and backwards compatibility is stored with blender versions newer than January 5, 2011. Older versions had issue with placing null-terminator to DNA strings on file load which will lead to some unpredictable behavior or even crashes.

2011-11-07Camera tracking integrationSergey Sharybin
=========================== Commiting camera tracking integration gsoc project into trunk. This commit includes: - Bundled version of libmv library (with some changes against official repo, re-sync with libmv repo a bit later) - New datatype ID called MovieClip which is optimized to work with movie clips (both of movie files and image sequences) and doing camera/motion tracking operations. - New editor called Clip Editor which is currently used for motion/tracking stuff only, but which can be easily extended to work with masks too. This editor supports: * Loading movie files/image sequences * Build proxies with different size for loaded movie clip, also supports building undistorted proxies to increase speed of playback in undistorted mode. * Manual lens distortion mode calibration using grid and grease pencil * Supervised 2D tracking using two different algorithms KLT and SAD. * Basic algorithm for feature detection * Camera motion solving. scene orientation - New constraints to "link" scene objects with solved motions from clip: * Follow Track (make object follow 2D motion of track with given name or parent object to reconstructed 3D position of track) * Camera Solver to make camera moving in the same way as reconstructed camera This commit NOT includes changes from tomato branch: - New nodes (they'll be commited as separated patch) - Automatic image offset guessing for image input node and image editor (need to do more tests and gather more feedback) - Code cleanup in libmv-capi. It's not so critical cleanup, just increasing readability and understanadability of code. Better to make this chaneg when Keir will finish his current patch. More details about this project can be found on this page: http://wiki.blender.org/index.php/User:Nazg-gul/GSoC-2011 Further development of small features would be done in trunk, bigger/experimental features would first be implemented in tomato branch.
2011-11-01Fix #29101: 2D Tilt on Bezier Curve Bug?Brecht Van Lommel
Changing tilt for 2D curves doesn't really hurt, just makes things not so clear tosee what's going on because you're changing value which isn't used at all for 2D curves. Disallwo to run TRANSFORM_OT_tilt operator for 2D curves. Also made a correct fix for incorrect shortcut for tilt in 3D viewport toolbar, it was really confusing to have almost the same operators (TRANSFORM_OT_tilt and TRANSFORM_OT_transform with mode=tilt) in keymap. Better to use tilt operator in toolbar.
