2019-08-07Edit Mesh Selection: Move ED_view3d_select_ functions to bf_drawmano-wii
It is easier to deal with private values of the DRW_select engine and gives room for improvement. Reviewers: campbellbarton, fclem Differential Revision: https://developer.blender.org/D5415
2019-08-07Select utils refactor: remove lagacy `ED_view3d_select_id_read_rect`mano-wii
`ED_view3d_select_id_read_rect` serves only as a bridge to `DRW_framebuffer_select_id_read`. Keeping these codes similar only increases the complexity of some functions. Reviewers: campbellbarton Differential Revision: https://developer.blender.org/D5415
2019-05-18Fix T54686: objects don't occlude each other for edit-mesh select (part 2)Campbell Barton
The previous fix 8a6414ed46f66, resolved selection picking but didn't work for box/circle/lasso select. - Add ED_select_buffer_utils.h for general select-buffer operations unrelated to edit-mesh. - Circle select still needs to cache select-id's for each update.
2019-05-14Cleanup: rename ED_scrubbing.h to ED_time_scrub_ui.hJacques Lucke
Also renames the corresponding .c file.

2019-04-14CMake: prepare for BLENDER_SORTED_LIBS removalCampbell Barton
No functional change, this adds LIB definition and args to cmake files. Without this it's difficult to migrate away from 'BLENDER_SORTED_LIBS' since there are many platforms/configurations that could break when changing linking order. Manually add and enable WITHOUT_SORTED_LIBS to try building without sorted libs (currently fails since all variables are empty). This check will eventually be removed. See T46725.

2018-11-09Keymap: move builtin keymaps from C to PythonBrecht Van Lommel
This should be purely an implementation change, for end users there should be no functional difference. The entire key configuration is in one file with ~5000 lines of code. Mostly avoiding code duplication and preserve comments and utility functions from the C code. It's a bit long but for searching and editing it's also convenient to have it all in one file. Notes: - Actual keymap is shared by blender / blender_legacy and stored in `keymap_data/blender_default.py` This only generates JSON-like data to be passed into `keyconfig_import_from_data`, allowing other presets to load and manipulate the default keymap. - Each preset defines 'keyconfig_data' which can be shared between presets. - Some of the utility functions for generating keymap items still need to be ported over to Python. - Some keymap items can be made into loops (marked as TODO). See: D3907

Split out undo API from ED_util.h into ED_undo.h
2018-04-01Merge branch 'master' into blender2.8Campbell Barton
- Undo that changes modes currently asserts, since undo is now screen data. Most likely we will change how object mode and workspaces work since it's not practical/maintainable at the moment. - Removed view_layer from particle settings (wasn't needed and complicated undo).
2018-03-31Undo: unified undo system w/ linear historyCampbell Barton
- Use a single undo history for all operations. - UndoType's are registered and poll the context to check if they should be used when performing an undo push. - Mode switching is used to ensure the state is correct before undo data is restored. - Some undo types accumulate changes (image & text editing) others store the state multiple times (with de-duplication). This is supported by checking UndoStack.mode `ACCUMULATE` / `STORE`. - Each undo step stores ID datablocks they use with utilities to help manage restoring correct ID's. Needed since global undo is now mixed with other modes undo. - Currently performs each undo step when going up/down history Previously this wasn't done, making history fail in some cases. This can be optimized to skip some combinations of undo steps. grease-pencil is an exception which has not been updated since it integrates undo into the draw-session. See D3113
2018-03-30C Logging: use instead of printf for messagesCampbell Barton
- See `--log` help message for usage. - Supports enabling categories. - Color severity. - Optionally logs to a file. - Currently use to replace printf calls in wm module. See D3120 for details.

2017-06-08WM: move manipulator library into editorsCampbell Barton
As with operators, the window-manager has the API for defining, the editor can implement and register its own manipulators. This exposes wmManipulator, keeping it opaque isn't practical if editors and Python are to implement their own.
2017-06-01Main Workspace IntegrationJulian Eisel
This commit does the main integration of workspaces, which is a design we agreed on during the 2.8 UI workshop (see https://wiki.blender.org/index.php/Dev:2.8/UI/Workshop_Writeup) Workspaces should generally be stable, I'm not aware of any remaining bugs (or I've forgotten them :) ). If you find any, let me know! (Exception: mode switching button might get out of sync with actual mode in some cases, would consider that a limitation/ToDo. Needs to be resolved at some point.) == Main Changes/Features * Introduces the new Workspaces as data-blocks. * Allow storing a number of custom workspaces as part of the user configuration. Needs further work to allow adding and deleting individual workspaces. * Bundle a default workspace configuration with Blender (current screen-layouts converted to workspaces). * Pressing button to add a workspace spawns a menu to select between "Duplicate Current" and the workspaces from the user configuration. If no workspaces are stored in the user configuration, the default workspaces are listed instead. * Store screen-layouts (`bScreen`) per workspace. * Store an active screen-layout per workspace. Changing the workspace will enable this layout. * Store active mode in workspace. Changing the workspace will also enter the mode of the new workspace. (Note that we still store the active mode in the object, moving this completely to workspaces is a separate project.) * Store an active render layer per workspace. * Moved mode switch from 3D View header to Info Editor header. * Store active scene in window (not directly workspace related, but overlaps quite a bit). * Removed 'Use Global Scene' User Preference option. * Compatibility with old files - a new workspace is created for every screen-layout of old files. Old Blender versions should be able to read files saved with workspace support as well. * Default .blend only contains one workspace ("General"). * Support appending workspaces. Opening files without UI and commandline rendering should work fine. Note that the UI is temporary! We plan to introduce a new global topbar that contains the workspace options and tabs for switching workspaces. == Technical Notes * Workspaces are data-blocks. * Adding and removing `bScreen`s should be done through `ED_workspace_layout` API now. * A workspace can be active in multiple windows at the same time. * The mode menu (which is now in the Info Editor header) doesn't display "Grease Pencil Edit" mode anymore since its availability depends on the active editor. Will be fixed by making Grease Pencil an own object type (as planned). * The button to change the active workspace object mode may get out of sync with the mode of the active object. Will either be resolved by moving mode out of object data, or we'll disable workspace modes again (there's a `#define USE_WORKSPACE_MODE` for that). * Screen-layouts (`bScreen`) are IDs and thus stored in a main list-base. Had to add a wrapper `WorkSpaceLayout` so we can store them in a list-base within workspaces, too. On the long run we could completely replace `bScreen` by workspace structs. * `WorkSpace` types use some special compiler trickery to allow marking structs and struct members as private. BKE_workspace API should be used for accessing those. * Added scene operators `SCENE_OT_`. Was previously done through screen operators. == BPY API Changes * Removed `Screen.scene`, added `Window.scene` * Removed `UserPreferencesView.use_global_scene` * Added `Context.workspace`, `Window.workspace` and `BlendData.workspaces` * Added `bpy.types.WorkSpace` containing `screens`, `object_mode` and `render_layer` * Added Screen.layout_name for the layout name that'll be displayed in the UI (may differ from internal name) == What's left? * There are a few open design questions (T50521). We should find the needed answers and implement them. * Allow adding and removing individual workspaces from workspace configuration (needs UI design). * Get the override system ready and support overrides per workspace. * Support custom UI setups as part of workspaces (hidden panels, hidden buttons, customizable toolbars, etc). * Allow enabling add-ons per workspace. * Support custom workspace keymaps. * Remove special exception for workspaces in linking code (so they're always appended, never linked). Depends on a few things, so best to solve later. * Get the topbar done. * Workspaces need a proper icon, current one is just a placeholder :) Reviewed By: campbellbarton, mont29 Tags: #user_interface, #bf_blender_2.8 Maniphest Tasks: T50521 Differential Revision: https://developer.blender.org/D2451
2016-12-28Revert particle system and point cache removal in blender2.8 branch.Lukas Tönne

2016-05-05Transform/Snap: EditMesh/BKE_bvhutils API improvementsGermano Cavalcante
Separate the creation of trees from EditMesh from the creation of trees from DerivedMesh. This was meant to simplify the API, but didn't work out so well. `bvhtree_from_mesh_*` actually is working as `bvhtree_from_derivedmesh_*`. This is inconsistent with the trees created from EditMesh. Since for create them does not use the DerivedMesh. In such cases the dm is being used only to cache the tree in the struct DerivedMesh. What is immediately released once bvhtree is being used in functions that change(tag) the DM cleaning the cache. - Use a filter function so users of SnapObjectContext can define how edit-mesh elements are handled. - Remove em_evil. - bvhtree of EditMesh is now really cached in the snap functions. - Code becomes organized and easier to maintain. This is an important patch for future improvements in snapping functions.

2015-08-18Refactor translation code out of blenfontCampbell Barton
- Add blentranslation `BLT_*` module. - moved & split `BLF_translation.h` into (`BLT_translation.h`, `BLT_lang.h`). - moved `BLF_*_unifont` functions from `blf_translation.c` to new source file `blf_font_i18n.c`.

2015-04-21Metadata display support - patch by Julian and me.Antony Riakiotakis
Basically, blender adds a few metadata fields to images when we render an image. Those metadata can now be viewed in the image editor. Also, made sure metadata are available when we write imbufs to disc with "Save As". There may be more cases here that need fixing, but this means that loading an image with metadata will now properly preserve them in blender.

2014-05-07Fix issue discovered while investigating T39950:Antony Riakiotakis
Sculpt mode drawing fails after deleting a subsurf modifier in sculpt mode and undoing. This was quite difficult to spot. Main cause was that mesh data was not synchronized properly between undo and sculpt code because we generated a pbvh on derivedmesh invalidation without really refreshing the rest of the data. This could result in undo and drawing operating on different data. To solve this and avoid bad level calls I had to move quite some code around. Crazyspace is now moved to blenkernel, as did some sculpt calls that make sure sculpt data are properly refreshed.

2013-12-21Support units in modal numinputBastien Montagne
Summary: This completly changes the way modal numinput is handled. Now, edited expression is a string, which then gets unit- and py-evaluated to get a float value. We gain many power and flexibility, but lose a few "shortcuts" like '-' to negate, or '/' to inverse (if they are really needed, we still can add them with modifiers, like e.g. ctrl-/ or so). Features: - units (cm, ", deg, etc.). - basic operations from python/BKE_unit (+, *, **, etc.), and math constants and functions (pi, sin, etc.). - you can navigate in edited value (left/right key, ctrl to move by block) and insert/delete chars, e.g. to fix a typo without having to rewrite everything. - you can go to next/previous value with (ctrl-)TAB key. - As before, hitting backspace after having deleted all leading chars will first reset the edited value to init state, and on second press, the whole "modal numinput" editing will be cancelled, going back to usual transform with mouse. Notes: - Did not touch to how values are shown in header when modal numinput is not enabled (would do that in another commit), so this is still quite inconsistent. - Added back radian support in BKE_unit. - Added arcminute/arcsecond to BKE_unit. (those unit changes affect all angle UI controls, btw, so you can now enter radians or longitude/latitude values when in degrees units). Related to T37600. 2012-04-14Fixed another bunch of i18n bugs (thx to Leon Cheung for spotting them), ↵Bastien Montagne
among which: * Drag'n'drop translation in Outliner * "Execute" button in file window * "Labels" of spacing elements, in multi-column enums * A glitch with nodes "Value to RGB", they where called "ColorRamp" in node_type_base() call. This is not definitive, though, as it appears that UI node names are determined by this call, while it should be by "defines" in rna_nodetrre_types.h, I guess... Anyway, not good to have such things in two different places! Also moved default context name under BLF_translation.h, much better to have those all in one place, accessible from whole Blender code!

2011-11-07Camera tracking integrationSergey Sharybin
=========================== Commiting camera tracking integration gsoc project into trunk. This commit includes: - Bundled version of libmv library (with some changes against official repo, re-sync with libmv repo a bit later) - New datatype ID called MovieClip which is optimized to work with movie clips (both of movie files and image sequences) and doing camera/motion tracking operations. - New editor called Clip Editor which is currently used for motion/tracking stuff only, but which can be easily extended to work with masks too. This editor supports: * Loading movie files/image sequences * Build proxies with different size for loaded movie clip, also supports building undistorted proxies to increase speed of playback in undistorted mode. * Manual lens distortion mode calibration using grid and grease pencil * Supervised 2D tracking using two different algorithms KLT and SAD. * Basic algorithm for feature detection * Camera motion solving. scene orientation - New constraints to "link" scene objects with solved motions from clip: * Follow Track (make object follow 2D motion of track with given name or parent object to reconstructed 3D position of track) * Camera Solver to make camera moving in the same way as reconstructed camera This commit NOT includes changes from tomato branch: - New nodes (they'll be commited as separated patch) - Automatic image offset guessing for image input node and image editor (need to do more tests and gather more feedback) - Code cleanup in libmv-capi. It's not so critical cleanup, just increasing readability and understanadability of code. Better to make this chaneg when Keir will finish his current patch. More details about this project can be found on this page: http://wiki.blender.org/index.php/User:Nazg-gul/GSoC-2011 Further development of small features would be done in trunk, bigger/experimental features would first be implemented in tomato branch.
