2020-07-30Cleanup: GPU: Remove GPU_draw.h and move fluid gpu function to DRWClément Foucault
2020-07-30Cleanup: Split gpu_texture_image.c into BKE and IMB modulesClément Foucault
This is in order to disolve GPU_draw.h into more meaningful code blocks. All the Image related function are in `image_gpu.c`. All the MovieClip related function are in `movieclip.c`. The IMB module now has a connection with GPU. This is not strickly necessary and the code could be move to `image_gpu.c` if needed. The Image garbage collection is also ported to `image_gpu.c`.
2020-07-30GPU_draw.h: cleanup before splittingClément Foucault
2020-07-29Cleanup: GPU: Move Image based function to GPU_draw.hClément Foucault
This makes it less confusing what functions are for blender structures.
2020-07-29GPU: Refactor gpu_texture_image to not use GL callsClément Foucault
This is also a bit of code cleanup, reorganisation. Tried to be DRYed but avoid too much code change to (hopefully) minimize breakage. - GPU: remove TEXTARGET_CUBE_MAP, this is no longer used in the codebase. - GPUTexture: Move compressed texture upload to gpu_texture.cc - GPUTexture: Add per texture Anisotropic filtering switch
2020-07-27GPU: Fix crash and missing texture due to recent C++ portClément Foucault
Fix T79306 DRW: small issues with yesterday commits modifying TEXTARGET Fix T79303 Image texture node crashes EEVEE when connected to a shader output
2020-07-03Cleanup: Fluid renaming from old 'manta' naming to new 'fluid' namingSebastián Barschkis
Changed variable names from mmd, mds, mfs, and mes to fmd, fds, ffs, and fes. The author of this commits lights a candle for all the merge conflicts this will cause.
2020-07-01Fix missing GPU image free in background modeBrecht Van Lommel
This is legacy code from before Eevee and Workbench rendering in background mode was supported. Avoid memory leak by only queueing GPU textures to be freed when we know they have been allocated. Differential Revision: https://developer.blender.org/D8172
2020-06-02Cleanup: unused argumentCampbell Barton
2020-05-18Cleanup: Put GPU_state_init inside gpu_state.cClément Foucault
Also put glDisable(GL_DITHER) in it since we don't even use it (but is enabled by default). Also leave GL_MULTISAMPLE on by default since it has no impact on non-MSAA framebuffers.
2020-05-08Cleanup: take includes out of 'extern "C"' blocksJacques Lucke
Surrounding includes with an 'extern "C"' block is not necessary anymore. Also that made it harder to add any C++ code to some headers, or include headers that have "optional" C++ code like `MEM_guardedalloc.h`. I tested compilation on linux and windows (and got help from @LazyDodo). If this still breaks compilation due to some linker error, the header containing the symbol in question is probably missing an 'extern "C"' block. Differential Revision: https://developer.blender.org/D7653
2020-03-11GPU: minor changes to support standalone GHOST buildsCampbell Barton
- Move gpuPush/Pop from GPU_draw.h into GPU_state.h as this is for pushing/popping state. - Add 'GPU_STANDALONE' define, to bypass use of user-preferences for theme colors and pixelsize, as well as pbvh init/free functions. Needed to get GHOST tests working again.
2020-03-06Cleanup: Fix forward declaration of headersDalai Felinto
2020-02-25GPU: Add Image property to allow high bitdepth support on a per image basisClément Foucault
This adds the `Half Float Precision` option in the image property panel. This option is only available on float textures and is enabled by default. Adding a flag inside the imbuf (IB_halffloat) on load is done for EXR and PSD formats that can store half floating point (16bits/channels). The option is then not displayed in this case and forced. 2019-12-17Cleanup: split smoke drawing out into it's own fileCampbell Barton
gpu_draw.c had generic sounding utility functions which were specific to smoke drawing. Split into it's own file so the functionality is clearly separated.

2019-05-16Fix T64678: wrong DDS normal map rendering after recent changesBrecht Van Lommel
2019-05-13Cycles/Eevee: unified and improved texture image color space handlingBrecht Van Lommel
Cycles now uses the color space on the image datablock, and uses OpenColorIO to convert to scene linear as needed. Byte images do not take extra memory, they are compressed in scene linear + sRGB transfer function which in common cases is a no-op. Eevee and workbench were changed to work similar. Float images are stored as scene linear. Byte images are compressed as scene linear + sRGB and stored in a GL_SRGB8_ALPHA8 texture. From the GLSL shader side this means they are read as scene linear, simplifying the code and taking advantage of hardware support. Further, OpenGL image textures are now all stored with premultiplied alpha. Eevee texture sampling looks a little different now because interpolation happens premultiplied and in scene linear space. Overlays and grease pencil work in sRGB space so those now have an extra conversion to sRGB after reading from image textures. This is not particularly elegant but as long as engines use different conventions, one or the other needs to do conversion. This change breaks compatibility for cases where multiple image texture nodes were using the same image with different color space node settings. However it gives more predictable behavior for baking and texture painting if save, load and image editing operations have a single color space to handle. 2019-04-17ClangFormat: apply to source, most of internCampbell Barton
Apply clang format as proposed in T53211. For details on usage and instructions for migrating branches without conflicts, see: https://wiki.blender.org/wiki/Tools/ClangFormat
2019-03-15GPU: Simplify select shaders.mano-wii
The shaders are: `GPU_SHADER_3D_FLAT_SELECT_ID` and `GPU_SHADER_3D_UNIFORM_SELECT_ID`. This commit allows the drawing of the mesh select ids to be done on a 32UI format texture. This simplifies the shader that previously acted on the backbuffer and had to do an uint to rgba conversion. Differential Revision: https://developer.blender.org/D4350
2019-02-18doxygen: add newline after \fileCampbell Barton
While \file doesn't need an argument, it can't have another doxy command after it.
2019-02-06Cleanup: remove redundant doxygen \file argumentCampbell Barton
Move \ingroup onto same line to be more compact and make it clear the file is in the group.
2019-02-01Cleanup: remove redundant, invalid info from headersCampbell Barton
BF-admins agree to remove header information that isn't useful, to reduce noise. - BEGIN/END license blocks Developers should add non license comments as separate comment blocks. No need for separator text. - Contributors This is often invalid, outdated or misleading especially when splitting files. It's more useful to git-blame to find out who has developed the code. See P901 for script to perform these edits.
2019-01-29Cleanup: replace attrib w/ attrCampbell Barton
Also rename GPUVertexAttribs to GPUVertAttrLayers, avoids confusion with GPUVertAttr which isn't closely related.
2019-01-28Cleanup: sort forward declarations of enum & structCampbell Barton

2019-01-16Preferences: always do GPU accelerated mipmapping, remove preference.Brecht Van Lommel
This setting was added long ago to be cautious in case some GPUs did not support this propertly, no reason to have it anymore.
2018-10-09Workbench: Smoke: Add support for Color Mappping for smoke debuggingClément Foucault
2018-07-16Smoke: Port display to Workbench + object modeClément Foucault
This does not fix the smokesim. It only port the drawing method. The Object mode engine is in charge of rendering the velocity debugging. Things left to do: - Flame rendering. - Color Ramp coloring of volume data. - View facing slicing (for now it's only doing sampling starting from the volume bounds which gives a squarish look) - Add option to enable dithering (currently on by default.

2018-04-19Remove Blender Internal and legacy viewport from Blender 2.8.Ton Roosendaal
Brecht authored this commit, but he gave me the honours to actually do it. Here it goes; Blender Internal. Bye bye, you did great! * Point density, voxel data, ocean, environment map textures were removed, as these only worked within BI rendering. Note that the ocean modifier and the Cycles point density shader node continue to work. * Dynamic paint using material shading was removed, as this only worked with BI. If we ever wanted to support this again probably it should go through the baking API. * GPU shader export through the Python API was removed. This only worked for the old BI GLSL shaders, which no longer exists. Doing something similar for Eevee would be significantly more complicated because it uses a lot of multiplass rendering and logic outside the shader, it's probably impractical. * Collada material import / export code is mostly gone, as it only worked for BI materials. We need to add Cycles / Eevee material support at some point. * The mesh noise operator was removed since it only worked with BI material texture slots. A displacement modifier can be used instead. * The delete texture paint slot operator was removed since it only worked for BI material texture slots. Could be added back with node support. * Not all legacy viewport features are supported in the new viewport, but their code was removed. If we need to bring anything back we can look at older git revisions. * There is some legacy viewport code that I could not remove yet, and some that I probably missed. * Shader node execution code was left mostly intact, even though it is not used anywhere now. We may eventually use this to replace the texture nodes with Cycles / Eevee shader nodes. * The Cycles Bake panel now includes settings for baking multires normal and displacement maps. The underlying code needs to be merged properly, and we plan to add back support for multires AO baking and add support to Cycles baking for features like vertex color, displacement, and other missing baking features. * This commit removes DNA and the Python API for BI material, lamp, world and scene settings. This breaks a lot of addons. * There is more DNA that can be removed or renamed, where Cycles or Eevee are reusing some old BI properties but the names are not really correct anymore. * Texture slots for materials, lamps and world were removed. They remain for brushes, particles and freestyle linestyles. * 'BLENDER_RENDER' remains in the COMPAT_ENGINES of UI panels. Cycles and other renderers use this to find all panels to show, minus a few panels that they have their own replacement for.

2017-11-23Rename any instance of scene layer or render layer in code with view layerDalai Felinto
The RenderResult struct still has a listbase of RenderLayer, but that's ok since this is strictly for rendering. * Subversion bump (to 2.80.2) * DNA low level doversion (renames) - only for .blend created since 2.80 started Note: We can't use DNA_struct_elem_find or get file version in init_structDNA, so we are manually iterating over the array of the SDNA elements instead. Note 2: This doversion change with renames can be reverted in a few months. But so far it's required for 2.8 files created between October 2016 and now. 2017-04-27OpenGL: stop enabling GL_TEXTUREMike Erwin
Texturing is always enabled in GLSL. Simply use a sampler in the shader. Replaced gpu_generate_mipmap with glGenerateMipmap since the former just Enabled/Disabled the texture target and called the latter. Part of T51164
2017-04-27OpenGL: stop using GL_NORMALIZEMike Erwin
With GLSL there is no need for GL_NORMALIZE. We explicitly normalize in the shader, or (better) send in unit vectors. Part of T51164
