Use a shorter/simpler license convention, stops the header taking so much space. Follow the SPDX license specification: https://spdx.org/licenses - C/C++/objc/objc++ - Python - Shell Scripts - CMake, GNUmakefile While most of the source tree has been included - `./extern/` was left out. - `./intern/cycles` & `./intern/atomic` are also excluded because they use different header conventions. doc/license/SPDX-license-identifiers.txt has been added to list SPDX all used identifiers. 2021-05-27Fix incorrect BLI_snprintf usageCampbell Barton
Event though in practice this wasn't causing problems as the fixed size buffers are generally large enough not to truncate text. Using the result from `snprint` or `BLI_snprintf` to step over a fixed size buffer allows for buffer overruns as the returned value is the size needed to copy the entire string, not the number of bytes copied. Building strings using this convention with multiple calls: ofs += BLI_snprintf(str + ofs, str_len_max - ofs); .. caused the size argument to become negative, wrapping it to a large value when cast to the unsigned argument.
2021-01-29Fix T84661: read jpg pixel densityPhilipp Oeser
For jpeg, an image.resolution was always based on the default 72dpi, now read the pixel density from the jpeg_decompress_struct, convert according to unit and store in IMBuf's ppm. Not 100% sure of all implications tbh., files I have checked seem to work as expected now in the context of the report. 2020-12-15Cleanup: reduce indirect DNA header inclusionCampbell Barton
Remove DNA headers, using forward declarations where possible. Also removed duplicate header, header including it's self and unnecessary inclusion of libc system headers from BKE header.

Use the size argument to ensure checking the header doesn't read past the buffer bounds when reading corrupt/truncated headers from image files.

2019-02-18Jpeg: Fix write past array boundarySergey Sharybin
Was happening when image buffer had cryptomatte pass, which can easily exceed 530 bytes used by the buffer. Now default buffer is bumped to 1K, and also allowed to be heap-allocated when really need bigger buffer. Possible optimization is to allocate buffer once, but in practice those re-allocations will not happen often, so keeping code simpler is not an issue. Just something for a rainy day.

2019-02-01Cleanup: remove redundant, invalid info from headersCampbell Barton
BF-admins agree to remove header information that isn't useful, to reduce noise. - BEGIN/END license blocks Developers should add non license comments as separate comment blocks. No need for separator text. - Contributors This is often invalid, outdated or misleading especially when splitting files. It's more useful to git-blame to find out who has developed the code. See P901 for script to perform these edits.

2018-04-05IMB_metadata improvementsSybren A. Stüvel
- Metadata handling is now separate from `ImBuf *`, allowing it to be used with a generic `IDProperty *`. - Merged `IMB_metadata_add_field()` and `IMB_metadata_change_field()` into a more robust `IMB_metadata_set_field()`. This new function doesn't return any status (it now always succeeds, and the previously existing return value was never checked anyway). - Removed `IMB_metadata_del_field()` as it was never actually used anywhere. - Use `IMB_metadata_ensure()` instead of having `IMB_metadata_set_field()` create the containing `IDProperty` for you. - Deduplicated function declarations, moved `intern/IMB_metadata.h` out of `intern/`. Note that this does mean that we have some extra `#include "IMB_metadata.h"` lines now, as the metadata functions are no longer declared in `IMB_imbuf.h`. - Deduplicated function declarations, all metadata-related declarations are now in imbuf/IMB_metadata.h. from Lawrence D'Oliveiro (ldo) More use of bool type, necessitating adding inclusion of BLI_utildefines.h, or moving it up in the inclusion order if it was already included, in various places - storage.c: make some variables only used in bli_builddir local to that - storage.c: BLI_file_descriptor_size should allow 0 as a valid file descriptor - path_util.c: make pointers to non-reentrant storage returned from folder routines const, necessitating making variables holding these returned pointers const elsewhere as well - path_util.c: BLI_string_to_utf8 closes iconv context in case of conversion error - blf_lang.c: fill_locales routine now has its own "languages" local variable to construct paths (was stealing internal storage belonging to BLI_get_folder before)

2012-11-13Correction to YCCK and CNYK jpeg images loading into blenderSergey Sharybin
There was incorrect formula applied on color components, used the same as gimp uses. It makes image looking nicer in blender, however it's still not 100% correct. Seems lots of software are handling profiles from jpeg file nicely. But that's another topic.

2012-09-15Color Management, Stage 2: Switch color pipeline to use OpenColorIOSergey Sharybin
Replace old color pipeline which was supporting linear/sRGB color spaces only with OpenColorIO-based pipeline. This introduces two configurable color spaces: - Input color space for images and movie clips. This space is used to convert images/movies from color space in which file is saved to Blender's linear space (for float images, byte images are not internally converted, only input space is stored for such images and used later). This setting could be found in image/clip data block settings. - Display color space which defines space in which particular display is working. This settings could be found in scene's Color Management panel. When render result is being displayed on the screen, apart from converting image to display space, some additional conversions could happen. This conversions are: - View, which defines tone curve applying before display transformation. These are different ways to view the image on the same display device. For example it could be used to emulate film view on sRGB display. - Exposure affects on image exposure before tone map is applied. - Gamma is post-display gamma correction, could be used to match particular display gamma. - RGB curves are user-defined curves which are applying before display transformation, could be used for different purposes. All this settings by default are only applying on render result and does not affect on other images. If some particular image needs to be affected by this transformation, "View as Render" setting of image data block should be set to truth. Movie clips are always affected by all display transformations. This commit also introduces configurable color space in which sequencer is working. This setting could be found in scene's Color Management panel and it should be used if such stuff as grading needs to be done in color space different from sRGB (i.e. when Film view on sRGB display is use, using VD16 space as sequencer's internal space would make grading working in space which is close to the space using for display). Some technical notes: - Image buffer's float buffer is now always in linear space, even if it was created from 16bit byte images. - Space of byte buffer is stored in image buffer's rect_colorspace property. - Profile of image buffer was removed since it's not longer meaningful. - OpenGL and GLSL is supposed to always work in sRGB space. It is possible to support other spaces, but it's quite large project which isn't so much important. - Legacy Color Management option disabled is emulated by using None display. It could have some regressions, but there's no clear way to avoid them. - If OpenColorIO is disabled on build time, it should make blender behaving in the same way as previous release with color management enabled. More details could be found at this page (more details would be added soon): http://wiki.blender.org/index.php/Dev:Ref/Release_Notes/2.64/Color_Management -- Thanks to Xavier Thomas, Lukas Toene for initial work on OpenColorIO integration and to Brecht van Lommel for some further development and code/ usecase review!
