Convention was only followed loosely,
apply to DNA where changes aren't likely to conflict.
(Skipped ModifierType for eg).
|
|
All related settings are already in the brush,
so it's inconvenient to switch panels to change this one option.

This makes brush influence into a tube instead of a sphere.
It can be used along the outline of a mesh to adjust it's silhouette.
Note that all this takes advantage of changes from vertex paint,
from testing this seems useful so exposing from the brush options.

GSOC 2017 by Darshan Kadu, see: D2859.
This is a partial merge of some of the features from
the soc-2017-vertex_paint branch.
- Alpha painting & drawing.
- 10 new color blending modes.
- Support for vertex select in vertex paint mode.
|
|
2016 GSOC project by @nathanvollmer, see D2150
- Mirrored painting and radial symmetry, like in sculpt mode.
- Volume based splash prevention,
which avoids painting vertices far away from the 3D brush location.
- Normal based splash prevention,
which avoids painting vertices with normals opposite the normal
at the 3D brush location.
- Blur mode now uses a nearest neighbor average.
- Average mode, which averages the color/weight
of the vertices within the brush
- Smudge mode, which pulls the colors/weights
along the direction of the brush
- RGB^2 color blending, which gives a more accurate
blend between two colors
- multithreading support. (PBVH leaves are painted in parallel.)
- Foreground/background color picker in vertex paint

This allows for dragging out shapes that rotate to follow the cursor motion.
Values over 1 can be set for 'interesting' artistic effects.

Deprecate wrap (BRUSH_TORUS) option, we now have paint flags for tiling
and we can reuse those. Also allows seperate tiling in X/Y
direction for 2D painting now.
Only one tiling is allowed for now.
Options can be found in new "Tiling" panel under the tools tab.
For version patching, we just turn off brush wrapping,
to allow reuse of the flag in the future.
New option is paint mode wide instead of per brush so
a brush having the old wrap option will not enable it
for the whole mode in the version patch.

This commit includes a few things:
* It moves the Rake and Random flags from the brush to the MTex.
* The first change allows mask textures to have independent rake
support.
* Random rotation now has an angle value that controls the width of the
effect from the rake or default angle
* Rake and Random are now supported together.

Avoid having an invalid active index if user deletes a color.
Also attempt to set active color on clicking (Not working yet but fix
coming soon)

Yep, at last it's here!
There are a few minor issues remaining but development can go on in
master after discussion at blender institute.
For full list of features see:
http://wiki.blender.org/index.php/Dev:Ref/Release_Notes/2.72/Painting
Thanks to Sergey and Campbell for the extensive review and to the
countless artists that have given their input and reported issues during
development.

* Move symmetry options to the paint struct (where all paint systems can
make use of it)
* Rename draw_pressure to stroke_active. This is what is really checked
on those occasions that this is used. Also move turning on/off of this
option to the stroke level and avoid doing it on every stroke system.
* Rename BRUSH_RESTORE_MESH to BRUSH_DRAG_DOT. In image painting this
won't restore any mesh, so better have a name that is directly linked to
what the flag actually does.

regular stencil but use Alt as well, so Alt-Rclick is translation, Alt-
clamping to avoid scaling of stencil to zero.

next to the overlay alpha.
|
|
* Change coordinates of stencil to float, helps with precision during
property manuipulations
* Expose stencil properties to RNA.
|
|
* Using masking is determined only by the presence of the texture,
remove extraneous DNA flag (might cause issues later but in practice
brush options are not harmful)
* Overlay and angle sliders are active during stencil mapped brushes
* Only draw the overlay if there's a texture.

Stencil style texture mapping. Ready for field testing and user feedback.
This commit adds stencil like brushes, like those that existed on old ptex branch.
(with the exception of clip colour)
To control the position of the stencil, you use
Q: translation
Shift - Q: scaling
Ctrl - Q: rotation
There's extra work that has been done to make this work:
* Support for coloured overlay in vertex/texture painting
* Also made A button do stroke mode selection like in sculpt mode,
when mask painting is inactive.
There are some TODOs to work on during bcon3:
* Support tiled and stencil mode in 2D painting. Support alpha textures also.
* Tidy up overlay code. There's some confusion there due
to the way we use the primary brush texture sometimes for alpha, other times
for colour control.

while keeping the spread of the brush constant. A toggle under the
jitter slider provides the option to switch between relative/absolute.

patched all previous texture paint brushes to use tiled mapping since
mappping is now shared between 2d and 3d painting.

The mask brush currently has two modes, 'draw' and 'smooth'.
|
|
The toggle option, if enabled, will toggle back and forth between two
brushes. (The first brush of the desired tool type will be toggled to,
running the toggle again switches back to the previously selected
brush.)
If no brush of the desired type is found, and the create_missing
option is enabled, a new brush of that type will be created and set.

Patch from Jaggz H, thanks!
[#31096] Weight-painting: Brush-specific weights
http://projects.blender.org/tracker/?func=detail&atid=127&aid=31096&group_id=9
Each brush's weight can now be set individually, can also enable
unified setting (same as size and strength have.)
Added readfile code to the patch: subversion bumped to 1, brushes get
default weight of 0.5, unified weight enabled by default and value
from old vgroup_weight field.

Layer height used to be controlled with brush radius, quite confusing decision.
Added new property for brushes - height for adjusting affectable brush height

paint
A couple underlying issues:
* Paint icon was looking only at the object mode to determine what the
"current" mode is, but that gave problems when the object mode was
anything other than texpaint, but 2D image paint was turned on. Fix
was to also look at what space is being drawn, and only if it's in
the 3D view does it look at the ob mode.
* The brushes lists weren't getting filtered correctly in the same
case where 2D image paint was on but a different object mode is
enabled. Fixed by changing the brush rna poll to look at the paint
source, rather than the object mode.

Set special brush flag when inversion stroke was started, not wery nice, but
we can't make better with current events system implementation.
