actually beveled part of curve (previously affect of taper would have
been clamped by start/end bevel factor)
Here's an illustration:

a bevelled curve which isn't fully covered with a bevel.

- spelling - turns out we had tessellation spelt wrong all over.
- use \directive for doxy (not @directive)
- remove BLI_sparsemap.h - was from bmesh merge IIRC but entire file commented and not used.

without the underscores these clogged up the namespace for autocompleation which was annoying.

It can be found in Shape panel below Fill label. If this option is enabled,
caps of curve will be filled.

this means use of deprecated struct members gives a warning.
- makesdna.c preprocessor skips this.
- DNA_DEPRECATED_ALLOW is used so readfile.c can do versioning without warnings.
- this exposes some use of deprecated struct members, will deal with this after.

create a surface
This issue it totally related on issue with changing object datablock.
For curves it used to guess object type from curve datablock based on
count of control points in V direction.
This quess fails in case when SurfCircle datablock is trying to be reused
by another surface object or as another sample empty surface databouck used
to be treated as curve.
Store type in Curve when creating new Curve datablock which is used in
this object type quessing function.
Note: Previously saved files wouldn't change behavior at all.

handle/key
This used to be a weird per-curve setting which would happen to get
applied/work correctly if handles were set to "auto", and was a source
of constant confusion for both old and new animators. The main effect
of this handle-type/option was really to just ensure that auto-handles
stayed horizontal, instead of tilting as the keys were moved.
This commit simply changes this from a per-curve to per
keyframe/handle setting.

documentation done.

While doing some animation work over the past few days, I found that
it would be useful to be able to tag keyframes as a another type yet:
"jitter" for fill-in secondary motion (i.e. blinks/hand-keyed camera
shake). Of course, what you really use these for is up to you, but
this is one more option when you need it :)

Use object's displists for storing deformed tesselated curve. Was unable to
totally get rid of curve's displist because of how texture space is calculating.
|
|
ED_curve_updateAnimPaths now updates fcurves from animation data rather than
from local copy of curves: nurb and point index from keyIndex data gets
updated in this function and for correct handling undo stuff copy of
fcurves is stored in UndoCurve.
Additional changes:
- Revert of rev33640 and more proper fix: do not copy remained
spline-related rna fcurves after renaming pathes but all the rest
fcurves woulddbe copied back to animation data
- Refresh graph and dopesheet editor after updating animation data
|
|
===================
Update fcurves RNA pathes after making changes to curve topology, so
animation will no longer lost after edit and wouldn't lead to crash.
Will be very useful for RotoBezier addon.
Also NodeKeyIndex renamed to CVNodeIndex due to node is an entity from
another module and better not used in others.

- remove some redundant declarations

more of a request then a bug but shows up a strange limitation with curve deform modifier,
The mesh bounding box would set the deform axis start/end to map the deformation of the curve to. This means it ignored offset in the object location and object data location (you could use a dummy vertex to trick it).
Old files wont change, added an option (next to stretch), called 'Bounds Clamp', old files have this behavior but newly made curves have it disabled.
Double checked this gives useful results with stretch on/off and negative axis.

in many cases, and also gave incorrect rim lighting.

Fix #21498: Edit curve Shape key /252_r 27318
Added full support of shape keys for curves and nurbs surfaces including
topology changing in edit mode, undo stuff, updating relative keys when
working under basis and so on.
|
|
- remove FreeCamera struct (wasnt used)
- remove world color alpha values (not used anywhre).
|
|
- made smallcaps use a temp flag so caps can still have the smallcaps flag.
- utility function for getting the char from a font. find_vfont_char(), was inline in ~5 places.
- removed CU_STYLE mix of flags only used in one place, not needed. removed 'style' from rna too.
- fix for some warnings.
|
|
- small caps option for titles (doing manually is quite painful to watch).
|
|
Curve->lastselbp field was renamed to Curve->lastsel and now not last
either BPoint or BezTriple is storing here. It's not easy to determine
type of selected point, but operator which depends on such point reviews
the full nurbs, so this shouldn't be a problem.
Made changes to curve undo stuff to restore last selected point on undo/redo.
Added new theme color for curve last selected point.

Add new option named "Fill deformed". If this option is switched on.
2D curve will be first deformed by modifiers and only then be filled
with faces.
|
|
|
|
Fixed the operators for DopeSheet/Graph Editors responsible for setting the "auto-clamped". This option is actually per F-Curve instead of per handle, and the code here should function like it did in 2.4x
However, despite this, it still appears to work oddly IMO. Any comments Bassam or animators familiar with the intentions of this?

fix for crash with separate (missing NULL check)

* Extremes are shown as red/pink diamonds
* I've changed the order of extremes and breakdowns in the code to make for nicer sizing/ordering. This might break a couple of files out there, but it shouldn't be too many.
TODO:
Still on my todo is to make these tags more useful (i.e. less likely to be overwritten by keyframing)
|
|
- use_radius option, off by default for 2.4x files, on by default on new curves.
- curve deform modifiers (think tentacles)
- follow path (parent mode and constraint)
- curve guides
- added back Alt+S to scale point radius
- Mat3Scale and Mat4Scale arithb.c functions to make a new uniform scale matrix.
- TODO, effectors, looks like they have no way to scale from the radius yet.

|
store radius and quaternion
Added optional quat and radius args to anim.c's where_on_path(...), currently unused.
also cleanup some warnings.

* added new twist method - "Tangent", suggested by Martin.
the nice thing about this is its stable no matter how you rotate the data, rotation is local to each segment.
* added smooth option that smooths the twisting (before applying user twist), to workaround Z-Up and Tangent's ugly curve twisting. Id prefer not to have this however it makes tangent much nicer. Possibly tangent can be improved some other way and this can be removed.
A smooth value of 1.0 will iterate over and smooth the twisting by the resolution value of the spline.
* Minimum-Twist method now corrects for cyclic twist by taking the roll difference between first and last, then increasingly counter rotate each segment over the entire curve. Previously it calculated from both directions and blended them.
details
* BevPoints use quats rather then 3x3 matrix.
* added BevPoint direction "dir" and tangent "tan" used only for 3D curves.
* don't calculate BevPoint->cosa, BevPoint->sina for 3D curves.
* split bevel tilt calculation into functions.
* nurbs curves currently don't generate tangents and wont work with tangent twist method.
* some of the use of quats should be optimized.
* smoothing is not animation safe, the higher the smoothing the higher the likelyhood of flipping.
|
|
|
|
Renamed BevPoint's members
* x,y,z -> vec[3]; compatible with other functions.
* f1 -> split_tag; used by displist to set the splitting flag.
* f2 -> dupe_tag; used in curve.c to remove duplicates.
BevList
* flag -> dupe_nr; was being used as a counter for duplicate points.
* use arithb.c functions where possible.
* arrays for coords, tilt and radius were being allocated, then copied into the BevPoint's, now write directly into the values without allocing/freeing arrays.

- rename "Nurb" to "Spline" in RNA, eg. bpy.data.curves[0].splines[2].type == 'NURBS'
from a user perspective spline is a more generic term while Nurb is misleading when used for beziers and poly lines.
- added curve.active_spline property so the python UI can display the last selected curve.
- set the active spline when entering editmode (uses first selected spline)
- added back Hide Handles as a curve property (removed the global flag), access from the view panel in editmode.
- added hide normal option for curve, normal size access for curve and mesh display.
- changing orderU/V, endpoints, cyclic, bezierU/V now work in editmode and calls update functions.
- entering editmode was crashing with text objects
- curve.switch_direction() crashed (own fault from last commit)
- Tkey for tilt was overridden by Toolbar, made Tilt Ctrl+T.
- OBJECT_OT_mode_set check for compatible modes before running - so curves dont try go into paint mode with V key for eg.
|
|
moved CU_2D to Nurb->flag in do_versions
This made simple type checks confusing to read.
many... if( (nu->type & 7)==CU_BEZIER)
replaced with ... if(nu->type == CU_BEZIER)
made setting rna curve_2d clamp the Z values. still more RNA/UI changes to do.
