2016-03-19Fix T47837: Filtering UIList broken with recent master.Bastien Montagne
Using 32nd bit of integer with our int RNA prop is not a good idea, it does not really support unsigned int even with PROP_UNSIGNED type... Most likely this has been unveiled by recent work over property clamping in RNA. Not critical, but should be backported should we make an 'a' release.

2015-07-29Port optimization from gooseberry branch:Antony Riakiotakis
Treat scrubbing as animation. This is checked during various updates to avoid some costly calculations.
2015-04-27Fix T44011: Ruler/Knife/Loop-cut fail in quad-viewCampbell Barton
This is a kind of sloppy-focus, resolving long standing bug with loop-cut/knife/ruler /w quad-view. Where activating a tool would lock onto one of quad-views, especially problematic when activating from the toolbar or menus.
2015-04-25Fix T42495: Fullscreen area icon glitchJulian Eisel
Tried a couple of things to trigger an update/redraw for the exact right moment (sending azone update event, timer, delayed redraw, etc) but this seems to work rock solid without being *that* ugly.

2015-01-28Stacked fullscreen area support (proper implemenation)julianeisel
Adds support for stacked fullscreens. This basically means, if a user opens a temporary fullscreen mode, such as the File Browser or the Image Editor render view, from a different fullscreen, the "Back to Previous" function or the other ways to escape those temporary fullscreens don't return to the split screen layout but to the previous fullscreen he has been in. I already committed something similar (f7e844570fea862) but that was only supposed as a fix, it didn't work for the "Back to Previous" operator and the implementation wasn't really reusable. This one looks a bit nicer + makes some older hacks unnecessary :)

2015-01-14Workaround/Fix T43139: Calling bpy.ops.screen.screen_full_area() multiple ↵julianeisel
times in python console causes Blender to crash This was sort of a chicken<->egg dilemma, because after a maximized screen was restored, the screen handling used region coordinates which weren't updated yet. I'm still not sure why, but this resulted in area coords that go beond INT_MAX. To fix this I made sure the first screen handling after restoring a maximized screen is skipped, so that it's delayed to the next call of wm_event_do_handlers (since this is called from main loop there shouldn't be a noticable delay or any handling glitches).
2015-01-12Fix T42754: File-Selector lost on fullscreen exitCampbell Barton
There was a hard-coded check to exit the fileselector when restoring a view. Now, when space types differ, flag areas as temporary and switch back to the previous type only in this case. This means you can select a file while having a file-selector space type open, and not loose it every time.
2014-10-14Fullscreen Editor (new fullscreen mode for clean UI)Dalai Felinto
Organize Maximize/Fullscreen mess and add a new fullscreen mode with no UI * Maximize Editor: (old Ctrl+Up) * Full Screen Window: (old Alt + F11) * Full Screen Editor: new operator (Alt + F10) * Change Show/Hide Header: (Alt + F9) When the mode is on moving the mouse near the top right corner of the editor shows an icon to go back to the normal editor mode. This was originally intended for the multiview branch, but this functionality also benefits non-stereo workflows, thus it can be reviewed and committed independently. Development notes: * This includes cleanups in the code to sanitize the naming of fullscreen/maximize across the window/editor code. * Originally the idea was to make the window fullscreen as well, but this idea was dropped. * You can see the clicking area when debug is 1 * Technically the user can be left with an unfaded icon in the corner (specially when using a tablet). If we think this is too bad we can increase the action zone to be the whole screen, or something similar. 2014-08-27UI: Warn when using fallback categoryCampbell Barton
Scripts should be updated.
2014-08-26Fix T38999: Tool tabs and Old Addons living in perfect harmony.Bastien Montagne
Just have a default 'Misc' category (harmless for panels in non-cat context). In case we would still want a panel to show in all tabs (rather unlikely), just explicitely give an empty string to its bl_category property. Note I choose 'Misc' because it's much shorter than 'Uncategorized' (space is an issue here), it's a one-liner to change it anyway if UI Mafia does not like it!

2014-06-14UI: Add support for popups to refresh their layput (D578)Campbell Barton
This is needed for popups to chance state once activated, currently it makes use of operators `check` callback, after values are modified, as the file selector does already.
2014-04-02Replace resize code of image scopes by use of new GRIP button.Bastien Montagne
This deduplicates/simplifies some code. Also cleanup up a bit scopes UI code! Use new GRIP button for uiList grab-resize. This allows us to greatly simplifies the code, and get rid of a few hacks in uiList event handling! Note autosize mode of uiList is now trigered by any value of list_grip below a given threshold, rather than the fixed zero value... 2014-04-02Add drag-resize to uiTemplatePreview (mat/tex/etc. preview widget).Bastien Montagne
This is done by adding a new button type, GRIP, similar to other numbuttons (scroll, slider, ...), which here controls the preview height. Then, we add a new DNA struct to be able to save that height in Blend files (note I choose not to use Panel struct for this, because we would then have the same limitation we used to have with uiLists, only one preview per panel and no preview outside panel). This implies a change to template_preview UI RNA/py API (each preview needs an ID), but this is backward compatible, as by default datablock type will be used if no ID is given (which means e.g. all material previews with no ID will have same height). 2013-12-18Fix T37843: area split widget missing in python console editor.Brecht Van Lommel
Python was indirectly causing redraw tags during drawing, which interfered with the ARegion.drawrct, now ignore these during draw.
2013-12-16UI: Tabs categories for panels (D75)Campbell Barton
- works by defining panel categories, currently restricted to the toolbar. - no panels define bl_categories yet, so no user visible changes since tabs only show when there are multiple. - panel pinning is available in rmb menu or alt+lmb.
2013-12-10Fix T37463: Increasing window size would add space around menu headerCampbell Barton
2013-08-30minor ui editsCampbell Barton
- move addon refresh button into header - uilist, use icon for sorting by name (gives more room for name, icon is used in fileselector for same purpose). - rename orderby to sort in rna and flag names. - simplify BKE_nurb_handle_calc_simple
2013-08-29Last uiList patch (for now!): filtering and reordering of shown elements.Bastien Montagne
Thanks to Brecht for the reviews. :) This commit adds a show/hide extension below each uiList, containing by default an option to filter and/or reorder items by name (and to reverse those filtering and reordering). Each derived uiList class in Python can define more specific filtering by implementing callbacks: the draw_filter() function to draw options in UI, and the filter_items() function to effectively filter/reorder items. Note: the advanced options for vgroups shown as "proof od concept" in patches do not go in trunk for now, we have to find a better way to get those vgroups info for UI code, we can't afford to loop over each vertex here! And doc (release notes and uiList example) is still to be updated, will do this in next days.
2013-08-27Small enhancement to grab-resize of uiLists, suggested by plasmasolutions: ↵Bastien Montagne
do not effectively apply auto-size until we stop grabbing, avoid size of uiLists to switch between rows and maxrows while dragging.
2013-08-27uiLists enhacements: dragresize and better GRID layout.Bastien Montagne
Many thanks to Brecht for the review! * You can now drag-resize uiLists (in default or grid layouts). ** Note about "default" size: when you drag below minimal size of the uiList, it will automatically reset to automatic sizing (i.e. size between rows and maxrows, depending on the number of items to show). This often means (e.g. in Materials list with many mat slots) that the list will grow again to maxrows! * Grid uiLists now have a customizable number of columns (previously it was a fixed value of 9), and they will respect the rows/maxrows settings as well (i.e. show a scrollbar when needed), instead of growing indefinitly!

2013-04-22Fix #35051: when viewing a complex node setup in the material properties, theBrecht Van Lommel
properties were continuously redrawing, which slowed down everything else. The problem was integer overflow, with a short only capable of storing values up to 32767. Note that sockets are collapsed by default since the previous release, and that's it's not very useful to edit such complex node setups in the properties editor, it's mainly meant for simple setups or group nodes to present just a few sockets.

verts since the face stores these already. also remove ScrArea.cursor, historic runtime variable.
2013-01-30Add active region for operator execution.Campbell Barton
This means you can for example, uv unwrap in quad-view and change settings in the toolbar without defaulting back to the first quad-view region available. This may be displayed to the user later, for now this is set on executing registrable operators.
2012-12-28style cleanup: var naming for ui listCampbell Barton
2012-12-28This commit frees list ui items from their dependencies to Panel, and hence ↵Bastien Montagne
from all the limitations this implied (mostly, the "only one list per panel" one). It introduces a new (py-extendable and registrable) RNA type, UIList (roughly similar to Panel one), which currently contains only "standard" list's scroll pos and size (but may be expended to include e.g. some filtering data, etc.). This now makes lists completely independent from Panels! This UIList has a draw_item callback which allows to customize items' drawing from python, that all addons can now use. Incidentally, this also greatly simplifies the C code of this widget, as we do not code any "special case" here anymore! To make all this work, other changes were also necessary: * Now all buttons (uiBut struct) have a 'custom_data' void pointer, used currently to store the uiList struct associated with a given uiLayoutListBox. * DynamicPaintSurface now exposes a new bool, use_color_preview (readonly), saying whether that surface has some 3D view preview data or not. * UILayout class has now four new (static) functions, to get the actual icon of any RNA object (important e.g. with materials or textures), and to get an enum item's UI name, description and icon. * UILayout's label() func now takes an optional 'icon_value' integer parameter, which if not zero will override the 'icon' one (mandatory to use "custom" icons as generated for material/texture/... previews). Note: not sure whether we should add that one to all UILayout's prop funcs? Note: will update addons using template list asap.
2012-12-15Bugfix, irc collection:Ton Roosendaal
With larger header sizes (via DPI setting), splitting an area horizontally (using left-bottom corner widget, move up) stopped immediate after split, not allowing to drag it to a position. Culprit was code to check minimum header size, and area operator using the same flags. Now ScrVert has two flags - one for internal use, one for the tools to set.

Nice formatted version (pictures soon): http://wiki.blender.org/index.php/Dev:Ref/Release_Notes/2.66/Usability Short list of main changes: - Transparent region option (over main region), added code to blend in/out such panels. - Min size window now 640 x 480 - Fixed DPI for ui - lots of cleanup and changes everywhere. Icon image need correct size still, layer-in-use icon needs remake. - Macbook retina support, use command line --no-native-pixels to disable it - Timeline Marker label was drawing wrong - Trackpad and magic mouse: supports zoom (hold ctrl) - Fix for splash position: removed ghost function and made window size update after creation immediate - Fast undo buffer save now adds UI as well. Could be checked for regular file save even... Quit.blend and temp file saving use this now. - Dixed filename in window on reading quit.blend or temp saves, and they now add a warning in window title: "(Recovered)" - New Userpref option "Keep Session" - this always saves quit.blend, and loads on start. This allows keeping UI and data without actual saves, until you actually save. When you load startup.blend and quit, it recognises the quit.blend as a startup (no file name in header) - Added 3D view copy/paste buffers (selected objects). Shortcuts ctrl-c, ctrl-v (OSX, cmd-c, cmd-v). Coded partial file saving for it. Could be used for other purposes. Todo: use OS clipboards. - User preferences (themes, keymaps, user settings) now can be saved as a separate file. Old option is called "Save Startup File" the new one "Save User Settings". To visualise this difference, the 'save startup file' button has been removed from user preferences window. That option is available as CTRL+U and in File menu still. - OSX: fixed bug that stopped giving mouse events outside window. This also fixes "Continuous Grab" for OSX. (error since 2009)

2011-06-04Code holiday commit:Ton Roosendaal
- fix: user pref, window title was reset to 'Blender' on tab usage - Undo history menu back: - name "Undo History" - hotkey alt+ctrl+z (alt+apple+z for mac) - works like 2.4x, only for global undo, editmode and particle edit. - Menu scroll - for small windows or screens, popup menus now allow to display all items, using internal scrolling - works with a timer, scrolling 10 items per second when mouse is over the top or bottom arrow - if menu is too big to display, it now draws to top or bottom, based on largest available space. - also works for hotkey driven pop up menus. - User pref "DPI" follows widget/layout size - widgets & headers now become bigger and smaller, to match 'dpi' font sizes. Works well to match UI to monitor size. - note that icons can get fuzzy, we need better mipmaps for it

Right Mouse on area edges has menu to Split or Join. Works like 2.4. Code needed cleanup and upgrade; operators were hardcoded tied to using the area corner widgets only. In theory this is getting py ready even, but that might need some additional testing. :)

2011-02-02Bugfix [#25902] alt+a over 3D view don't up date dropesheet editorJoshua Leung
Migrating "redraws" settings from TimeLine view data to per Screen. The options are now still shown in the TimeLine "Playback" menu though. This means that whatever redraw settings you set in a TimeLine editor will be used throughout a screen (i.e. editor layout) to determine which editors will get updated during playback, instead of only certain editors doing certain things at vague times. --- Also, I moved some version patches pre 2.56 version bump into a version-check for 2.56. These must've been missed when doing the release...

2010-11-09Bugfix #20812 (and probably others)Ton Roosendaal
Issue: in user preferences window, using file selecting caused the the userpref window to be saved, and not closing. Reason: design error (by me) in using screen->full tag for denoting a temporarily screen (like file window). Fixed by using a new screen->temp variable for it. System remained unstable though, noticed another issue with freeing temp screens in wrong places. Seems nice stable now! Will check on the wiki for relarted issues now.
