2011-12-15Free run no gaps time code implementationSergey Sharybin
This commit adds new timecode type which counts frames in gapless mode (counting actually decoded frames instead of using pts to find frame number) which might resolve issues with files which have got broken or incorrect base time value stored in the header. This timecode allows to deal with movies from #29388: Abnormal frame length on MP4 files
2011-12-04add define for deprecated DNA struct members: DNA_DEPRECATED,Campbell Barton
this means use of deprecated struct members gives a warning. - makesdna.c preprocessor skips this. - DNA_DEPRECATED_ALLOW is used so readfile.c can do versioning without warnings. - this exposes some use of deprecated struct members, will deal with this after.

This patch adds: * support for proxy building again (missing feature from Blender 2.49) additionally to the way, Blender 2.49 worked, you can select several strips at once and make Blender build proxies in the background (using the job system) Also a new thing: movie proxies are now build into AVI files, and the proxy system is moved into ImBuf-library, so that other parts of blender can also benefit from it. * Timecode support: to fix seeking issues with files, that have a) varying frame rates b) very large GOP lengths c) are broken inbetween d) use different time code tracks the proxy builder can now also build timecode indices, which are used (optionally) for seeking. For the first time, it is possible, to do frame exact seeking on all file types. * Support for different video-streams in one video file (can be selected in sequencer, other parts of blender can also use it, but UI has to be added accordingly) * IMPORTANT: this patch *requires* ffmpeg 0.7 or newer, since older versions don't support the pkt_pts field, that is essential for building timecode indices. Windows and Mac libs are already updated, Linux-users have to build their own ffmpeg verions until distros keep up.

2011-08-093D Audio GSoC:Joerg Mueller
Improved waveform drawing in the sequencer. * Drawing the waveform of a sequencer strip is now independent from whether the sound is cached or not. * Improved drawing of the waveform in the sequencer (especially speed!). * Making it possible to vertically zoom more in the sequencer to better see the waveform for lipsync. * Fixed a bug which crashed blender on loading a sound file via ffmpeg.
2011-07-283D Audio GSoC:Joerg Mueller
Implemented basic audio animation. * AnimatableProperty: Propper cache writing and spline interpolation for reading (the solution for stair steps in audio animation) * Animatable properties so far are: volume, pitch, panning * Users note: Changing the pitch of a sound results in wrong seeking, due to the resulting playback length difference. * Users note: Panning only works for mono sources, values are in the range [-2..2], this basically controls the angle of the sound, 0 is front, -1 left, 1 right and 2 and -2 are back. Typical stereo panning only supports [-1..1]. * Disabled animation of audio related ffmpeg output parameters. * Scene Audio Panel: 3D Listener settings also for Renderer, new Volume property (animatable!), Update/Bake buttons for animation problems, moved sampling rate and channel count here
2011-06-16== Simple Title Cards for Sequencer ==Joshua Leung
This commit adds an experimental effect strip to the sequencer: "Title Card". This is useful for adding simple one-line text section headers or "title cards" (i.e. title + author/contact details) to video clips, which is often seen in demo videos accompanying papers and/or animation tests. See http://aligorith.blogspot.com/2011/06/gsoc11-simple-title- cards.html for some more details on usage. Code notes: - There are a few things I've done here which will probably need cleaning up. For instance, the hacks to get threadsafe fonts for rendering, and also the way I've tried to piggyback the backdrop drawing on top of the Solid Colour strips (this method was used to keep changes here minimal, but is quite fragile if things change).

2011-05-16[PATCH] == Sequencer ==Peter Schlaile
This patch adds adjustment layer tracks to the sequencer and does some cleaning up of the code. What's an adjustment layer? Think of it as an effect track, which takes no explicit input, but alters the output of everything down the layer stack. So: you can add several stages of color correction with it. And: you can even use it with metastrips to group several adjustments together.
2011-02-17DNA header files are now grouped under the same module. No further ↵Nathan Letwory
documentation done.

This fixes Orig Dimension display (mostly). * orx, ory both didn't get calculated, if dimension already matched * putting them into Strip instead of StripData ment, that using images of different dimensions in one strip could lead to incorrect results Still TODO: on file open, timeline display happens before preview display which means: orig_width and height are calculated after the first draw of N-keys dialog. You have to hit refresh (or scrub one frame) to get the right values displayed.

This fixes: [#23184] Problems with speed control effect strip in the video sequence editor Also: got rid of tstripdata caches in DNA. Fixes some potential crashes in SEQ_IMAGE rendering (s_elem wasn't checked for NULL).

balance. - multiply of 0.0 wasnt being applied.
2010-07-08Sequencer display overlay option, this can show a border area from another ↵Campbell Barton
time to help compare for color grading. - Okey sets the border in the display. - Okey resets the frame offset in the sequencer timeline. - ghost icon in the header can enable/disable. - frame offset can be relative or absolute (lock icon) Not very happy that this commit adds a call to BKE_animsys_evaluate_animdata(scene, ...) in do_build_seq_array_recursively() without this the offset frames dont have fcurves applied. Though we will need something like this for prefetch frames to work too.

- effects strips now add directly above the strips they operate on (almost always what you want) - blend mode for new image/movie/scene/color strips is now cross: without this adjusting alpha will fade to black rather then the strip below. - SEQ_HAS_PATH macro didnt include sound-ram or sound-hd - meta drawing code has misleading variable names (from own commit).

This adds MULTICAM-editing support for blender. (Well, the beginning of.) There is now a new effect track, named MULTICAM, which just selects one of the lower tracks. Doesn't sound that exciting, but if you combine this with A/B-Trim (moving split points of two directly connected tracks around, while magically resizing both strips, something to be added), you just do: * add several tracks for your camera angles * (optionally) sync those tracks * add one multicam track on top Use that multicam-track to edit your movie. (Either using fcurves on the multicam source selector or using knife-tool and A/B-Trim.) Compare that to: * add several tracks * add cross fades between them * do some python scripting to add several fcurves to make that beast somewhat work. * cry out loud, using it, if you have to move cut points around Alternatively, even harder: * just edit the old way and put strip after strip You might think, that this isn't really helpfull for animators, but consider using scene-strips (in OpenGL-mode) for input, that are set for different camera angles and can now be intercut a lot more easily... Also: small fix on the way: the speed effect can now be used in cascade. (Don't know, if anyone used it that way, but now it works.)

- recode of the whole sequencer audio handling - encode audio flag removed, instead you choose None as audio codec, added None for video codec too - ffmpeg formats/codecs: enabled: theora, ogg, vorbis; added: matroska, flac (not working, who can fix?), mp3, wav - sequencer wave drawing - volume animation (now also working when mixing down to a file!) - made sequencer strip position and length values unanimatable
2009-12-17- sequencer clipboard now stored globally (not in the scene, makes pasting ↵Campbell Barton
into other scenes nicer) - multiple pastes after copying - clear the sound handle when copying (was crashing) - allow seq freeing without a scene (assumes seq strip isnt active and sound handle isnt set) - free clipboard sequences on exit - paste sequence strips using the relative playhead location from when they were copied. TODO - check scene pointers on paste - detect overlaps after paste
2009-12-17sequencer clipboardCampbell Barton
note: for inter-scene copying this uses a hack because Colin needs it because half his scene was scrambled by blender.
2009-12-12Sequencer: Transform Strip updates (Durian wish)Andrea Weikert
Removed the Start/End Settings and the effect_fader from the sequencer transform strip. The transform strip can now only be animated directly by keying the Scale X, Scale Y, Translate X, Translate Y and Rotation values. Caveat: The uniform scale re-uses the Scale X value, so when changing the animation on Scale X in the non-uniform scaling case, the uniform scaling will be affected too. This was done to not break files for Durian. Note: As much as I would have liked to clean up the TransformVars, it caused crashes of earlier versions of blender when opening the file. The rna identifiers were also kept as to not break any existing animation on those keys.
2009-12-09Sequencer fix: Transform Strip wouldn't work with default_faderAndrea Weikert
* added default_fader to transform strip, since it used the old fac too. * removed ANIMATEABLE attribute from the settings in the transform strip, since they are animated via the effect_fader and not directly for now. (too confusing) * UI: only show default_fader for the effect strips that support it Sequencer Durian feature: uniform scale for Sequence transform strip. * for now re-using variable for x-axis scaling. Note: This brings back functionality as close to 2.49 as possible. The Start and End values in the current design are not meant to be animated directly, but via the effect_fader.

Brought back default effect fading: (adding a wipe effect makes it wipe by default for the length of the strip) First round in upgrading IPOs from older versions. (works for non-IPO case now and sets at least the new "default effect fade"-flag) Still non-working for old IPOs, since Sequence-Strips aren't real IDs! And: non-frame-lock case should stretch the FCurve to the right length!
2009-11-22== Sequencer ==Peter Schlaile
This should make animations in sequencer work again at most places. It removes facf0 and facf1 and replaces them by * effect_fader (the fader position for transition effects limited 0-1 value range) * speed_fader (full range fader for speed effect) Also: default transitions should work again. Still not working: non-IPO-locked curves. (Don't really know, if we can / want to bring them back in new animation system.)
2009-11-19* Added control and animation of sound volume of sequence sound strips ↵Matt Ebb
(found in properties pane) To insert keys, use I key while hovering over the button for now, rmb clicking on the property to insert a key doesn't work (general bug for all regions except property editor - will investigate). Doesn't convert over from old fac0 ipos on opening old files though for the time being. * Made sequence strip names unique while I was at it, to allow strip properties to be animated properly.

Sequencer changes from source/blender/src coming next
2009-06-14== Sequencer ==Peter Schlaile
Big proxy fix (addressing hopefully most complaints on mailing list and in tracker) * proxy render settings are now independent of render size settings. That means: which proxy size is used, is controlled by two parameters now: the proxy size of the files, can be controlled with additional buttons within the proxy panels. What is shown in a specific preview window depends on the header settings of the preview panel. So: proxies are _only_ used in those windows, that are switched to a specific proxy resolution. * output rendering is always done _without_ proxies. * proxy generation now shows a waitcursor with numbers. (closing Bug: [#18909] Building Proxies doesn't give any feedback which was rather a feature request, since the problem mentioned there was always the case :) )
2009-06-13merged from trunk 20741:20848 Campbell Barton
* Missing changes to release/windows/installer * Sequencer fixes in source/blender/src/seqaudio.c dont apply to 2.5 * brechts fix for #18855 r20763 wasnt merged, does this apply to 2.5?
2009-06-11== SEQUENCER ==Peter Schlaile
This fixes * some issues with Scene strips containing audio by removing the curpos pointer from sequence structure. (the same scene strip can now be used in a row) That also makes the code a lot cleaner. * fixed a corner case on the beginning of a strip, where audio was not mixed in, depending of current audio buffer state. * Also: made some hardwired variables macros to enhance readability. Problem remaining: mixing the same scene strip several times (read put it into a stack instead of into a row) has problems with HD-audio since the same HD-audio state structure is used and therefore the system will seek permanently, which leads to audio distortions...

svn merge https://svn.blender.org/svnroot/bf-blender/trunk/blender -r19820:HEAD Notes: * Game and sequencer RNA, and sequencer header are now out of date a bit after changes in trunk. * I didn't know how to port these bugfixes, most likely they are not needed anymore. * Fix "duplicate strip" always increase the user count for ipo. * IPO pinning on sequencer strips was lost during Undo.
2009-05-24== Sequencer ==Peter Schlaile
This adds custom proxy file storage to the sequencer. Reasoning: sometimes low resolution versions are already available as a seperate file built by the capture application. So there is no real reason to make blender build it's own seperate proxy. This also somewhat fixes (aehm works around :) ) [#13632] Creating Proxy Takes Over Process, Should be Background Since now you can just fire up ffmpeg to build your proxies in the background. (You could have done before and build a directory of jpeg files, but then you would have to rename all the files since otherwise things are off by one...)
2009-01-25* added operators SEQUENCER_OT_lock, unlock, reload, refresh_all, view_all, ↵Campbell Barton
view_selected. * sequencer transform now does overlap checks. * removed old transform functions from sequencer_edit.c * shuffle_seq moved to kernel, now moves strips to the end of the last sequence of itschannel (if all channels are used). 2.4x would remove the strip. * most of the 'Strip' menu items now call their operators in the header menu, some for view and select too.
2009-01-20Added back some functionality to the sequencerCampbell Barton
- removed static vars _last_seq, last_imagename and last_sounddir, replacing them with with vars in the "Editing" struct. didnt manage to get the active sequence to load so currently thats lost when loading. - removed flag SEQ_ACTIVE - Added operators cut, mute, unmute, deselect_all, select_invert, select, select_more, select_less, select_pick_linked, select_linked and borderselect.
