from main thread using job update callback. Added new execution-time callback to bNodeTree which marks job to be updated. The code here could be a bit not so obvious because in some cases job update callback need to merge local tree, but it's only needed for old compositor system which is gonna to be removed soon, so decided not to bother with cleanup now. Removing old compositor system will also allow to drop stats_draw callback from bNodeTree. This should fix following bugs:
2012-11-24remove USER_DISABLE_AA/use_antialiasing, this wasn't available from the UI ↵Campbell Barton
but would be confusing if someone had it set from an old file.
2012-11-24IK Solver:Brecht Van Lommel
* Rename Legacy to Standard, it's not being deprecated as far as I know. * Make option to toggle off Location solving work with Standard. * Make it converge a bit better in some cases by enforcing a minimum number of iterations before giving up. * Move IK solver choice out of bone panel, it's an armature level setting and should be set there.
2012-11-23Text Editor: remove text marker functionality. Patch [#33251]Justin Dailey
2012-11-20code cleanup: make bmesh operator names more consistant since python has ↵Campbell Barton
access to these as input arguments and return values. all output values currently have ".out" suffix, this may go in the future, but for now it makes it clear in C code what are inputs and outputs.
2012-11-20fix for changes in own recent commit:Campbell Barton
selected linked in face mode was crashing. (needs bmesh operator flags) also some style edits, remove unused includes and change triangulate modifiers use_beauty to a flag.
2012-11-20Triangulate modifierAntony Riakiotakis
Useful for bump map baking where a consistent triangulation should be enforced when baking/exporting/importing, to avoid artifacts caused by a different triangulation of the mesh by that which was used for baking by internal/external tools. documentation is here http://wiki.blender.org/index.php/Dev:Ref/Release_Notes/2.65/More_Features Will probably add some pictures too to demonstrate the issue that is solved more clearly. Currently using the skin modifier icon, will soon change that. Review by Brecht, thanks!

2012-11-11"Dynamic Sketch" patch, which adds timing data to GP strokes, by storing an ↵Bastien Montagne
inittime in each stroke (value returned by PIL_check_seconds_timer() func), and then a delta time for each of its points, relative to that inittime. These timing data can then be used during conversion to Curve objects, to create a path animation (i.e. an Evaluation Time F-Curve) exactly reproducing the drawing movements. Aside from this "main feature", the patch brings several fixes/enhancements: * Stroke smoothing/simplifying will no more move the start/end points of a stroke (this was rather annoying sometimes!). * Also optimized smoothing code (even though not really noticeable on a modern computer, it now uses less memory and runs faster). * When converting to curve, you now have the following new possibilities: ** Normalize the weight values (currently, they will get "stroke width * 0.1", i.e. would range by default from 0.0 to 0.3...). ** Scale the radius values to your liking (again, currently they are set from stroke width times 0.1)! ** Link all strokes into a single curve, using zero-radius sections (this is mandatory to use the dynamic feature!). Here is a small demo video: http://youtu.be/VwWEXrnQAFI Will update user manual later today.
2012-11-10Added UI support to set OpenGL MultiSample.Ton Roosendaal
Code to support it was lying around for long already, but not controlled by UI nicely. Now you have in user preferences "System" tab an option to set it. NOTE: - it only works saving as User startup.blend, and restart Blender. - your system should support it, no check for it is visible in UI - tested only on iMac OSX 10.7 Screenshot: http://www.blender.org/bf/chinchilla.blend.png
2012-11-10Fix part of #33132: render resoltuion refresh issues after persistent imagesBrecht Van Lommel
was added for cycles. This fixes the case where the option is disabled. I moved the option now to Blender itself and made it keep the engine around only when it's enabled. Also fixes case where there could be issues when switching to another renderer.

2012-11-09Axis Colours are now ThemeableJoshua Leung
This commit allows you to set the RGB <-> XYZ axis colours used for things like the mini axis indicator, grid axis indicators, manipulators, transform constraint indicators, F-Curves (when using XYZ to RGB colouring option), and perhaps something else I've missed. Previously, these places all used hardcoded defines (220 * i/j/k), but the readability of these colours was often quite poor, especially when used with certain themes. The settings for these colours can be found under the "User Interface" section of the themes (i.e. same set of colours is used across editors). I could have made these per editor, but since it's unlikely that these will need to be too different across editors in practice (+ being easier to version patch), they are stored under the UI section.
2012-11-09add a distance limit to the shrinkwrap modifiers project mode,Campbell Barton
it was problematic for vertices to fire rays out and hit some unrelated-far-off geometry which is often not what users want.
2012-11-08Fix #33113: cycles not rendering motion blur correct with dying particles.Brecht Van Lommel
There were a bunch of other issues with dupli motion blur and syncing, the problem being that there was no proper way to detect corresponding duplis between frames or updates. As a solution, a persistent_id was added to the DupliObject. It's an extension of the previous index value, with one index for each dupli level. This can be used to reliably find matching dupli objects between frames. Works with nested duplis, multiple particle systems, etc.
2012-11-08Added Map Taper option which if enabled maps affect of taper object onSergey Sharybin
actually beveled part of curve (previously affect of taper would have been clamped by start/end bevel factor) Here's an illustration: http://wiki.blender.org/uploads/5/5d/Blender2.65_CurveMapTaper.png
2012-11-07support for string parameters in OSL nodesDalai Felinto
for now subtype is not defined, but once we start parsing the metadata we can set texture inputs as FILEPATH also, it takes relative strings and convert to absolute for all strings (which is arguably a good solution, but should work for now)
2012-11-06Cycles: 4 new nodes.Brecht Van Lommel
* Tangent: generate a tangent direction for anisotropic shading. Can be either radial around X/Y/Z axis, or from a UV map. The default tangent for the anisotropic BSDF and geometry node is now always radial Z, for UV tangent use this node now. http://wiki.blender.org/index.php/Doc:2.6/Manual/Render/Cycles/Nodes/More#Tangent * Normal Map: generate a perturbed normal from an RGB normal map image. This is usually chained with an Image Texture node in the color input, to specify the normal map image. For tangent space normal maps, the UV coordinates for the image must match, and the image texture should be set to Non-Color mode to give correct results. http://wiki.blender.org/index.php/Doc:2.6/Manual/Render/Cycles/Nodes/More#Normal_Map * Refraction BSDF: for best results this node should be considered as a building block and not be used on its own, but rather mixed with a glossy node using a fresnel type factor. Otherwise it will give quite dark results at the edges for glossy refraction. http://wiki.blender.org/index.php/Doc:2.6/Manual/Render/Cycles/Nodes/Shaders#Refraction * Ambient Occlusion: controls the amount of AO a surface receives, rather than having just a global factor in the world. Note that this outputs a shader and not a color, that's for another time. http://wiki.blender.org/index.php/Doc:2.6/Manual/Render/Cycles/Nodes/Shaders#Ambient_Occlusion
2012-11-05Sequencer: input color space support for image and movie stripsSergey Sharybin
2012-11-05Use enums rather than defines for clips/tracking flags.Sergey Sharybin
Helps a lot when debugging.
2012-11-05Render engines: replace number of x/y tiles with tile sizeSergey Sharybin
Now tile size is setting up explicitly instead of using number of tiles. This allows better control over GPU performance, where having tiles aligned to specific size makes lots of sense. Still to come: need to update startup.blend to make tiles size 64x64.
2012-11-05Camera Tracking: allow fallback to reprojection resection by user demandSergey Sharybin
This fixes some "regressions" introduced in rev50781 which lead to much worse solution in some cases. Now it's possible to bring old behavior back. Perhaps it's more like temporal solution for time being smarter solution is found. But finding such a solution isn't so fast, so let's bring manual control over reprojection usage. But anyway, imo it's now nice to have a structure which could be used to pass different settings to the solver.
2012-11-04Node reroute cut operator update.Lukas Toenne
Cutting mulitple links with for inserting reroute nodes would previously insert only one reroute node for the first cut link. Now the operator will insert a reroute node for every link in the cut line. Also, if several links share the same input/output socket, it will insert only a single reroute node, which all affected links will then share.
2012-11-03Render API: shader script node for custom shaders.Brecht Van Lommel
* Shader script node added, which stores either a link to a text datablock or file on disk, and has functions to add and remove sockets. * Callback RenderEngine.update_script_node(self, node) added for render engines to compile the shader and update the node with new sockets. Thanks to Thomas, Lukas and Dalai for the implementation.
2012-10-30remove CD_POLYINDEX customdata layer:Campbell Barton
reported as [#29376] BMESH_TODO: remove tessface CD_ORIGINDEX layer for a single mesh there could be 3 origindex mappings stored, one on the polygons and 2 on the tessfaces. (CD_POLYINDEX and CD_ORIGINDEX). as Andrew suggests, now tessfaces (which are really a cache of polygons), using origindex to point to polygons on the same derived mesh, and polygons only store the original index values.
2012-10-30style cleanup & re-use DNA pad var with new collision group object settings.Campbell Barton
2012-10-30BGE: Adding support for Bullet's collision masks. Each object now has a ↵Mitchell Stokes
collision mask and a collision group. Object A and object B collide if object A's groups is in object B's mask and object B's group is in object A's mask. In other words, the group defines what the object is (collision wise) and the group defines what the object can collide with. The majority of this patch was provided by Kupoman with some edits from me and heavy testing by z0r.
2012-10-28style cleanupCampbell Barton
2012-10-25Internal node links are now cached in a per-node list, instead of being ↵Lukas Toenne
generated as a transient list that is returned from the callback and had to be freed by the caller. These internal links are used for muted nodes, disconnect operators and reroute nodes, to effectively replace the node with direct input-to-output links. Storing this list in the node has the advantage of requiring far fewer calls to the potentially expensive internal_connect callback. This was called on every node redraw ... Also it will allow Cycles to properly use the internal links for muted nodes, which ensures consistent behavior. The previous method was not applicable in Cycles because transient list return values are not supported well in the RNA and particularly the C++ API implementation.
2012-10-25Fix issue after commit 50282: float texture painting non-color data textures didBrecht Van Lommel
not do correct partial updates, now it remembers if the opengl texture is a non-color data texture or not and takes that into account for the update. Also includes some renaming ncd => is_data for consistency with color space terminology used elsewhere.

2012-10-23Sizeerror 8 fix for DecimateModifierDataSergey Sharybin
2012-10-23add option to planar decimator to collapse all verts that define face ↵Campbell Barton
boundries (verts that 2 faces share and have 2 edge users). avoids ugly stepping between faces when applying on curves surfaces. (but less useful for architectural style models)
2012-10-23add option for decimate-collapse to keep triangulated geometry (normally ↵Campbell Barton
quads stay as quads when not collapsed).
2012-10-23add limited dissolve as a decimation type to the decimate modifier.Campbell Barton
2012-10-23add un-subdivude as an optional method for the decimate modifier, gives more ↵Campbell Barton
even geometry & nicer results in some cases.
2012-10-22Fix #32522: Object's diffuse color not showing in Sculpt ModeSergey Sharybin
Added option to display object's diffuse color multiplied by sculpting mask. This option could be found in Options panel of toolshelf when in sculpting mode. Thanks to Nicholas and Brecht for reviewing the patch!
