2011-09-06Merged the particles-2010 branch with node improvements into trunk.Lukas Toenne
This branch adds mostly organizational improvements to the node system by renaming the node folders and files. A couple of internal features have been added too. Detailed information can be found on the wiki page: http://wiki.blender.org/index.php/User:Phonybone/Particles2010

2011-03-28- quiet new warnings with gcc 4.6Campbell Barton
- use BLI math funcs for normal float/short conversion. - correct some un-intentional float/double promotions.
2011-03-25fix [#26601] Python error when use of autocompleteCampbell Barton
Was a naming collision with 'keys' python method, reserve keys/items/values/get for python. Updated animsys_update.py for shapekey data paths. renamed: Particle.hair --> hair_keys Particle.keys --> particle_keys Key.keys --> key_blocks EnumProperty.items --> enum_items KeyMap.items --> keymap_items noted: http://wiki.blender.org/index.php/Dev:2.5/Py/API/Updates#Since_2.56a

2011-02-16enum-flag arguments were incorrectly documented.Campbell Barton
2011-01-25property lookups on structs was doing a listbase search even if the hash was ↵Campbell Barton
defined. since the property hash is maintained there is no reason for this, especially since the property could be in the StructRNA's parent class.
2011-01-07split BKE_utildefines.h, now it only has blender specific defines like GS() ↵Campbell Barton
MAKE_ID, FILE_MAXDIR, moved the generic defines to BLI_utildefines.h. no functional changes.
2011-01-05fix for py/rna mesh.materials[:] where empty materials exist, would raise a ↵Campbell Barton
runtime exception. problem was there was no way to tell the difference between getting an empty item from a collection or the item not being found.

2010-11-22bugfix [#23609] Lamp PointerPropertyCampbell Barton
2010-09-02bugfix [#23635] property limits don't work when added via scripting\Campbell Barton
also fix for bug where soft limits could be greater then hard limits with bpy.props.* functions.
2010-08-19- Properties from base classes are now registered too, this allows class ↵Campbell Barton
mix-in's to define properties. An example of how this is useful - an importer mixin could define the filepath properties and a generic invoke function which can run the subclasses exec for each selected file. - Panels and Menus now skip the property check when registering. - renamed _idproperties_ to _idprops_ in function names, function names were getting very long.
2010-08-18more rna renaming.Campbell Barton
2010-08-18rna renaming, still only adjusting properties that wont be animated (at ↵Campbell Barton
least its very unlikely).

2010-02-16bugfix [#21173] Autocompleate raises an errorCampbell Barton
split PropertyRNA off into 3 types, base type, collection and array, since array and collections needed internal checks inside almost every function its better to have the, as subclassed to the property type. This makes introspection more useful. Also made printing of structs and properties prettier giveing type and length.
2010-02-12correct fsf addressCampbell Barton
2010-02-11batch remove .'s used with RNA_def_struct_ui_textCampbell Barton

2010-01-24Forgot this (rename use_return to use_output)Elia Sarti
2010-01-24RNA functionsElia Sarti
Fixed and completed support for returning multiple values. This includes support for returning arrays, both fixed and dynamically sized. The way this is achieved is by storing an additional int value next to the dynamic parameter in the ParameterList stack which gets passed to the C function as an additional parameter. In the case of return parameters it is duty of the C function to set this int to the correct length value for the dynamic parameter (which makes sense). Note that for the dynamic output/return parameter it is assumed the function has allocated that memory (which gets freed automatically). Also, I cleaned the makesrna's bridge function generation code a bit and renamed PROP_RETURN to PROP_OUTPUT, which represents better the reality now that there are multiple returns. The function now to mark multiple returns (outputs) is RNA_def_function_output. For an example, look at Action.get_frame_range in rna_action_api.c, by the way Aligorith I removed the #ifdef for this function now that there's support for returning arrays, feel free to modify (the function seems to work).
2010-01-22- bugfix (user supplied fix) [#20745] makesrna with rename error.Campbell Barton

2009-12-02Changes to Color ManagementMatt Ebb
After testing and feedback, I've decided to slightly modify the way color management works internally. While the previous method worked well for rendering, was a smaller transition and had some advantages over this new method, it was a bit more ambiguous, and was making things difficult for other areas such as compositing. This implementation now considers all color data (with only a couple of exceptions such as brush colors) to be stored in linear RGB color space, rather than sRGB as previously. This brings it in line with Nuke, which also operates this way, quite successfully. Color swatches, pickers, color ramp display are now gamma corrected to display gamma so you can see what you're doing, but the numbers themselves are considered linear. This makes understanding blending modes more clear (a 0.5 value on overlay will not change the result now) as well as making color swatches act more predictably in the compositor, however bringing over color values from applications like photoshop or gimp, that operate in a gamma space, will give identical results. This commit will convert over existing files saved by earlier 2.5 versions to work generally the same, though there may be some slight differences with things like textures. Now that we're set on changing other areas of shading, this won't be too disruptive overall. I've made a diagram explaining the pipeline here: http://mke3.net/blender/devel/2.5/25_linear_workflow_pipeline.png and some docs here: http://www.blender.org/development/release-logs/blender-250/color-management/
2009-11-24- new pyrna api functions srna & prop path_to_id(), useful when setting ↵Campbell Barton
driver target paths. This means you can have a pose bone for eg and get the path... pose.bones["Bone"] uses rna internal functions, so will work for sequence strips etc. - StructRNA.get(), used for getting ID props without exceptions... val = C.object["someKey"] or.. val = C.object.get("someKey", "defaultValue") # wont raise an error - change rna property for testing if rna props are editable, test the flag rather then calling the function since the function depends on blenders state. - fix a python exception with the ID-Property popup UI (when editing in more then 1 step)
2009-11-18remove ID property lookups from rna..Campbell Barton
ob["foo"] = 1 print(ob.foo) # now raises an error
2009-11-13documentat & cross reference collection typesCampbell Barton
2009-11-13arbitrary property and function support for rna properties (arrays and ↵Campbell Barton
collections), this means functions can be easily added. eg. scene.objects.link() object.constraints.new() mesh.verts.transform(...) mesh.faces.active PropertyRNA stores an StructRNA pointer where these can be defined.
2009-10-14RNA:Brecht Van Lommel
* Enums with an _itemf callback now never get context NULL passed in, rather a fixed list of enum items are defined which should contain all items (if possible), from which the _itemf callback can then use a subset.
2009-10-14fixes for warnings and crashes during doc generationCampbell Barton
2009-09-22RNA: added a "factor" subtype next to "percentage", and only displayBrecht Van Lommel
% sign for percentage assuming it is between 0-100, while factor is for values 0-1. Move collision setting absorption from modifier to collision settings, was inconsistent to have it there as the only one, and made it have range 0.0-1.0 instead of 0-100.
2009-09-16RNABrecht Van Lommel
* PROP_NEVER_NULL is now a flag instead of a subtype. * It works for function parameters too now, so setting this flag can help avoid NULL checks in the function. * Renamed LocalLamp to PointLamp, making it consistent with the UI name. * Set icons for the different lamp struct types.
2009-09-15- new property attribute - default_array, which returns a variable size ↵Campbell Barton
array useful to get the defaults for operator & function arrays. - updated python api to check for array types rather then the length since a variable length array can be 1 or 0 length. - python docgen added .0 to the end of floats which messed up values like 1e-05
2009-09-09RNA: multidimensional & dyanmic array changesBrecht Van Lommel
* Disable setting array length of dynamic array for now, this was not implemented correct, and it's not really needed now. * Allow all dimensions to be dynamic size, not just the first. * Change storage of multidimensional to be simpler. * Rename API functions to be more compact. * Fix some bugs in the implementation. * RenderLayer.rect and RenderPass.rect use a multidimensional dynamic array now.
