2012-05-02Fix crash setting area.type from a context that not include the right window,Brecht Van Lommel
ideally this function should become context free, for now just trick it to execute in the right context.
2012-03-31move debug flag into its own global var (G.debug), split up debug options.Campbell Barton
--debug --debug-ffmpeg --debug-python --debug-events --debug-wm This makes debug output easier to read - event debug prints would flood output too much before. For convenience: --debug-all turns all debug flags on (works as --debug did before). also removed some redundant whitespace in debug prints and prefix some prints with __func__ to give some context.

2012-03-07patch [#30481] rna_Screen_scene_set does the wrong thing [patch]Campbell Barton
from Dan Eicher (dna) --- from the tracker Setting Screen.scene only uses the active screen through a call to CTX_wm_screen(C) instead of the actual referenced scene. The attached py-op demonstrates this behavior, assuming at least two separate scenes in the VSE.

2012-01-06Fix #29568: Blender restores deleted sceneSergey Sharybin
Special notifiers used for scene deletion which lead to undo pushes after SCENE_OT_delete operator happening with scene still present in the mainfile. That was a reason why operator redo used to restore scene. It's not so obvious why special notifier type is needed for scene set and deletion -- it confuses undo system without having some obvious advantages. Using "direct" scene deletion and setting seems to be working fine so let's see if there'll be some issues with this.
2011-11-07Camera tracking integrationSergey Sharybin
=========================== Commiting camera tracking integration gsoc project into trunk. This commit includes: - Bundled version of libmv library (with some changes against official repo, re-sync with libmv repo a bit later) - New datatype ID called MovieClip which is optimized to work with movie clips (both of movie files and image sequences) and doing camera/motion tracking operations. - New editor called Clip Editor which is currently used for motion/tracking stuff only, but which can be easily extended to work with masks too. This editor supports: * Loading movie files/image sequences * Build proxies with different size for loaded movie clip, also supports building undistorted proxies to increase speed of playback in undistorted mode. * Manual lens distortion mode calibration using grid and grease pencil * Supervised 2D tracking using two different algorithms KLT and SAD. * Basic algorithm for feature detection * Camera motion solving. scene orientation - New constraints to "link" scene objects with solved motions from clip: * Follow Track (make object follow 2D motion of track with given name or parent object to reconstructed 3D position of track) * Camera Solver to make camera moving in the same way as reconstructed camera This commit NOT includes changes from tomato branch: - New nodes (they'll be commited as separated patch) - Automatic image offset guessing for image input node and image editor (need to do more tests and gather more feedback) - Code cleanup in libmv-capi. It's not so critical cleanup, just increasing readability and understanadability of code. Better to make this chaneg when Keir will finish his current patch. More details about this project can be found on this page: http://wiki.blender.org/index.php/User:Nazg-gul/GSoC-2011 Further development of small features would be done in trunk, bigger/experimental features would first be implemented in tomato branch.

2011-02-02Bugfix [#25902] alt+a over 3D view don't up date dropesheet editorJoshua Leung
Migrating "redraws" settings from TimeLine view data to per Screen. The options are now still shown in the TimeLine "Playback" menu though. This means that whatever redraw settings you set in a TimeLine editor will be used throughout a screen (i.e. editor layout) to determine which editors will get updated during playback, instead of only certain editors doing certain things at vague times. --- Also, I moved some version patches pre 2.56 version bump into a version-check for 2.56. These must've been missed when doing the release...

not working anymore, relies on special notifiers.
2009-12-08RNA:Brecht Van Lommel
* Property update functions no longer get context, instead they get only Main and Scene. The RNA api was intended to be as context-less as possible, since it doesn't really matter who is changing the property, everything that uses the property should be updated. * There's still one exception case that use it now, screen operations still depend on context too much. It also revealed a few places using context where they shouldn't. * Ideally Scene shouldn't be passed, but much of Blender still depends on it, should be dropped when we try to support multiple scene editing. Change was planned for a while, but need this now to be able to call update without a context pointer.
2009-12-08Various changes to screen-related code, aiming to fix a few problems and ↵Matt Ebb
usability issues with 'temp' screen layouts. Now, temp screens are hidden from being accessed directly, with a new 'Back to Previous' button appearing in place of the screen menu when (for example) fullscreen render image areas are present. Window type menus also get disabled here too, to prevent things from getting too mixed up.

* PROP_NEVER_NULL is now a flag instead of a subtype. * It works for function parameters too now, so setting this flag can help avoid NULL checks in the function. * Renamed LocalLamp to PointLamp, making it consistent with the UI name. * Set icons for the different lamp struct types.
2009-08-162.5: RNA, added context.screen.animation_playing to detectBrecht Van Lommel

2009-07-16Console Space TypeCampbell Barton
* interactive console python console. * display reports and filter types. defaults to operator display so you can see the python commands for tools as you use them, eventually it should be possible to select commands and make macto/tools from them. Example use of autocomp. b<tab>, bpy.<tab>, bpy.<tab>, bpy.data.<tab> etc. basic instructions are printed when opening the console. Details... * Console exec and autocomp are done with operators written in python. * added CTX_wm_reports() to get the global report list. * The window manager had a report ListBase but reports have their own struct, switched to allocate and assign when initializing the WM since the type is not available in DNA. * changed report types flags for easier display filtering. * added report type RPT_OPERATOR * logging operators also adds a python-syntax report into CTX_wm_reports() so they can be displayed in the console as well as calling a notifier for console to redraw. * RnaAPI context.area.tag_redraw() to redraw the current area from a python operator. Todo... * better interactions with the console, scrolling, copy/paste. * the text displayed doesnt load back. * colors need to be themed. * scroll limit needs to be a user pref. * only tested with cmake and scons.
2009-07-022.5Ton Roosendaal
More toolbar functionality for workflow review. - Split the region in two parts, bottom has the Tool Properties, the top part shows 2 panels, one for python defined tools, other for a "tool shelf" which (later) will get saved in files. - Added a full context driven framework for this toolbar, showing the tools depending on 3D window 'mode'. Both python defined tools as the shelf respect this. So - for example - you will see different tools in editmode mesh, as in vertex paint mode, etc. - First template for the python tools will be committed after this commit; it has placeholder tools to just show/test functioning. NOTE: if you had saved a layout that shows tools region, open/close it once to get the new region created for properties. TODO: - Moving paint properties to tool settings - Test a layout with horizontal toolbar (without properties) - Bring back floating panels, and put tool-properties here. (as option)

* Add Image.dirty boolean. * Added Window struct, with editable Window.screen. * Make Screen.scene editable.
2009-06-16RNABrecht Van Lommel
* Added icon to property and enum property items. The latter is responsible for the large number of files changed. * For RNA functions, added PROP_RNAPTR flag to ask for a PointerRNA as argument instead of a C pointer, instead of doing it implicitly with the AnyType type. * Material: properly wrap diffuse/specular param variables, and rename some things for consistency. * MaterialTextureSlot: added "enabled" property (ma->septex). * Image: make animated property editable. * Image Editor: make some things editable, notifiers, respect state. * Context: fix issue with screen not being set as ID.
2009-06-04UI/RNA:Brecht Van Lommel
* Added an icon entry to RNA structs, instead of the UI_GetIconRNA function, to keep code together a bit more and make the lookup faster.
2009-05-15UI: Layout EngineBrecht Van Lommel
* Buttons are now created first, and after that the layout is computed. This means the layout engine now works at button level, and makes it easier to write templates. Otherwise you had to store all info and create the buttons later. * Added interface_templates.c as a separate file to put templates in. These can contain regular buttons, and can be put in a Free layout, which means you can specify manual coordinates, but still get nested correct inside other layouts. * API was changed to allow better nesting. Previously items were added in the last added layout specifier, i.e. one level up in the layout hierarchy. This doesn't work well in always, so now when creating things like rows or columns it always returns a layout which you have to add the items in. All py scripts were updated to follow this. * Computing the layout now goes in two passes, first estimating the required width/height of all nested layouts, and then in the second pass using the results of that to decide on the actual locations. * Enum and array buttons now follow the direction of the layout, i.e. they are vertical or horizontal depending if they are in a column or row. * Color properties now get a color picker, and only get the additional RGB sliders with Expand=True. * File/directory string properties now get a button next to them for opening the file browse, though this is not implemented yet. * Layout items can now be aligned, set align=True when creating a column, row, etc. * Buttons now get a minimum width of one icon (avoids squashing icon buttons). * Moved some more space variables into Style.
2009-04-22UIBrecht Van Lommel
* Headers and menus can now be created in python. * Replaced the uiMenuItem functions to create menus with equivalent uiItem functions using a layout, removing duplicated code. * More uiItem functions are now exposed to python. * The text editor header, panels and one of its menus are now created in space_text.py. * Buttons window data context icon new changes depending on active object. Issues * Icons are not wrapped yet, hardcoded ints at the moment. * The ID browse template is unfinished.
2009-04-19RNA: Generic Type RegistrationBrecht Van Lommel
The Python API to define Panels and Operators is based on subclassing, this makes that system more generic, and based on RNA. Hopefully that will make it easy to make various parts of Blender more extensible. * The system simply uses RNA properties and functions and marks them with REGISTER to make them part of the type registration process. Additionally, the struct must provide a register/unregister callback to create/free the PanelType or similar. * From the python side there were some small changes, mainly that registration now goes trough bpy.types.register instead of bpy.ui.addPanel. * Only Panels have been wrapped this way now. Check rna_ui.c to see how this code works. There's still some rough edges and possibilities to make it cleaner, though it works without any manual python code. * Started some docs here: http://wiki.blender.org/index.php/BlenderDev/Blender2.5/RNATypeRegistration * Also changed some RNA_property and RNA_struct functions to not require a PointerRNA anymore, where they were not required (which is actually the cause of most changed files).
2009-04-08RNA:Brecht Van Lommel
* Added the build system code to compile files named editors/*/*_api.c into the makesrna preprocessing. The reason to do this is to keep operators and API close together, but it doesn't fit well with the build system, especially Makefiles use an ugly hack here. * Some fixes to pass an RNA AnyType through the API, this will give a PointerRNA, for use in the interface code for example. * Added RNA wrapping of some UI template code as a test.
