Migrating "redraws" settings from TimeLine view data to per Screen.
The options are now still shown in the TimeLine "Playback" menu
though.
This means that whatever redraw settings you set in a TimeLine editor
will be used throughout a screen (i.e. editor layout) to determine
which editors will get updated during playback, instead of only
certain editors doing certain things at vague times.

Also, I moved some version patches pre 2.56 version bump into a
version-check for 2.56. These must've been missed when doing the
release...

also removed unnecessary NULL checks (where the pointer was used later without checking).

* Property update functions no longer get context, instead they get only
Main and Scene. The RNA api was intended to be as context-less as
possible, since it doesn't really matter who is changing the property,
everything that uses the property should be updated.
* There's still one exception case that use it now, screen operations
still depend on context too much. It also revealed a few places using
context where they shouldn't.
* Ideally Scene shouldn't be passed, but much of Blender still depends on
it, should be dropped when we try to support multiple scene editing.
Change was planned for a while, but need this now to be able to call
update without a context pointer.

usability issues with 'temp' screen layouts.
Now, temp screens are hidden from being accessed directly, with a new 'Back to Previous' button appearing in place of the screen menu when (for example) fullscreen render image areas are present. Window type menus also get disabled here too, to prevent things from getting too mixed up.

- Shift+F2 was Export DXF, made Logic Editor
- Shift+F4 was data browser, made console
- Shift+F11 was fullscreen in 2.5, changed fullscreen to Alt+F11
added Area.type so RNA can switch the type.

* PROP_NEVER_NULL is now a flag instead of a subtype.
* It works for function parameters too now, so setting
this flag can help avoid NULL checks in the function.
* Renamed LocalLamp to PointLamp, making it consistent
with the UI name.
* Set icons for the different lamp struct types.

animation playback.

* interactive console python console.
* display reports and filter types. defaults to operator display so you can see the python commands for tools as you use them,
eventually it should be possible to select commands and make macto/tools from them.
Example use of autocomp. b<tab>, bpy.<tab>, bpy.<tab>, bpy.data.<tab> etc.
basic instructions are printed when opening the console.
Details...
* Console exec and autocomp are done with operators written in python.
* added CTX_wm_reports() to get the global report list.
* The window manager had a report ListBase but reports have their own struct, switched to allocate and assign when initializing the WM since the type is not available in DNA.
* changed report types flags for easier display filtering.
* added report type RPT_OPERATOR
* logging operators also adds a python-syntax report into CTX_wm_reports() so they can be displayed in the console as well as calling a notifier for console to redraw.
* RnaAPI context.area.tag_redraw() to redraw the current area from a python operator.
Todo...
* better interactions with the console, scrolling, copy/paste.
* the text displayed doesnt load back.
* colors need to be themed.
* scroll limit needs to be a user pref.
* only tested with cmake and scons.

More toolbar functionality for workflow review.
- Split the region in two parts, bottom has the Tool Properties, the
top part shows 2 panels, one for python defined tools, other for a
"tool shelf" which (later) will get saved in files.
- Added a full context driven framework for this toolbar, showing
the tools depending on 3D window 'mode'. Both python defined tools
as the shelf respect this. So - for example - you will see different
tools in editmode mesh, as in vertex paint mode, etc.
- First template for the python tools will be committed after this commit;
it has placeholder tools to just show/test functioning.
NOTE: if you had saved a layout that shows tools region, open/close it
once to get the new region created for properties.
TODO:
- Moving paint properties to tool settings
- Test a layout with horizontal toolbar (without properties)
- Bring back floating panels, and put tool-properties here. (as option)

* Add Image.dirty boolean.
* Added Window struct, with editable Window.screen.
* Make Screen.scene editable.
|
|
* Added icon to property and enum property items. The latter is
responsible for the large number of files changed.
* For RNA functions, added PROP_RNAPTR flag to ask for a PointerRNA
as argument instead of a C pointer, instead of doing it implicitly
with the AnyType type.
* Material: properly wrap diffuse/specular param variables, and
rename some things for consistency.
* MaterialTextureSlot: added "enabled" property (ma->septex).
* Image: make animated property editable.
* Image Editor: make some things editable, notifiers, respect state.
* Context: fix issue with screen not being set as ID.
|
|
* Added an icon entry to RNA structs, instead of the UI_GetIconRNA
function, to keep code together a bit more and make the lookup
faster.
|
|
* Buttons are now created first, and after that the layout is computed.
This means the layout engine now works at button level, and makes it
easier to write templates. Otherwise you had to store all info and
create the buttons later.
* Added interface_templates.c as a separate file to put templates in.
These can contain regular buttons, and can be put in a Free layout,
which means you can specify manual coordinates, but still get nested
correct inside other layouts.
* API was changed to allow better nesting. Previously items were added
in the last added layout specifier, i.e. one level up in the layout
hierarchy. This doesn't work well in always, so now when creating things
like rows or columns it always returns a layout which you have to add
the items in. All py scripts were updated to follow this.
* Computing the layout now goes in two passes, first estimating the
required width/height of all nested layouts, and then in the second
pass using the results of that to decide on the actual locations.
* Enum and array buttons now follow the direction of the layout, i.e.
they are vertical or horizontal depending if they are in a column or row.
* Color properties now get a color picker, and only get the additional
RGB sliders with Expand=True.
* File/directory string properties now get a button next to them for
opening the file browse, though this is not implemented yet.
* Layout items can now be aligned, set align=True when creating a column,
row, etc.
* Buttons now get a minimum width of one icon (avoids squashing icon
buttons).
* Moved some more space variables into Style.
|
|
* Headers and menus can now be created in python.
* Replaced the uiMenuItem functions to create menus with equivalent
uiItem functions using a layout, removing duplicated code.
* More uiItem functions are now exposed to python.
* The text editor header, panels and one of its menus are now created
in space_text.py.
* Buttons window data context icon new changes depending on active
object.
Issues
* Icons are not wrapped yet, hardcoded ints at the moment.
* The ID browse template is unfinished.

The Python API to define Panels and Operators is based on subclassing,
this makes that system more generic, and based on RNA. Hopefully that
will make it easy to make various parts of Blender more extensible.
* The system simply uses RNA properties and functions and marks them
with REGISTER to make them part of the type registration process.
Additionally, the struct must provide a register/unregister callback
to create/free the PanelType or similar.
* From the python side there were some small changes, mainly that
registration now goes trough bpy.types.register instead of
bpy.ui.addPanel.
* Only Panels have been wrapped this way now. Check rna_ui.c to see
how this code works. There's still some rough edges and possibilities
to make it cleaner, though it works without any manual python code.
* Started some docs here:
http://wiki.blender.org/index.php/BlenderDev/Blender2.5/RNATypeRegistration
* Also changed some RNA_property and RNA_struct functions to not
require a PointerRNA anymore, where they were not required (which
is actually the cause of most changed files).
|
|
* Added the build system code to compile files named
editors/*/*_api.c into the makesrna preprocessing.
The reason to do this is to keep operators and API
close together, but it doesn't fit well with the build
system, especially Makefiles use an ugly hack here.
* Some fixes to pass an RNA AnyType through the API,
this will give a PointerRNA, for use in the interface
code for example.
* Added RNA wrapping of some UI template code as a test.

- Register python panels
- Added a generic class checking function BPY_class_validate() for panels/operators.
- No button drawing yet
Brecht, Added RNA_enum_value_from_id() and RNA_enum_id_from_value() to rna_access.c to do lookups between identifiers and values of EnumPropertyItem's, Not sure if these should go here.

|
* RNA_blender.h is now generated along with the other files. It is not
used anywhere yet, and still located quite hidden next to the other
rna_*_gen.c files. Read only access for now.
* Inherited properties are not copied from the base anymore but
iterated over. Patch by Vekoon, thanks!
* Array get/set callbacks now do the whole array instead of getting an
index. This is needed for some layers for example so python can set
the array as a whole, otherwise the check that one layer has to be
enabled at all times gets in the way. Also nicer for the C API.
* Also some changes to returning pointers to make the API cleaner, got
rid of the type() callback and instead let get() return PointerRNA
with the type included.
The C API looks like this currently:
http://users.pandora.be/blendix/RNA_blender.h
|
|
* Work around bScreen/Screen DNA name patching, so bScreen does not
require manual callbacks to be written for properties.
* Added SpaceLink and SpaceImage RNA.
* Fix issue initializing ID property arrays with default values.
DNA
* Some DNA changes for space image.
* And a fix for corrupt clone image pointer in reading brushes.
|
|
* Finished DNA_lamp_types.h, DNA_world_types.h and DNA_sound_types.h.
* Renamed "parent" struct property to "nested", and also remaining "from"
usage to "base".
* Added a NEVER_NULL subtype for pointers and use it for all properties
that apply.
* Make sure all structs have a description, and fix any other DOC_BROKEN
descriptions, also many other naming consistency improvements.
|
|
accessible via python)
Many descriptions are not written, grep for DOC_BROKEN if you have some spare time to write struct descriptions.
|
|
- maybe this will be phased out anyway, but might be handy for querying though.
