2019-02-01Cleanup: remove redundant, invalid info from headersCampbell Barton
BF-admins agree to remove header information that isn't useful, to reduce noise. - BEGIN/END license blocks Developers should add non license comments as separate comment blocks. No need for separator text. - Contributors This is often invalid, outdated or misleading especially when splitting files. It's more useful to git-blame to find out who has developed the code. See P901 for script to perform these edits.
2019-01-26Cleanup: remove redundant BKE/BLI/BIF headersCampbell Barton
2019-01-22Fix T60722: decimate modifier not working in some cases.Philipp Oeser
2018-12-21Fix T59708: decimate modifier does not show face count before decimation.Brecht Van Lommel
2018-12-20Fix T57777: Decimate modifier face count does not workJacques Lucke
Reviewers: brecht Differential Revision: https://developer.blender.org/D4106
2018-10-24Cleanup: Remove unused modifiers callbackSergey Sharybin
Was only used by subsurf in the past years, it is unlikely other modifiers will every need this any time soon.
2018-10-23Fix bad origindex layers for editmode modifiersCampbell Barton
Reverts workaround from last commit.
2018-10-10Modifier: use simplified bmesh -> mesh conversionCampbell Barton
2018-10-09Cleanup: namingCampbell Barton
Use BKE_mesh_* prefix for mesh module.
2018-06-29Cleanup: naming in MOD_utils.Bastien Montagne
2018-05-12Merge branch 'master' into blender2.8Campbell Barton
2018-05-12Cleanup: modifier arg wrappingCampbell Barton
2018-05-11Modifiers: ported Decimate DerivedMesh → MeshChristian Hubert
Two things to indicate (which als apply before the DM → M port): - Face count in the UI is not updated and stays at 0 - When planar mode is used, the result is inverted (mirrored along X) compared to 2.79 Reviewers: sybren Differential Revision: https://developer.blender.org/D3303
2018-05-08Merge branch 'master' into blender2.8Bastien Montagne
2018-05-08Cleanup: Nuke empty dummy wrappers around modifier_copyData_generic().Bastien Montagne
This also changes signature of modifier copy callback, first (source) parameter is now a const, which is saner anyway!
2018-05-01Extract common modifier parameters into ModifierEvalContext structSybren A. Stüvel
The contents of the ModifierEvalContext struct are constant while iterating over the modifier stack. The struct thus should be only created once, outside any loop over the modifiers.
2018-05-01Modifiers: Add wrapper functions with Mesh / DerivedMesh conversionMai Lavelle
Makes the follow changes: - Add new `deform*` and `apply*` function pointers to `ModifierTypeInfo` that take `Mesh`, and rename the old functions to indicate that they take `DerivedMesh`. These new functions are currently set to `NULL` for all modifiers. - Add wrapper `modifier_deform*` and `modifier_apply*` functions in two variants: one that works with `Mesh` and the other which works with `DerivedMesh` that is named with `*_DM_depercated`. These functions check which type of data the modifier supports and converts if necessary - Update the rest of Blender to be aware and make use of these new functions The goal of these changes is to make it possible to port to using `Mesh` incrementally without ever needing to enter into a state where modifiers don't work. After everything has been ported over the old functions and wrappers could be removed. 2018-04-16Depsgraph: remove EvaluationContext, pass Depsgraph instead.Brecht Van Lommel
The depsgraph was always created within a fixed evaluation context. Passing both risks the depsgraph and evaluation context not matching, and it complicates the Python API where we'd have to expose both which is not so easy to understand. This also removes the global evaluation context in main, which assumed there to be a single active scene and view layer. Differential Revision: https://developer.blender.org/D3152
2018-01-18Merge branch 'master' into blender2.8Brecht Van Lommel
2018-01-18Fix buffer overflow vulnerabilities in mesh code.Brecht Van Lommel
Solves these security issues from T52924: CVE-2017-12081 CVE-2017-12082 CVE-2017-12086 CVE-2017-12099 CVE-2017-12100 CVE-2017-12101 CVE-2017-12105 While the specific overflow issue may be fixed, loading the repro .blend files may still crash because they are incomplete and corrupt. The way they crash may be impossible to exploit, but this is difficult to prove. Differential Revision: https://developer.blender.org/D3002
2017-08-16Pass EvaluationContext instead of bContextCampbell Barton
2.8x branch added bContext arg in many places, pass eval-context instead since its not simple to reason about what what nested functions do when they can access and change almost anything. Also use const to prevent unexpected modifications. This fixes crash loading files with shadows, since off-screen buffers use a NULL context for rendering.
2017-07-21Pass EvaluationContext argument everywhereLuca Rood
Note that some little parts of code have been dissabled because eval_ctx was not available there. This should be resolved once DerivedMesh is replaced.
2017-01-24Depsgraph: Remove legacy updateDepgraph callbacks from modifiersSergey Sharybin
2015-11-18BMesh: symmetry aware decimateCampbell Barton
Support for decimating while maintaining symmetry on a single axis.
2015-06-05BMesh: decimator, allow vgroup factor over 1Campbell Barton
Can be useful to apply more extreme weighting
2015-06-04BMesh decimate, improve behavior with weightsCampbell Barton
Add slider to adjust the influence of weights relative to geometry distortion. This allows subtle influences to be applied - without drastic changes in behavior.
2015-05-12Depsgraph: New dependency graph integration commitSergey Sharybin
This commit integrates the work done so far on the new dependency graph system, where goal was to replace legacy depsgraph with the new one, supporting loads of neat features like: - More granular dependency relation nature, which solves issues with fake cycles in the dependencies. - Move towards all-animatable, by better integration of drivers into the system. - Lay down some basis for upcoming copy-on-write, overrides and so on. The new system is living side-by-side with the previous one and disabled by default, so nothing will become suddenly broken. The way to enable new depsgraph is to pass `--new-depsgraph` command line argument. It's a bit early to consider the system production-ready, there are some TODOs and issues were discovered during the merge period, they'll be addressed ASAP. But it's important to merge, because it's the only way to attract artists to really start testing this system. There are number of assorted documents related on the design of the new system: * http://wiki.blender.org/index.php/User:Aligorith/GSoC2013_Depsgraph#Design_Documents * http://wiki.blender.org/index.php/User:Nazg-gul/DependencyGraph There are also some user-related information online: * http://code.blender.org/2015/02/blender-dependency-graph-branch-for-users/ * http://code.blender.org/2015/03/more-dependency-graph-tricks/ Kudos to everyone who was involved into the project: - Joshua "Aligorith" Leung -- design specification, initial code - Lukas "lukas_t" Toenne -- integrating code into blender, with further fixes - Sergey "Sergey" "Sharybin" -- some mocking around, trying to wrap up the project and so - Bassam "slikdigit" Kurdali -- stressing the new system, reporting all the issues and recording/writing documentation. - Everyone else who i forgot to mention here :)
2015-04-20Cleanup: use bool /w flag checksCampbell Barton
2014-11-29Cleanup: unused headersCampbell Barton
2014-01-23Cleanup: int/short to bool in BKE_cdderivedmesh.h functions (and TRUE/FALSE ↵Bastien Montagne
to true/false in code using them).
2013-12-21Mesh Modifiers: refactor copying using a generic functionCampbell Barton
2013-10-28move bmesh array lookup data and utility functions from editmesh into bmesh,Campbell Barton
since enough bmesh operations can also take advantage of direct index lookups on verts/edges/faces. developers note: - EDBM_index_arrays_init/ensure/free -> BM_mesh_elem_table_ensure/init/free - EDBM_vert/edge/face_at_index -> BM_vert/edge/face_at_index - EDBM_uv_element_map_create/free -> BM_uv_element_map_create/free - ED_uv_element_get -> BM_uv_element_get
2013-09-04move timeit macros into their own include, since they are only used for ↵Campbell Barton
testing and unrelated to PIL_time.h typical use.
2013-08-23move bmesh tools into their own include,Campbell Barton
changes to tool args would rebuild far too many files and these are mainly by modifiers outside of bmesh.
2013-08-06fix for using uninitialized boolean vars for mask select more/lessCampbell Barton
2013-06-03fix [#35311] Planar Decimate / Limited Dissolve fails to merge some adjacent ↵Campbell Barton
faces optionally limit by face flipping, also added support to delimit by material and edge crease.
2013-06-03fix [#35555] Collada: export destroys mesh in some casesCampbell Barton
add arguments to calculate normals when converting to bmesh: BM_mesh_bm_from_me, DM_to_bmesh This gives some speedup to undo (which didnt need to re-calculate vertex normals), and array modifier which doesnt need to calculate face normals at all
2013-06-02corrections to modifiers from recent normal handling changesCampbell Barton
- solidify didn't define a dependsOnNormals callback (which it should have) - build wasn't passing on dirty normals. - decimate wasnt setting dirty normals.
2013-01-03change limited dissolve angle limit default from 15 -> 5 deg. since 15deg is ↵Campbell Barton
quite high for 2 surfaces to be considered co-planar
2012-12-12use openmp to thread some common bmesh operationsCampbell Barton
- BM_mesh_elem_toolflags_ensure / bmo_flag_layer_alloc / bmo_flag_layer_free / bmo_flag_layer_clear - BM_mesh_select_flush - EDBM_index_arrays_init notes: - mostly use openmp `sections` to split operations on vert/edge/face since this is a fairly minor change. - split tool flag pool in 3, this means we can allocate exact sizes needed and iterate on them in threads without alloc'ing.
2012-11-28fix [#33320] Decimate modifer in collapse is inconsistent when limiting to a ↵Campbell Barton
vertex group
2012-11-18bmesh: lazy initialize bmesh tool flag pool, has the advantage that ↵Campbell Barton
modifiers that dont use bmesh operators can skip allocating it.
2012-10-27A few more BMesh errors messages translated, and "automated" translation for ↵Bastien Montagne
modifers too!
2012-10-24add CDDM_from_bmesh(), avoids using BMEditMesh in modifiers.Campbell Barton
2012-10-24enable decimate modifier for curves.Campbell Barton
2012-10-23use min_ max_ functions in more places.Campbell Barton
also fix minor error in MOD decimate when the modifier did nothing the reported face count would be wrong.
2012-10-23code cleanup: remove $Id's that crept back in, also osl style editsCampbell Barton
2012-10-23fix for issues in new decimatorCampbell Barton
- when an edge exists across a quad, dont attempt to triangulate it. (such a case isn't so common anyway) - silly mistake when checking if anything needed to be done in the modifier, percent was being checked for 1.0 even when not used.
2012-10-23add option to planar decimator to collapse all verts that define face ↵Campbell Barton
boundries (verts that 2 faces share and have 2 edge users). avoids ugly stepping between faces when applying on curves surfaces. (but less useful for architectural style models)
2012-10-23add option for decimate-collapse to keep triangulated geometry (normally ↵Campbell Barton
quads stay as quads when not collapsed).
