replaces another so it can do updates (e.g. dopesheet editor can
sync channel selection).
Also coded a simple optimization for allocating small objects,
based on mempools. It's #ifdef'd out, you can enabled it by
defining OPTIMIZE_SMALL_BLOCKS (e.g. adding -DDOPTIMIZE_SMALL_BLOCKS to
your compiler flags).
We suffer from a great deal of performance loss from the system allocator
(vgroups, ghash, edgehash, the singly-linked list implementation in blenlib,
editmesh, and likely a great many areas I'm forgetting), and this is the
common solution for handling the many-small-objects problem. It's not
really production-ready yet (it's long-term memory consequencers need to
be profiled first, and the implementation tweaked as necassary), but for
people on systems with slow system allocators it's worth trying.
Note that since this creates a guardedalloc<->blenlib link, the build systems
need to be updated accordingly (I've already done this for scons, though I'm
not sure if the player builds).

property if it wasnt found.
this is too arbitrary and could break if roperty order is changed.
store the property in the operator type that is to be used for menu and enum search func's.
python function for searching operator enums on invoke. (just need dynamic python enums now)

Seemed simple but actually turned out to be quite complex.
ND_MODE notifier was being misused, changed to ND_TOOLSETTINGS
Note: Although the fix itself doesn't involve this much, debugging uncovered
that listeners can't rely on notifier->swinid to be correct, since notifiers can
now be added from RNA without a region context.

Don't limit lasso to 1024 points, just realloc array with increased size when current limit is reached.
Also silence two stupid warnings.

Highlights:
* Support for Multi-Target Variables
This was the main reason for this recode. Previously, variables could only be used to give some RNA property used as an input source to the driver a name. However, this meant that effects such as Rotational Difference couldn't be used in conjunction with other effects and/or settings to achieve the powerful results. Now, a variable can take several input targets, perform some interesting operations on them, and spit out a representative value based on that.
* New Variable Types
With the introduction of multi-target variables, there are now 3 types of variable that can be used: single property (i.e. the only type previously), Rotational Difference (angle between two bones), and Distance (distance between two objects or bones).
* New Driver Types
In addition to the existing 'Average', 'Sum', and 'Expression' types, there is now the additional options of 'Minimum' and 'Maximum'. These take the smallest/largest value that one of the variables evaluates to.
* Fix for Driver F-Curve colouring bug
Newly added drivers did not get automatically coloured in the Graph Editor properly. Was caused by inappropriate notifiers being used.
Notes:
* This commit breaks existing 2.5 files with drivers (in other words, they are lost forever).
* Rigify has been corrected to work with the new system. The PyAPI for accessing targets used for the variables could still be made nicer (using subclassing to directly access?), but that is left for later.
* Version patching for 2.49 files still needs to be put back in place.

introduced one in wmWindow.last_click_time. Moved this to the wmEvent
struct, which now no is in DNA, was needed for RNA wrapping but not
needed anymore.

by 'ThatHaze'. thanks!
|
|
Timeout between both clicks is user configurable, should be taken from the OS when possible.
|
|
* Sound strips now respect metastrips for muting. That means they
are muted if the metastrip is muted, and don't play when located
outside of the current metastrip.
* Operators now use notifiers instead of redraw tagging, added a
separate notifier for selection as well, but that is not used to
do less redraws yet.
|
|
changes, specifically ND_ID_RENAME for ID renaming. Done for outliner, 3d view and properties editor.
|
|
same type, redo handlers with CLICK value (this means you can "click" key events too).
Leftmouse+Ctrl to extrude now mapped to Click instead of Release. Release was used to avoid conflict with lasso, but it isn't safe with modal operators that use Press to confirm (subsequent Release then extruded). Click is semantically closer to what we want here.

Now the rna path to nodes happens via the node name, which is ensured to be unique via RNA.
As part of this, the node->username string has been removed, upon renaming the node itself it takes care of making sure it's unique (like bones, constraints, etc). There's currently no interactive rename tool, but you can do it via the datablocks editor.
- plus a few notifier tweaks, using the newer NC_NODE notifier to refresh graph editor etc.
|

scene layer or other 3d view layers were changed.

split up notifier in redraw/refresh.

Auto save is now working again in 2.5. It will also remember now what
the location of the original file was when recovering it, so that
library links still work and saving the restored file does not save to
the temp directory. There is also a new Recover Auto Save operator
which will open the filebrowser in the temp directory and show the
auto saved .blends.
Implemenation Notes:
* Timer storage was moved from window to windowmanager, so we can have
windowmanager level timers too now, doesn't make sense to have
autosave timer attached to a particular window.
* FileGlobal now has a filename field storing where the file was saved.
Note that this is only used when loading a file through the recover
operators, regular file read doesn't use it, so copying the quit.blend
manually over the original file will still work as expected.
* Jobs timer no longer uses operator now, this seems more like an
internal thing, changing keymaps should not make it possible to break
the jobs manager.
* Autosave is postponed by 10 seconds when a modal operator is running,
e.g. transform or file browsing.
* Moved setting G.sce in setup_app_data before depsgraph updates, these
can use the filename for pointcaches.
|
|
OPTYPE_BLOCKING flag for that.
It will check if either the operator or operator type flags are set on top of the user preference before grabbing the pointer.
I've set that flag for 3d view navigation operators, others should be set too (no transform, I'll deal with that one).

Editors Modules
* render/ module added in editors, moved the preview render code there and
also shading related operators.
* physics/ module made more consistent with other modules. renaming files,
making a single physics_ops.c for operators and keymaps. Also move all
particle related operators here now.
* space_buttons/ now should have only operators relevant to the buttons
specificially.
Updates & Notifiers
* Material/Texture/World/Lamp can now be passed to DAG_id_flush_update,
which will go back to a callback in editors. Eventually these should
be in the depsgraph itself, but for now this gives a unified call for
doing updates.
* GLSL materials are now refreshed on changes. There's still various
cases missing,
* Preview icons now hook into this system, solving various update cases
that were missed before.
* Also fixes issue in my last commit, where some preview would not render,
problem is avoided in the new system.
Icon Rendering
* On systems with support for non-power of two textures, an OpenGL texture
is now used instead of glDrawPixels. This avoids problems with icons get
clipped on region borders. On my Linux desktop, this gives an 1.1x speedup,
and on my Mac laptop a 2.3x speedup overall in redrawing the full window,
with the default setup. The glDrawPixels implementation on Mac seems to
have a lot of overhread.
* Preview icons are now drawn using proper premul alpha, and never faded so
you can see them clearly.
* Also tried to fix issue with texture node preview rendering, globals can't
be used with threads reliably.
|
|
- last commit, missed include for rna_object_api.c & bad args to find_basis_mball
- use enum for GHOST tablet type None/Stylus/Eraser, had duplicate definition for these in C. Only tested X11, may need to cast to an int for other OS's.

Notifiers
---------
Various fixes for wrong use of notifiers, and some new notifiers
to make things a bit more clear and consistent, with two notable
changes:
* Geometry changes are now done with NC_GEOM, rather than
NC_OBJECT|ND_GEOM_, so an object does need to be available.
* Space data now use NC_SPACE|ND_SPACE_*, instead of data
notifiers or even NC_WINDOW in some cases. Note that NC_SPACE
should only be used for notifying about changes in space data,
we don't want to go back to allqueue(REDRAW..).
Depsgraph
---------
The dependency graph now has a different flush call:
DAG_object_flush_update(scene, ob, flag)
is replaced by:
DAG_id_flush_update(id, flag)
It still works basically the same, one difference is that it now
also accepts object data (e.g. Mesh), again to avoid requiring an
Object to be available. Other ID types will simply do nothing at
the moment.
Docs
----
I made some guidelines for how/when to do which kinds of updates
and notifiers. I can't specify totally exact how to make these
decisions, but these are basically the guidelines I use. So, new
and updated docs are here:

* Realtime updates now work again
* Fixed problems with clicks to start drawing resulting in a stroke being ended.
* Changed the hotkeys to Ctrl-Alt-Shift-LMB (draw) and Ctrl-Alt-Shift-RMB (erase). Still very temporary stuff, will probably change these a few more times as I experiment with new approaches.
|
|
than expected time, even when it could keep up. Changed the WM
timer logic a bit to always target the next frame time exactly,
|
|
* Converted vertex paint to use the new stroke system. Now supports the same smooth stroke and stroke spacing as sculpt mode.
* Refactored the paint cursor a bit, just sculpt for now but other modes soon.
* A couple warning fixes
|
|
Implementation:
* NC_SCENE or NC_OBJECT cause scene->stats to be cleared.
* NC_INFO is sent to tag info headers for redraw.
* In UI scene.statistics() creates scene->stats if it is
NULLd, and then returns the string.
|
|
* Fix header menu spacing bug, and make it consistent for all headers.
* For consistency, always put menus first in the header, then any enums
to switch the type of data displayed.
* Node editor header ported to python layout. Still quite a few
operators missing to make the menus complete.
* RNA wrapped node editor, and added use_nodes property to material
and scene.
|
|
Implementation Note:
* Moved the scene copy/unlink code back into blenkernel, with
the exception of the copy single user stuff which is still in
object_edit.c.
* Uses SCREENDELETE notifier like SCREENBROWSE, seems only clean
way to do this now.

Operator goodies!
--- Macro operators
Operators now can consist of multiple operators. Such a macro operator
is identical and behaves identical to other opererators. Macros can
also be constructed of macros even! Currently only hardcoded macros are
implemented, this to solve combined operators such as 'add duplicate' or
'extrude' (both want a transform appended).
Usage is simple:
- WM_operatortype_append_macro() : add new operatortype, name, flags
- WM_operatortype_macro_define() : add existing operator to macro
(Note: macro_define will also allow properties to be set, doesnt work
right now)
On converting the macro wmOperatorType to a real operator, it makes a
list of all operators, and the standard macro callbacks (exec, invoke,
modal, poll) just will use all.
Important note; switching to a modal operator only works as last in the
chain now!
Macros implemented for duplicate, extrude and rip. Tool menu works fine
for it, also the redo hotkey F4 works properly.
--- Operator redo fix
The operators use the undo system to switch back, but this could give
errors if other actions added undo pushes (buttons, outliner). Now the
redo for operator searches back for the correct undo level.
This fixes issues with many redos.
Note for brecht: removed the ED_undo_push for buttons... it was called
on *every* button now, which is probably too much? For example, using
the 'toolbar' redo also caused this...
|
|
* fix some notifiers, so directory is correctly shown
|
|
Bugfixes:
* crash when loading file that has filebrowser open
* file size over 2GB/4GB? shows negative number
Other:
* tried to improve drawing speed a bit by only drawing the files actually shown and improving refresh behaviour a bit.
Note: Solution I found so far is to use the non-standard _stat64, as far as I could see, WIN64 should work without that patch (Genscher, please check and if needed you can enable this too by removing the !defined(WIN64) )
This probably needs to be fixed in at least one other place (BLI_filesize), will look into this once this fix proves stable enough)

* interactive console python console.
* display reports and filter types. defaults to operator display so you can see the python commands for tools as you use them,
eventually it should be possible to select commands and make macto/tools from them.
Example use of autocomp. b<tab>, bpy.<tab>, bpy.<tab>, bpy.data.<tab> etc.
basic instructions are printed when opening the console.
Details...
* Console exec and autocomp are done with operators written in python.
* added CTX_wm_reports() to get the global report list.
* The window manager had a report ListBase but reports have their own struct, switched to allocate and assign when initializing the WM since the type is not available in DNA.
* changed report types flags for easier display filtering.
* added report type RPT_OPERATOR
* logging operators also adds a python-syntax report into CTX_wm_reports() so they can be displayed in the console as well as calling a notifier for console to redraw.
* RnaAPI context.area.tag_redraw() to redraw the current area from a python operator.
Todo...
* better interactions with the console, scrolling, copy/paste.
* the text displayed doesnt load back.
* colors need to be themed.
* scroll limit needs to be a user pref.
* only tested with cmake and scons.
|
|
* Cursor grabbing is now done only if the OPTYPE_BLOCKING flag
is set for the operator, since for e.g. render it should not
block.
|

I've gone through all the Animation Editor operators, making sure they send appropriate notifiers, and that these notifiers are handled.
* Added a separate category for animation-related notifiers, since the old-style ones attached to specific datatypes only was turning out to be not too feasible.
* For now, the focus has been on making sure that all Animation Editors update when there have been any potentially suitable changes at all. Later on, we can filter these more carefully to only take the ones we really need (for optimisation purposes)

Note to self: the next merge will be messy again, since 2 commits occurred this one was complete
|
|
* 2 new enums event_value_items and event_type_items in RNA_enum_types.h
* WM_key_event_string now uses an RNA enum lookup rather then its own switch statement.
* moved wmEvent from WM_types.h into DNA_windowmanager_types.h
* added RNA_enum_identifier and RNA_enum_name to get strings from an enum value.

eg, layout.operator_context = 'INVOKE_REGION_WIN'
Needed to set the context that menu item operators are executed in.
fixed missing NULL check with anim system debug printing.

Nice goodie: Preview renders!
- Added new preview.blend, allowing super wide cinemascope previews
- Draws nicely blended inside widget type, rounded corners
- Preview now renders using all available cpus/cores.
- Uses - hopefully rock stable - method, which doesn't copy or
allocate anything for previews, but just uses render API calls.
- Multiple previews are possible! But, added provision in Jobs
manager to only render one preview job at a time. If you start
more preview jobs, they're suspended until it's their turn.
Bugfix: new buttons context code crashed when going full-window.
Tweaks are still needed for notifiers. I have to figure out still
how to retrieve SpaceButs button view types...
|
|
-Many things not yet working properly :)
-Experimental new (hopefully more logical) categorization of buttons, feedback on this is very welcome.
-Separate render & draw types, for example now there is actually a render option "halo" instead of all the different point draw types.
-Particles get recalculated only from buttons that actually change something that has to be recalculated, for example changing visualization doesn't reset particles any more.
-Boid physics buttons are still missing as I'm currently redoing the whole boids code.
-Point caching is still very wip, so baking is not possible for example, but I added a few cache baking flags for rna that were/will be needed for particle buttons logic.
|
|
* Added Constraints template and Add Constraint operator.
* Added toggle=True/False parameter to uiItemR, to get a
toggle button (actual button) rather than an "option"
button (checkbox)
* Added OPTION/OPTIONN button type, to distinguish with
TOG/TOGN.
RNA:
* Make all modifier pointers editable, including correct updates.
* Added notifiers and updates to constraints.
* Fix a stack corruption, pointed out by Andrea, and potentially
causing crashes.

Animation playback back in control. And non-blocking still!
- Play follows the "Playback" options in TimeLine menu.
Only the region 'windows' are drawn, not headers, toolbars,
channel views, etc.
The option "Buttons Window" also redraws property regions.
- The Timeline header always redraws, this to denote at least
progressing frame numbers
- For now: if you choose to play 3D views, it also redraws
the TimeLine. Seems to be good convention, but probably
better to add menu option for it?
- Fun test: while playback, change Playback options, works OK!
- New: top header button shows animation play status, and allows
to stop playback
- New: Animation stop/start operator. Assigned to ALT+A. It has
no options yet; just plays active region + all 3D windows now.
Options will follow, based on reviews.
Also ESC won't work for now, just press ALT+A again.

There was very little structure in this code, using many globals
and duplicated code. Now it should be better structured. Most
things should work, the main parts that are not back yet are the
python plugins and markers. Notes:
* Blenfont is used for drawing the text, nicely anti-aliased.
* A monospace truetype font was added, since that is needed for
the text editor. It's Bitstream Vera Sans Mono. This is the
default gnome terminal font, but it doesn't fit entirely well
with the other font I think, can be changed easily of course.
* Clipboard copy/cut/paste now always uses the system clipboard,
the code for the own cut buffer was removed.
* The interface buttons should support copy/cut/paste again now
as well.
* WM_clipboard_text_get/WM_clipboard_text_set were added to the
windowmanager code.
* Find panel is now a kind of second header, instead of a panel.
This needs especially a way to start editing the text field
immediately on open still.
* Operators are independent of the actual space when possible,
was a bit of puzzling but got it solved nice with notifiers,
and some lazy init for syntax highlight in the drawing code.
* RNA was created for the text editor space and used for buttons.
* Operators:
* New, Open, Reload, Save, Save As, Make Internal
* Run Script, Refresh Pyconstraints
* Copy, Cut, Paste
* Convert Whitespace, Uncomment, Comment, Indent, Unindent
* Line Break, Insert
* Next Marker, Previous Marker, Clear All Markers, Mark All
* Select Line, Select All
* Jump, Move, Move Select, Delete, Toggle Overwrite
* Scroll, Scroll Bar, Set Cursor, Line Number
* Find and Replace, Find, Replace, Find Set Selected,
Replace Set Selected
* To 3D Object
* Resolve Conflict
|
|
* Still incomplete and some operators don't work, refresh issues, etc.
* Made Hide/Reveal operators consistent for various modes.
|
|
* Image painting back. 2d paint, 3d paint and projection, undo,
pressure, repeating paint operations, etc should all work.
Drawing cursor needs a bit of work, only gets shown when enabling
texture paint mode now.
* Move sculpt, image paint, and vertex/weight paint into a single
sculpt_paint module. Doesn't make much difference now, but nice
to have it together for better integration and consistency in
the future.

- Mesh Rip back (Vkey). For those who keep wondering how
it works: just put mouse cursor somewhere close to the
selection, press V and mouse mouse away from it. Feels
like real rip!
- Made extrude sorta work, no menu/options yet though.
But it does transform!
- Added an short event->mval[2] with region coords,
easier coding for the guys :)
- Fill operator standard delivers 'beauty' now
|
|
Several things in one commit; could not split this up easily,
one job invoked another, and so on. :)
- Added pulldowns for save/load .blend file in top bar.
- To enable "Save" without further popups (save over)
I've added a signaling function in window header to
indicate a succesful save.
- On any undo push it now signals 'file changed'. This
goes by notifiers nicely, but now registers only the
undopushes, which is quite unreliable. "Changed" state
shows in header as "Blender*" and for OSX with the
standard close button black dot.
- Made screencast show a button in top bar indicating such,
and allowing quit. No hotkey for quit yet... but ESC will
keep casting now.
- Fixed new BLF_init(), which should be in WM_init() and not
on any .B.blend read.
- Fixed CTRL+F3 "Save Screenshot", which was still using old
fileselect code.
|
|
KeyingSets can now be added/removed. Next up, the code for the operators to add items to Keying Sets.
|
|
* Added notifier for edited images.
* Fix main region emboss drawing when showing render.
* Don't go fullscreen with fileselect for now to work
around context getting lost, so open/replace works.
* Save operators are more complete now, but still lack
confirmation and choosing image type.
* Pack operators work correctly now (but not unpack).
* Setting white/black point for curves.
* Time cursor for record composite.
|
|
- Added depsgraph tag for object-change in AnimData, so the
new animsys doesn't have to all objects anymore.
(Still WIP, depsgraph has to do this much better)
- Bugfix in notifiers; only 1 notifier was handled for
frame updates
Result: 2 windows, displaying 2 scenes, now can be edited
independently, and play independent. Not when they share
data, of course. :)
|
|
- Screen browse button back
- Several fixes in using screens in more windows.
Still has loose ends, but things are definitely more stable!
|
|
- Node editor: link cut back, now under ALT+LMB, to prevent
accidents. Note it now nicely intersects the real curved
noodles with a line you draw!
- To make above work, replaced ogl curve draw with own bezier
code.
- Added new WM standard operator callback for lines-gesture,
the Lasso gesture now draws a closed line.
- Both callbacks have optional property 'cursor' to make it
give modal info. For future also linestyle or color can be
defined.
- Changed 'pin' icon in Image header to something that looks
less scary... but there's no pin icon yet?
