copying out pieces. This also gets rid of MapBuffers, which isn't available in OpenGL ES. Scenes that require constant VBO updates (like my skeletal mesh stress test) are now 10~13% faster.

include:
* Cleaning up the conversion code to avoid a per-face material conversion. Materials are now stored in buckets and only converted if a new material is found. This replaces some of Campbell's earlier work on the subject. His work wasn't as thorough, but it was much safer for a release.
* Shaders are only compiled for LibLoaded materials once. Before they could be compiled twice, which could really slow things down.
* Refactoring the rasterizer code to use a strategy design pattern to handle different geometry rendering methods such as immediate mode, vertex arrays and vertex buffer objects. VBOs are added, but they will be disabled in a following commit since they are still slower than vertex arrays with display lists. However, VBOs are still useful for mobile, so it's good to keep them around.
* Better multi-uv support. The BGE should now be able to handle more than two UV layers, which should help it better match the viewport.

optionally transform between UV1 / UV2

mesh.transform(matid, matrix)
mesh.transform_uv(matid, matrix, uv_index=-1))
much more efficient then looping over verts in python to transform them.

- CMake building without python or fluidsim working again (broke in recent commit)
- remove BLI_short_filename(), it wasnt used anywhere.

MEM_mallocN for better tracking memory usage.
* off by default.
* new/delete are at the bottom of each class
* python BGE objects have the new/delete in the Py_Header macro.
|
|
* Where possible use vec.setValue(x,y,z) to assign values to a vector instead of vec= MT_Vector3(x,y,z), for MT_Point and MT_Matrix types too.
* Comparing TexVerts was creating 10 MT_Vector types - instead compare as floats.
* Added SG_Spatial::SetWorldFromLocalTransform() since the local transform is use for world transform in some cases.
* removed some unneeded vars from UpdateChildCoordinates functions
* Py API - Mouse, Ray, Radar sensors - use PyObjectFrom(vec) rather then filling the lists in each function. Use METH_NOARGS for get*() functions.

- variables that shadow vers declared earlier
- Py_Fatal print an error to the stderr
- gcc was complaining about the order of initialized vars (for classes)
- const return values for ints and bools didnt do anything.
- braces for ambiguous if statements

the features that are needed to run the game. Compile tested with
scons, make, but not cmake, that seems to have an issue not related
to these changes. The changes include:
* GLSL support in the viewport and game engine, enable in the game
menu in textured draw mode.
* Synced and merged part of the duplicated blender and gameengine/
gameplayer drawing code.
* Further refactoring of game engine drawing code, especially mesh
storage changed a lot.
* Optimizations in game engine armatures to avoid recomputations.
* A python function to get the framerate estimate in game.
* An option take object color into account in materials.
* An option to restrict shadow casters to a lamp's layers.
* Increase from 10 to 18 texture slots for materials, lamps, word.
An extra texture slot shows up once the last slot is used.
* Memory limit for undo, not enabled by default yet because it
needs the .B.blend to be changed.
* Multiple undo for image painting.
* An offset for dupligroups, so not all objects in a group have to
be at the origin.
|
|
=============================
* Clean up and optimizations in skinned/deformed mesh code.
* Compatibility fixes and clean up in the rasterizer.
* Changes related to GLSL shadow buffers which should have no
effect, to keep the code in sync with apricot.

This fix makes it possible to use lightmaps in the game engine.

interface is much simplified. Drawback is that scripts need to be updated next release. Testfiles:

2.40 build, just disable the game engine if it doesn't compile for a platform. Again, sorry if this breaks non-windows platforms, but I hope people help to get this amazing fix working for all platforms. Armature-fixing contribution from Snailrose. Also lots of cool things from Snailrose and Lagan.
Armatures are back
Split screen
Double sided lightning
Ambient lighting
Alpha test
Material IPO support (one per object atm)
Blender materials
GLSL shaders - Python access
Up to three texture samplers from the material panel ( 2D & Cube map )
Python access to a second set of uv coordinates

Up the max batch size.
Clean up some of the code - move code in headers to source files etc.

to be faster.
Also use shorts instead of ints for the index data, since index arrays are limited anyhow.
|

Added attributes to the vertex class.

2.25 like physics.
[SCons] Build with Solid as default when enabling the gameengine in the build process
[SCons] Build solid and qhull from the extern directory and link statically against them
That was about it.
There are a few things that needs double checking:
* Makefiles
* Projectfiles
* All the other systems than Linux and Windows on which the build (with scons) has been successfully tested.

So we should be all set now :)
