+We are happy to announce that FreeRDP **2.2.0** is released.
+
+Version 2.2.0 fixes a **security issue** (CVE-2020-15103)
+identified by Sunglin and HuanGMz of the Knownsec 404 security team and pangzi of pwnzen.
+We will publish the corresponding security advisory on our [GitHub security advisories
+page](https://github.com/FreeRDP/FreeRDP/security/advisories).
+
+
+Along the security issues this release also cotains important fixes for issues #6370, #6298 and #6299
+which caused grave problems when connecting to Windows 7 and with remote applications respectively.
+
+
+As usual the tar archive can be found on
+[https://pub.freerdp.com/releases/](https://pub.freerdp.com/releases/) and here is the link to the
+GitHub [release page](https://github.com/FreeRDP/FreeRDP/releases/tag/2.2.0) .
+
+Since 2.1.2 there have been around 40 commits, from six individual contributors.
